Works great! HOW TO: Reverse Flow
Works great! Easy install in typical interior drywall structure. Very quiet and moves air from equipment closet well. I modified to reverse the flow, so it blows away from the cord. How i did it: pop off the grill cover with the switch (use narrow flatblade to disengage 3 clips), remove fan blade (it pops off, pull at the hub so you don't break blades), remove two bolts holding motor to bracket, slide out armature (drive shaft), rotate motor frame 180⁰, reinsert armature (long shaft away from grill side, to accept fan), snap on fan blade, snap on grill cover (adjust wires as required to avoid contact with moving parts, ziptie if needed). Do at your own risk (I work with mains power often, but no wiring is needed here)!!! Also, light machine oil on bushings. No clue how/if this will affect longevity.

Great Fan
My office closet is converted to a "server closet", with a few servers and various pieces of network equipment. They generate too much heat to allow passive cooling from underneath the door, but not enough heat to have a dedicated A/C vent or standalone A/C unit. This fan helps pull air through the office, under the door, and up to the top of the wall where it dumps the excess heat into the HVAC room. Even on Low, it pulls more than enough air to keep the closet temps consistent, and pulls some extra air into the office. Helpful when I'm pushing my desktop hard while gaming. The fan was easy to install, and I appreciated the convenience of a standard plug instead of monkeying around with electrical wiring. I would have liked the option, maybe on a different model, to have an inline-switch somewhere near the plug end. Instead of on the unit itself. -But I don't adjust the fan speed often enough (hardly ever, actually) for it to be an inconvenience. The fan is rather quiet, and the only semi-annoying sound I get is a bit of humming resonance in the adjacent hallway. But that's because of the architecture of the house, not because of fan vibration or imbalance, and I don't sit in the hallway so it's a non-issue.

Great Fan
The fan is great, Works great and looks good. You can hear the noise at high speed setting, but not much an issue for us, since we only us it to blow cool ac air into other room at the day, during night we use the low setting. At low speed the noise is still there, but not too loud that you can't sleep. The construction is all metal. so it should last long. Installation is simple, just cut a 8" hole into the wall and screw it in. Just make sure not to cut in between any stud or wiring.

Works great at the end of a small run!
Purchased this fan to get warm air from a hallway/main living area into a bedroom on the northeast side of our house. That room has two exterior walls and is always cold in the winter. Our house is heated with hot water baseboards, and this room seems to be on the end of the loop in addition to being on the coldest side of the house. Because framing around the door prohibited me from installing this fan over the door (and there wasn't any other wall available to go directly through), I had to install 8" rigid ducting that went from the hallway, through a cabinet in the adjacent bathroom, and into the bedroom. There's about 36" of ducting total. All connections were made using sheet metal screws and foil backed tape to ensure no warm air leaks into walls - which could lead to condensation and mold/mildew. According to the size/performance chart in the instructions, this fan is for is almost too big for the room (about 100sf). So I use the fan on low and left one small cap and one large cap on, as the directions indicated. I think having additional ducting actually works to my advantage, since the fan's ability to move air is somewhat diminished by having to 'pull' air through that duct. I don't have a traditional install to compare this to, but I will say that the fan is working fantastically for my bedroom. Warm air enters the top of the room and pushes the cold air back into the living area through the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. The fan is plugged into a Lux Win100 thermostat so it turns on only when the thermostat calls for heat. The fan noise is very low, in my opinion. Just gentle white noise. Dings - - Installation instructions. The instructions make it seem like utmost precision is required when cutting holes, but that's not really the case. I wouldn't advise anyone to be purposefully sloppy, but a little a little slop is ok. - More importantly, I was not impressed by the way the inlet cover is supposed to mate to the flanged sheet metal sleeve. It looked like the flange was supposed to mate with the plastic housing, but the sizes don't match. So you're left just kind of 'making it work'. That's not the end of the world, but some kind of snap fit would work much better. I almost took a star off for that, but it's not a performance issue. All in all, this is a fantastic solution since it works great and it's way cheaper than buying and running a space heater.

Great!! 5 stars. Owned it since 2015 works 24 hours a day.
Does exactly what it says. Great price. Just ordered a second one, just incase it breaks at sometime. We have a bedroom that doesn’t get enough air conditioning because there is no ventilation to let air out so only some much air can flow in. This is the perfect solution.

Not high quality...
I bought this, like many others, for moving air from one room to another. It’s an OK unit. It doesn’t move much air, but then again it’s only 8 inches, not a 20 inch box fan. I did not find it too noisy, but moving air is not without some sound. The motor is just your normal cheap electric motor that you would find in any cheap electric fan in your local discount chain store. You know, the ones where the fan blades slow, then stop, because the motor shaft is not oiled. Taking it apart and oiling the shaft usually gets it going again, until it freezes up again. Rinse and repeat. For my purposes, the air movement was flowing the wrong way. I wanted the switch facing the destination room i.e. discharge side. The standard orientation is the intake is from the switch side. I also needed the power cord on the intake side because that’s where the convenient power source was. So, I either had to send it back, or, re-engineer the guts of the fan to suite my needs. I chose the re-engineer route, a) because I didn’t want to have to send it back, and b) with the discharge air and power cord configured the way I needed it, the fan would suite my needs. So… over to the workbench I went. It wasn’t too bad to change the configuration, but I’m handy, and have tools. It took me about 30-minutes to re-configure to suite my needs. I installed it in a door, with slack in the power cord to allow easy opening and closing of the door, however it is designed for through the wall use as it would accommodate up to about a 6-7 inch thickness. Why in the door… if I decided I no longer needed the air movement between the two rooms, it would be easier to replace the builder grade door then repair the wall. So… all in all, had there been a better alternative, I would have returned it, but that was the best I could find for my situation. Your mileage may differ. Now I am looking for something to cover the fan when not in use, as to not allow the air to move through the fan when it’s off.

Great fan for room-to-room air circulation
Athought this fan is an 8" fan it is larger than I thought it would be. The fan blades are 8" but the baffle is 10". The hole has to be just over 10" for it to fit. For some, making a 10" hole in your wall may put you off. This fan is wonderful. It has a high and low volumn. The low moves plenty of air and it is very quite on low OR high. It has aa attached power cord, however we were able to hard wire it to a power line within the wall so we don't have a cord hanging. With little electrical knowlege this is easy. Other than cutting the hole in the right place so as not to hit a stud, it was very easy to install. We use it to move the hot air from a room with a wood stove to a large kitchen area. It makes a drastic difference in temperature after running for a short time. We used a coner door frame fan prior to installing this. The old fan made almost no difference in temp and it was very loud. Again, even on high this fan is very quiet and moves a lot of air.
