The product photos show that a usb cable plugs directly into the car to charge it, but reviews say you need to remove the batteries. which is it?

False advertising! I too purchased this model for the feature of plugging directly into usb WITHOUT REMOVING the battery pack (3rd picture and item description). You do have to remove the battery pack!!! Additionally, per the manual, intital charge is 6 hours the first two times, then it is 4 hours to charge the battery thereafter (not 1-1.5 hrs). Play time per charge is 15-20 min (not the 25-30 min in the description), per the manual.

Is it easy for 5 years old kid to control?

Yes I bought it for my 5 year old for Christmas and he loves it.

Can this product use any AA rechargeable batteries? Or is the battery that comes with the product the only one you could use?
