Significant Improvement in Overall Image Quality
This Amscope 40X Plan objective lens significantly improves the overall image quality. It is much sharper, has higher resolution, contrast, and produces a significantly brighter image than the stock (non planar) lens. Equally importantly, the image is much sharper around the perimeter. Somewhat expensive, but definitely worth the cost. Highly recommended. Just be careful when installing and when focusing, as the tip of the lens needs to come precariously close to the cover slip in order to focus. If your microscope has a stage stop mechanism, we would recommend adjusting it as a precaution to prevent accidental contact with the slide.

Very good quality.
Correcting a review. I am impressed with this objective compared to my non-PLAN objective. A worthwhile upgrade.

Works great.
They flattened the field of view.

Little flaw
The casing for the objective was loose when I received it. Hopefully did not affect the optic.

Significant improvement over stock 40x objective
Well-worth the money as an upgrade to the stock lens. ....Great value. Recommend for any bright field scope "high- dry" viewing.

Sharp objective
This objective lens is much sharper than the stock 40X objective. It also has a flat field.

it's a great objective lens for the price and definitely a good ...
I do most of my bacterial, smaller protozoa, and misc tiny microbiology work with one of these. I can't attest to how they stack up to say a $300 professional objective, but I did notice a big improvement from the stock one on my Amscope M600a. One thing - it's BIG. It's a beast. It is literally half an inch longer than the stock 40x objective and though I work around this problem I often have to remind myself to drop the stage focus way down when rotating it into position, lest I crunch my slide. If I was going to do it right, I'd replace them all as a set and spare myself the bs, and then either repurpose the stock objectives into weird projects (webcam microscope! yay!) or try to sell them off on eBay. Anyway, it's a great objective lens for the price and definitely a good upgrade to a stock cheap-ish scope, but not so pricey that it'll kill ya. In fact, look for this one on eBay and then compare to the Amazon price and you'll be pretty surprised more often than not. Rick NR417

I am thrilled to have found a replacement objective that works with my old Leitz Wetzlar SM-LUX binocular microscope. And I was also happy with the prompt help I received in tracking down my wayward package. Two thumbs up.
