Is this a ring stretcher?

I’m not a professional ring maker, but I would say NO, it is not a ring stretcher. The ring stretchers I have seen have involved a mandrel and a press. Hope that helped.

Am i able to hammer onto the ring mandrel? I saw that it was made of aluminum and i’m worried that it will bend or dent.

The ring sizer is aluminum, but the mandrel is steel. You could hammer on a bent ring to make it round again depending on the style of ring. However, I would not use it resize a ring. There are other tools for that.

Can you resize a 14kt gold ring that is now a 8 1/2 to a size 9 ? And is this worth it, or are you better off taking the ring to a jeweler $65.00 !

If its not more than a half size and there is enough gold available in the ring to stretch w/o compromising the strength of the ring.
