Plano Prolatch Stowaway Storage Case

I always find myself needing a bit more storage and organization. I’m a big fan of Plano ProLatch Stowaway storage bins — especially the Plano ProLatch Stowaway 3700 series. I don’t use them for fishing, but for storage and organization of my miscellaneous odd and ends, hardware, office supplies and any other items I can find around the house that I like to keep safe and organized. I probably have more than 200 of the Plano ProLatch Stowaway 3700 storage bins in various styles. The 3700 series storage bins measure 14”L x 9.13”W, but depending on the style, the depths and number of dividers varies. This particular bin, Plano 23731-01 Deep ProLatch Stowaway Open Compartment, measures: 14”L x 9.13”W x 3.25”H. The only drawback with this bin, which some might not prefer, is the fact that the inside bottom is not flat. It has has 3 raised ridges approximately 1/8” High running longways from side to side. It appears that they might use the same outside mould from their Plano 23730-05 Prolatch Stowaway Deep with Adjustable Dividers. So, if you want the inside bottom to be flat, I would suggest making a fake bottom out of cardboard or a similar material. Personally, these ridges don’t bother me. The Plano ProLatch Stowaway storage bins are extremely sturdy, easily stacked in multiples and the sides and covers are clear, so it is extremely easy to see what is inside of them without having to open anything up. Plano storage bins are an inexpensive way to organize your life! Just fill them up, and slide them on a shelf, in the closet, under the bed and even on a bookshelf. I also have a few of the ProLatch Stowaway XX-Large bins. The XX-Large storage bin is the largest size of this type storage bin that I have and is perfect for those things I don’t have room for, don’t fit in my go to 3700 series bins, but things I want to have access to. The XX-Large bins measure: 17” Long x 16”Wide x 5” Deep. They are a great fit for under the bed storage.

I love these Plano storage boxes/organizers! They are great quality, lightweight and can serve a million purposes. I have purchased a wide selection of them, including these "open compartment" ones. My wife uses them regularly to store various craft and sewing supplies. I use them to organize miscellaneous hardware and small parts. I used multiple Plano organizers to create the perfect full-size First Aid kit for my house by stacking multiple organizers inside a small duffel bag. I have used some of the smaller Plano organizers with customizable inserts to make smaller first aid kits for my car and camping backpacks, as well! These boxes are strong, durable and latch confidently. In my experience, they are a much better buy than the similar organizer products from "Flambeau" and other makers. No matter the use, don't hesitate to give these Plano organizers a try! Highly recommended!

High quality and value. I'm using mine for stacking leaderboards for kokanee fishing. Latches are made well and will not break off after multiple openings/closing. Don't look any further - this is the one to get!

Been using these for years! Better than those you can find at craft stores. Not only for fishing and hunting supplies. They organize a lot of items because the width and depth dimensions are the same in this series size so other containers of different heights can be stacked uniformly. Other models have dividers of many styles. Plano contains are the way to go.

This is just what i needed for storing fly tying materials. and priced much better than local shops.

April 2017 Update: Most of the Plano containers we've used to store our grandkids' collectible diecasts in have had adjustable dividers - this one doesn't, but the ridges in bottom is what we were after for our purposes. When I was about two years into babysitting our first grandson, it became overwhelmingly apparent we needed some toy storage solutions! The first thing my husband and I did was to purchase multiple bookshelves with adjustable shelving, which really helped, especially since most of his toys were bigger and more bulky. Then when our oldest grandson turned 3 and 4, he started getting into Thomas trains and Disney "Cars" characters, so we needed something to contain all of these smaller items. We discovered the Plano Stowaway 3700 series with adjustable dividers, and they've been the perfect solution! 3700 series models are all 14"L x 9.13"W (with varying heights), so they stacked perfectly on our upper shelves. Our one remaining problem was finding something that would hold his Disney Store Monster Truck Mater series (which are on a bigger scale than the typical Mattel diecasts.) While this Deep Open Compartment wasn't a perfect solution (we do wish it had 9 vertical dividers, and just so you know, it's NOT the 3.25"H it claims... more like 3 1/8", and you can't store anything taller than 3" inside), it does have 3 horizontal ridges on the bottom of the container that are spaced 2 1/8" apart, so we can nicely fit three of the trucks in each of the 4 "rows" created by the ridges, and the ridges do a pretty good job of holding the tires in the row. Haven't been able to find anything better than these storage boxes for holding of all of our grandkids' diecasts collections - keeps them in one place and up out of the way. We particularly like them because they're clear and our now THREE grandsons can easily see what they'd like to get down and play with (the latches are very secure, giving us peace of mind that our 6 month old granddaughter won't be able to get at the smaller toys we keep in them when she starts crawling/toddling around, just to make sure nothing gets taste-tested or swallowed!

Super quality and super useful. I have used Plano brand for years — and am totally happy with price, quality and the size selection. I recommend highly Plano products.

Solid box with endless uses. The price is fair and the box is perfect for fishing or other things are the house.
