COVERGIRL - Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Eyeshadow - Pure Romance I had some hesitation after opening the package and finding such a difference in the shades I received (see photo) and the shades I thought I had ordered. But after scanning the bar code (and trying very hard to read the teeny tiny white printing on a pale pink background on the back) I have come to the conclusion that I did not, in fact, receive the wrong colors. So while I was hoping for mauvey pink tones, what I got, as you can see, was a lot more lavender/purple with gray tones. I considered returning it, but figured since I'd gotten it at a good price, I'd give it a try, if I hated it, I'd pass it along to someone else. Well... to my surprise, I really liked it. The colors are sheer but just pigmented enough that you can put them on and see them on your lids without having to spend 5 minutes with a blending brush to tone down the color. So you can definitely build to the depth and amount of color that you want. The quality is very nice; it looked just as good at 5 pm as it did when I put it on. The colors are soft and creamy and go on easily. I didn't notice any smudging or fading. If it helps, I am fair-skinned with blue/gray eyes and cool undertones, and while I am not normally a fan of purple shades (I am much more comfortable with nude or neutral shades) because they tend to be too bright for me, I don't mind these. I am considering ordering some of the other shades, but hesitant since I don't know what colors I will actually end up with. But other than that, I would recommend them--but maybe check them out in a store first and see how the colors in the picture compare to the real thing.

These colors are lovely they're very natural. You can use them to enhance your eyes by combining the lighter shades with the darker shades in the crease. They're not expensive and it comes with a lot of different colors and it comes with an applicator. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that the lighter colors don't pop. They're very subtle and no matter how much you put on they just don't have that brightness that makes your eyes sparkle.

Nice quality. I love the color selections but given I haven't worn makeup in such a long time I forgot that light colors do not show up on me very well. I will get it again in some brighter colors. I like that there is some sparkle to one of the shades. I do not use the little applicator but it is nice that it is included.

I’m old enough to remember Covergirl’s naturals line of eye shadows from the mid 90’s - they were universally flattering colors that applied smoothly, blended well and lasted all day without creasing or smudging. I hoarded those eye shadow singles for years because nothing else in the drugstore tier of cosmetics options was on the market (and trust me, I tried them all - I get easily dazzled by pretty things…don’t we all, friends?) These new Eye Enhancer trio shadows are close to the singles I treasured - for all the same reasons. The colors flatter all skin-tones and are neutral enough for day wear but can easily transform into sexy smoke show eyes with a quick smudge of liner and another coat of mascara. The pigmentation is what you would expect from an enhancer; these aren’t meant to go on thick. They bring out your eye’s natural beauty and add soft shading and they blend very well with good brushes. Not a lot of product fall out, which I appreciate. I hate dropping a pan in the sink and having to sweep up the chunks and press them back together or have eye shadow dust all over the rest of my cosmetics. So far I’m loving all the new Covergirl Enhancer products (ahem, those new blush and bronzer bricks are massive and incredibly versatile! My children’s children will still find product in the pan because they are that big!) and am finding myself appreciating that real treasures can be found in drug store brands again. Great value for the money. You’ll want to snap these up in all the colors!

This is nice, it's just not exactly what I expected. I was hoping for a solid taupe tint, but this is closer to a shimmer/highlight. Instead of using it for my whole lid, I like to user it on the inner lid/corner as a highlight. It's fine, just not really what I was looking for.

I like the eyeshadow. The colors are nice and the coverage is good. I received it a little damaged. Some of the eyeshadow was broken. I’m using it anyway.
