Awesome!
I wish there was a PS3 editon on Hd of this game, but the PS2 is really fun and if you love football, you need to get this one for your collection!

Terrible controls
Hands down the worst soccer game I've ever played. Seems like it passes where ever it wants not where the joll stick is pointing. Unable to compete with headers. This game is garbage

Good by PS2 standards overall!
I've had this game since it was released and I still find myself playing it from time to time. The graphics are awful by today's standards, but it still is a fun game to pick up and play real quick. The main feature I really like (and abuse) is the create-a-player feature and the ability to maximize players' stats. It's real fun to make a super-team, although bear in mind you can only alter stats for about 12-16 players in the entire game, if my memory is correct. The controls are very easy to master, but as with many PS2 games (well honestly even games today) some times they don't always connect. I've found that the CPU more often than not gets the unfair advantage when it comes to fouls; my sliding tackles garnered more yellow cards than the CPU's even when they were clearly out of order! But it's not all the time and it isn't a game-killer. One petty thing that I don't like is how repetitive the announcers audio is. Again, this is a PS2 game and I understand that there isn't much space back in the day to include dynamic and ever-changing voice work for each game. But you get really tired of the same analysis of each goal very quickly. "Can he get it in?" "Oh it's there!" has been burnt in my mind forever. Definitely pick it up if you want some good fun in a not too serious setting (I'm not one who plays FIFA regularly, but I enjoyed this)

Worse than 2006
I am an avid FIFA fan, and have both owned and played every single edition that has been released. FIFA 2006 marked the pinnacle of their games so far, coupling great graphics with realistic gameplay. I have no explanation for what could EA did with 2006 FIFA World Cup. The graphics are worse than they are in 2005, yes 2005. The gameplay is terrible the players move so, and everytime you try a through pass its completed. I would have been much more content if they had taken 2006 and remade all the teams and leagues; but they didn't they took 2002 FIFA World Cup, gave the players first touch, and re-released the same crappy graphics. Do not buy this game. If you are so inclined to play as international teams, FIFA 2006 has an International league. Terrible Game!!

Great WorldCup experience for PS2
Easy gameplay and great W.C experience for the last PS2 World Cup game made for US. It does however get old after a few rounds of winning the Cup.
