Must have addition to any tool kit
Fantastic craftsmanship worth every I payed while being reasonable. Higher quality than I thought it would be for such a budget friendly addition to my wood working kit. High quality high carbon steel that sharpens up very easily and the knife came sharp as a razor. One of my only gripes is that this knife didn't come with a case or sheath so I definitely recommend buying a separate case or carving a traditional wood sheath. Not super big and clunky. I did end up buy a 12mm Kiridashi as well because of how good the quality is.

Excellent tool - sharp and precise
Excellent tool. Sharp and precise. I imagine a lot of people that break the tips aren't using it delicately as it's intended.

Not razor sharp...
I have used a straight razor to shave with for years, using a leather strop beforehand every time. I enjoy craftmanship and things that last, and will roll my eyes and laugh at every knife, axe, and "tactical" idiocy advertised as "razor sharp". Also, I am a medical provider and work with scalpels every day. I tell you this so that when I say it's not "razor sharp" you will fully understand me. It is far, far beyond razor sharp. It is SCARY sharp, and in a beautiful way. It is astonishing how well this cuts and maintains its edge (provided you don't do anything but cut straight with it of course). One side of it is completely flat, which might look a little awkward but is in fact terribly useful. I've even done some light planing with it just laying it flat on the piece. This is my first Kiridashi knife, so that might be old news, but I just thought it was for marking the piece. If samurai blades of old were even half as sharp, I can now readily believe the stories of them slicing a man in half. Only downside I see is that I'll never be content to whittle with my pocket knife the same way again.

Ordered a super sharp knife
This knife should be packaged in a case or leather sheath. It is beyond Razor sharp. It is a beautiful marking knife and should last for years. I will drill a hole for a piece of leather to hang it somewhere safe when not in use. My one issue is it did not come with a sharp point, it is rounded slightly. I will (one day) if it causes trouble sharpen to a point. I will also file an indent on the back edge for a finger rest. I would highly recommend anyone needing a good marking knife to consider this one.

Super Sharp
Holy crap, this is sharp as hell. I bought this for wood working and other projects. It's a great product, but dang it is sharp as hell.

Amazingly Sharp
The hollow ground blades have now been used on 100 year old mahogany, black limba, white oak, hard maple, and now ash. While it took me a while to get used to left hand and right hand blades, the thing that really makes the design superior is "bevel up" vs "bevel down" use. Single bevel blades are a game changer. As far as the materials... FLAWLESS. As far as the Craftsmanship... FLAWLESS. Excalibur meets Katana under a Lightsaber moon. I like it!

Very well-made, very sharp
I've used this knife hundreds of times and haven't had to resharpen it yet. Primarily, I use it for scoring lines on wood I'm about to cut, and it's great for that. I also use it for whittling off the ends of wood dowels that have trouble squeezing into the holes I've drilled. It shaves right through the poplar and oak dowels. I do wish it came with a sheath (instead of the little soft plastic endcap), but I've made a small holder for my small tools and rest it in there so the blade isn't exposed when not in use.

Exquisite Knife
Very well made and premium quality, a real joy to hold and use because of his sharpness and fitment in the hand. It has a very beautiful hammered finish and the grinding of the edge, my only wish is that there was some kind of a holder/sheath available to purchase to make it safe and also protect the knife's edge. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for such a knife.

Kiridashi Knife
