Excellent Bluetooth mouse and a great price
Ignore the negative reviews. Upfront I'll tell you the biggest problem with this mouse is Bluetooth interference, when I have too many Bluetooth connections I notice a slight lag with the cursor. This is easily fixed by dropping one unnecessary Bluetooth connection, which in my case was going from 5 to 4 connections. I saw lots of negative reviews for the Microsoft replacement for the mouse roller but I'm liking the touchpad on this Sculpt mouse, it just a little getting used to. Only a very light touch is needed but not too light, and there is a haptic response to let you know it's working. It's small but not too small, I've had "laptop travel" mice that were ridiculously small. This is a good travel size mouse and metallic finish is very attractive. A good value for $18 Prime.

Right size and weight, reliable so far.
Got my new VAIO notebook recently, so the perspective of freeing one USB port by using Bluetooth mouse was very tempting. My favorite mice manufacturer Logitech recently neglected Bluetooth versions - last model you can still buy is over 5 years old and looks ugly/dated. I have tried cheap mice you can get at discount stores but their mechanical quality is abysmal - they fall apart after a couple of months. This one is perfect - not to small for my big hands and functions well so far. I may be a tad too heavy with standard batteries, but the weight is perfect when I installed Energizer Lithium AAs.The touch surface/button combo may require some adjustment if it is your first time, but I have used Arc Mouse and similar Logitech mouse before, so no problems for me. I really appreciate that mid-button click functionality is preserved (I missed it in most recent Logitech mice that use it to change the way scroll-wheel works). Please note that Bluetooth mouse usually takes a couple of seconds to re-connect when your computer wakes up after going to sleep or energy-saving mode. It is normal behavior and (unlike some cheap mice) this one always reconnectsYou can safely ignore software download if you do not want to change button assignments.Microsoft software for mice was always bloated, and this version is no different. One remark for Amazon - if you search for "bluetooth mouse" this one is not showing because it does not have 'bluetooth' in the name - it is a shame, because with Amazon prices it would be flying off the shelves...AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF USE:Still working and still on the initial set of lithium batteries. One accident - Windows update played hinky with the driver so I had to reinstall it. Other than that, the mouse works like new.

Solid mouse if you need a bluetooth mouse
ProsConnected easilygood feel in handtracks well on most surfacesCons-limited software (I'm using windows 7)touch bar not very sensitive (still useable though)heavy for its sizeBottom line: If you want a simple Bluetooth mouse this one won't disappoint, but if you don't care about Bluetooth then I would go with something cheaper.I have been using this mouse for a little while now. It was fairly easy to set up, but I did change some settings on my Bluetooth card to ensue it would not turn itself off. I adjusted that setting on my laptop without trying it first, so it may have worked without doing that, but based on my experiences with other Bluetooth mice, I thought it was prudent. That aside this mouse does what it is supposed to quite well. I like the fact that I don't need a dongle to use this mouse and I can just turn it on and it works. This is a comfortable mouse to use and so far so good. It fits well in my hands (I have big hands) and still maintains a small form factor. The really isn't anything that is all that special about this mouse. The touch strip (which also can function as a button) works well enough, it lags a little when scrolling and thus does not work as well as a wheel, but it does work well enough. I would have only taken off half a star for this, but that isn't an option. The touch strip also vibrates as it scrolls, and you can adjust this in the software. I like it on in a low setting, but I could see how it would bother some. The other thing that I noticed is the weight, which is due to the fact it uses 2 AA batteries. It isn't heavy per say, just heavy compared to the other mobile mice I've used. The software is not the greatest, I don't need a ton of customization (I just adjusted the vibration of the touch strip) but it wasn't the best work Microsoft has done. As this mouse is aimed at windows 8 maybe it will be better there. The software didn't bother me much, but it might if you want a lot of customization in a mouse as it is clunky and I couldn't find a way to go back a screen if I wanted to, which might make the process of adding a lot of customization difficult. Overall I'm very happy with this mouse and would recommend it, but its a mouse, and there is nothing, other then the Bluetooth functionality that would differentiate this mouse for me from any of the other, cheaper mice by Microsoft or Logitech out there. The bottom line is if you want a Bluetooth mouse this one won't disappoint, but if you don't care about Bluetooth, then I would go with something cheaper.

Superbly comfortable
Wow, this mouse is incredibly comfortable. It feels like heaven. I usually use the Apple Magic Mouse but as soon as I placed my hand over this mouse, I was in heaven. Ergonomic heaven. Length-wise, it's shorter than the Apple Magic Mouse but it's a bit taller with a big caboose that your palm falls right over. The mini-track pad is a great substitute for the old scroll wheel many mice still have. I was looking for a travel mouse but I think I might have just found my new mouse. It was easily recognized by my iMac. And it was very easy to use on my Kindle Fire HDX!Update: I have literally been using it only over an hour and I've noticed the weirdest thing. This could just be a dud. It works perfectly except that every now and again when my hand is on it...the mouse trembles like it's having its own mini-earthquake. Not sure if it's supposed to do that. It feels like the mouse is having a momentary seizure. I hope this doesn't happen with every mouse!
