A Excellent Cd from this Trad Master,it features his late fifties stuff to a good degree,which for me was his Best daysIf your a Ackerlite and you are just starting to listen to him,this is a good education,Go for It!

Well for someone who doesn't really like jazz this CD has re educated my senses .... I really love stranger on the shore and if I'm honest that is the reason for getting this little hem. However a lot of tracks on here are more jazzy and I thought I'd made a mistake ordering a double CD ..... I decided to listen to the 2nd CD in the pack before finishing the first one and am glad I did because the collection on there helped me get into his jazz style enough to re listen to the rest of the first ..... am I making sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is I WAS disappointed at first that they weren't all along the theme of stranger on the shore 🤔 It will be a keeper.A lesson

My dog loved Acker Bilk. She is a very nervous dog with psychological problems. Bilks music seems to calm her down.

When I was a very very young kid, my mom would play this record. The ONE SONG that stuck out was "Stranger On The Shore". The ending was unique.Go ahead in time to when I'm about 40, I heard "Stranger" on a PBS radio station and had to have that album. I did notice, even after nearly 30 plus years, that that unique ending was very different by hearing it one time! I bought his greatest hits and, yes, it was his updated remake.I love this original track and album, much better than the remake, but, even the remake has richer sound.
