Best Bluetooth mouse I can find available on the market
This is a great item to use when travelling. The mouse is small, the battery life is good, it's pretty ergonomic (for a small mouse). This is great. What is even better is completely seamless connectivity over bluetooth with 3 several laptops that I use this for. Going from sleep or restart, the mouse gets picked up as device with Windows 8 extremely quickly (I also tried with Windows 7 SP1). Tracking over all the surfaces I've tried sans glass seems excellent. Clicks get detected well, and scrolling function works right. I really don't have any complains and I got it on Amazon sale for $33. Can't really ask for much more. YMMV if you have XP or if you are trying with Mac, Android/iOS, but for more or less standard equipment/drivers, it works really well. I've tried hardware from Dell and Samsung.

Nifty Mouse!
I bought this mouse because I purchased a new Microsoft Surface 2 and a rip-stop nylon case to carry it in. This mouse is the "official" Microsoft mouse. Because it is so small, it easily fits in a zippered pocket in the Surface case with the power cord. At first I didn't think I would like it because I was accustomed to the feel of a traditional mouse in my hand. I was surprised at how much I like this little wedge mouse. It fits comfortably in my palm and it moves easily on any surface. It uses one battery, which I take out when I store it because it is easy to hit the small button on the bottom of the Wedge that turns the device on and off. It was easy to install it (Blue-Tooth), and it is easy to use. I bought the computer in November because I was doing a consulting job and needed something that was easy to carry, good for wordprocessing, and that had a long battery life. The Wedge was so helpful because it was small and easy to use. I highly recommend it.

As uniquely quirky and welcome as Windows 8
It's not at all similar to my aging and, at age six years, disabled cordless MS mouse. Windows 8 isn't a lot like my old Win 7 either. That's the whole idea: Redesign with the goal of creating a more innovative, consumer-friendly product. After less than half-an-hour of use, starting with (oops!) backwards positioning, I got the hang of this tiny, pocket-sized portable gem and won't go back to the big, rounded beast-of-old. The Wedge-Mouse's new laser recognizes any surface except glass and mirrors and it has power-saving features and an on/off button for travel. Great product. Arguably, 'no-five-stars-for-you', comes from the occasional drop-out (Remedy: lift it up and put it back down) I also suggest enabling the find-mouse feature in MS Software that shows a dynamic circle when you press < CTRL > as this Wedge is ultra-responsive and that setting helped me to get used to it even faster. I'm new to bluetooth so did have an initial set-up - connection - problem. I called MS Support: After one disconnect, a call misroute, a call escalation, another misrouting with profuse apologies, and speaking to the sixth person on the second call, I was asked for the 'PID'. "On the bottom of the device, sir..." . It only says 'Made in China', "No sir, the Product ID, support insisted" It only says "Made in China" and, on the front, "Microsoft" that's all! I looked at the main manual's three barcodes and read off available S/N, and other numbers. "I need a P.I.D. sir! ...Maybe it is on the cord..." Okay, now after the sixth MS 'Specialist' I'm asked for a tag on the cord of a cordless mouse. What could be more obvious? I asked for someone .....else. The next tech seemed vital and enthusiastic and asked about the 'transceiver'. She told me that there should be a transceiver included with the device and belabored her incredulity that I was not seeing it (or that it had not been included in my package). I told her if a transceiver existed, it was probably INSIDE my computer & the Wedge Mouse and I wasn't about to void my warranty as the only 'legitimate' opening on the Wedge Mouse is a clever compartment that flicks open and drops out/in the single 'AA' battery - which IS included. End of MS Support. Thank you for nearly an hour of amusement. Re-tracing my steps, rereading the small manual, I reset the 'Sharing' option on my 'Network charm' in Win 8. Nope. I rebooted my desktop and Voila! A mouse pointer was moving on-screen and no further need existed to confuse the clueless-crew-of-seven at M.S. Tech Support - Hardware division. I've recommend this mouse but aside from the apparent inability to recognize it as 'their-own' at MS Support, I question why it is 'on sale', being marketed at 50% or less of the original cost. Time will tell. Or not. Meanwhile it works like a feather vs. an anvil with my Win 8 desktop, my tablet and my wife's no-bluetooth-support-laptop if I use a bluetooth 'dongle'. Don't expect the 'ordinary' in any sense of the word from this device (or from M.S. Support should you need 'technical' advice) Meanwhile, 'The Wedge' is a refreshing upgrade for the <$35 that I paid at Amazon.com.

Ideal for mobile and tablet computing
I bought the Microsoft Wedge mouse and the corresponding Wedge keyboard after using the competitive offerings from Apple's hardware division. I needed another keyboard/mouse that better integrated with Windows 7 and Windows 8, especially over remote desktop connections on a Microsoft Surface device. This mouse had a nice price point and unlike the Arc mouse, worked without a dongle over standard Bluetooth. Connecting the device to the Surface was (surprise!) very easy. It takes one(1) AA battery. It seems to be intelligent about conserving power when it is not in motion. The responsiveness is great. I have not yet experienced a lag nor a hiccup while in use. The mouse connects to my computer immediately on startup. As for the controls, you get left click, right click, horizontal scroll and vertical scroll. Horizontal scroll is critical for the Windows 8 interface. Each of these features works as advertised but you may need to mentally adjust to how they are implemented. Left and right click are on the same button, so there is no concept of holding down left while clicking right. The small surface area of the mouse may surprise people who are used to making large movements on screen. That being said, this device is aimed squarely at the mobile user who needs intermittent use of click and pointing. I agree that it is not the best ergonomically but that is the tradeoff if you want something that has a small footprint. I type more than I click and usually skip the mouse anyway. However, I find this mouse invaluable for mobile computing and impromptu presentations, especially when paired with the Wedge keyboard. With the compute world moving toward smaller footprint devices, the arrival of this device timely. Again, if you are a graphic designer, then you may need an alternative as this one does not lend itself to extended use in one session. For the rest of the population, especially those with mobile aspirations, it works great.

not a good mouse, but it is portable, and I am happy I got it.
How to move and use the mouse: I have come to move the mouse, not with my whole hand, pivoting my wrist, but with only my thumb and middle finger. Imagine yourself holding a AA battery between your thumb and middle finger, keep your palm stable, and move the battery around by dragging it (or lifting it) with those two fingers. This is all the motion you need to get the mouse cursor anywhere on the screen (for me at least with my Surface 2). I right click, left click and scroll all with my index finger. If you use this mouse like a normal mouse, that is, you pinch the mouse with your thumb and ring finger where the battery is, and keep your index and middle finger above the two buttons, there is something you ought to know. You cannot right click if you leave your index finger touching the mouse (perhaps where the left click button is, but anywhere really). I have come to use this to my advantage. I do all of my clicking with my middle finger ("right click") but I do this with my index finger comfortably resting on the mouse. Only when I want to actually right click, I will left my index finger to allow the mouse to register the right click. The scroll works practically anywhere on the mouse. The mouse is about 3 inches wide. you can scroll anywhere within the middle 2 inches, just not the outer 1/2 inch area. very accommodating. Some minor annoyances. The mouse and the computer have a difficulty initiating the initial connection. Only about 50% of the time will the mouse connect to the tablet by turning it on. Otherwise I have to take out the battery, where upon putting the battery in, it has connected immediately 100%. I don't know if this is the mouse's fault or my tablet, but my tablet has no problem connecting with my wedge keyboard, so, yeah. This is not a problem because I take out the battery to my mouse after each use. The mouse is easily turned on by pushing a button below the mouse (not a toggle or a switch you have to physically move up and down). So there was this one time where it somehow turned on by itself in my backpack and it ran out of battery. Ever since I take out the battery after each use, so the issue of connectivity was alleviated, for me, at least. The mouse does shut off after about 5 minutes of non-use. So all in all, my opinion: I absolutely love this mouse. it is super portable. looks nice, gets all the job I want done. I don't get wrist cramps since I don't use my wrist to move the mouse. I would never want to use a mouse where you have to rest your entire palm on it ever again nor carry all that mass around in my bag.

Sleek look... but that's about it.
This mouse looks cool. But that is the extent of the positives. I have had it for about two weeks now, and I use it with my work laptop, so I give it 8hrs+ of use per day. First, it is extremely uncomfortable to hold and operate, since the wedge shape is not ergonomical. You are basically holding it by the metal sides, so it feels like working with a cigarrette box as a mouse. It makes my hand and fingers ache within a couple of hours of use in the morning. My ringer finger gets sore pretty often, so I can't imagine what sort of damage it can do over the years to your joints and tendons. Then the reason I felt I needed to post this review is the fact that the thing keeps "freezing". It is paired via Bluetooth with my X1 Carbon Thinkpad, and I keep installing and uninstalling the latest drivers and updates. Nothing fixes the issue, and every 4-5 hourse it just stops working. I have put the PC to sleep to "wake it up" and get the mouse to work. I have had to restart the PC a couple of times. It is just not worth it, I got it because it looked cool, but I am going back to my old mouse. As a matter of fact, it stopped working again halfway through typing this.

Great Design, worst scrolling ever made
I purchased this mouse to use with both my windows 8 tablet (Dell Venue 8 Pro) and my Macbook Pro to complement the Wedge Keyboard (which is awesome) hooked to an external display. I first had in mind to purchase the magic mouse from Apple, as it is the best mouse out there (those who tried it will confirm) but then wanted something more compact for carrying around with my tablet and really found the design appealing and Microsoft were advertising a great user experience. When they delivered my mouse, the first thing that got me smiling was the presentation. The red and grey packaging is very neat and definitely conveys the message of quality product. The biggest surprise comes when opening the box and realizing how small is the form factor: tiny! Holding the mouse for the first time will add to the satisfying experience, as it is very well built and feel comfortable on the tips of your fingers. Believe me when I say that the design itself makes you want to love it. If Microsoft was claiming that the design team behind this mouse was the same team that designed the Ferrari 458, I might actually believe them. So far so good, I was so confident that I had made the purchase of the year that already I wanted to review it and call my bodies to share the secret. But hold on, I still hadn't tried it, what could go wrong at this point? Well, this is where the mouse lost 3 stars. I paired the mouse with my Dell venue 8 pro at first and was very eager to try the feel of that touch interface. Unfortunately I soon found the experience to be very disappointing, for the scrolling is literally awful. When swiping your finger with the same kind of momentum you would use with a clicking wheel, at an attempt of scrolling, either one of three things will happen: 1) nothing, 2) a vertical displacement of about 1 line worth... which is not that much useful on most screens. OR 3) a super fast ride to the bottom of the page. It really is testing my patience at this point. But I figured i was probably the fault of Windows 8 and some missing drivers, and then paired it with my Mac and the same BS happens. Now don't get me wrong: the mouse looks fantastic, the bluetooth works as it should and wakes my computer up whenever and can't complain for pointing purposes. But man the scrolling is rubbish and THIS IS A DEAL BREAKER, specially if you know how good a user experience can be when you have tried an Apple magic mouse which has, hands down, da best touch interface money can buy. Bottom line, when you pay for a quality product you expect one, and not just one that will look good on the desk. But the mouse needs to be used at some point, and this is were it looses 3 stars.

Best compact mouse! You can't go wrong!
I must so don't always leave reviews because I am lazy! But I just go this for my Samsung laptop. And it is a awesome mouse. I like the touch surface. It makes browsing the internet a breeze. The click that it has when you press down it something that you will fall in love with! It is the perfect click. Very easy to set up. I like that it is Bluetooth so that I am not having a dongle taking a usb port. I thought it would be awkward to have a mouse this size but it isn't. I have big hands too. I mainly will use it when a mouse is needed I do a lot of excel. I needed a mouse other than the trackpad. It also has the ability to program certain functions and macros if that is your up of tea. Also keep in mind it is not a gaming mouse. The only thing that I wish it would do it invert the scrolling. That is how I am used to it working. But it is a minor detail. For me it will fit me needs a mobile mouse.

Molto bello e ben fatto

Forget scrolling
It's small and convenient and it works well as a two-button mouse. But the touch-scroll is useless. In most applications one or other of the scroll directions doesn't work. When it does work it's very jerky and slow to respond.
