It's a record player.
This isn't the best turntable on the market, but for the price it is very good. I have tried a few other models in the same price range and this one sounded better than all of them. It was simple to set up. It feels sturdy and looks decent. If you are on the fence about it just buy it and return it if it isn't your thing.

Excellent Customer Service and Quality - especially at this price
Pros: While waiting delivery I was building a mini-entertainment center to house the turntable and other electronics. There was some confusion on dimensions stated on sales page so I called Customer Service fully expecting the usual let down. To my amazement they not only answered but the person went out of her way to be helpful and even spoke clearly. What a pleasant surprise in these days of "foreign" tech support. The price was obviously a main attraction as I was looking at units in the under $300 range. The reviews of other units approaching $300 consistently reported "slowing down" of the motor and cheap, lightweight plastic construction. I figured if that's the case then I'm just going with this unit since it actually had less negative reviews. One main attraction was that the unit is 100% manual. As an engineer that means there's a lot less to break or wear out. Also, and most important I believe one of the problems with slow-downs that people experience on other units is all the Automatic features. These features all depend on the same inexpensive 12 Volt motor which now has to power all that other stuff instead of just the turntable (additional stretching of the belt to these other components with more turns and wear points contributes to the slow-downs as well as the power drain). Being fully manual all the power is directed just at the turntable and it feels quite strong when I used my full-width record cleaner while the table turned. Time of course will tell. Another nice feature to help with the manual operation is the tonearm lift lever. This lifts the tonearm and allows you to place the needle exactly where you want it before lowering it, or raising it. This is mandatory for my old shaky hands. Not sure why they don't promote this in their advertising because it makes the whole manual thing workable for people scared of this style. During unpacking the first thing I noticed was how relatively heavy the unit felt. Ordinarily might not have noticed this however the comments in reviews of the units that are 2-3X more expensive is that they feel light and cheap. This "felt" well built. Also although I don't personally care that much about looks, I have to admit the red-wood look and design of the components is most attractive. The dust cover is heavy duty and works well with the two-point hinges. I'm listening to Billy Joel 52nd Street while writing this and it sounds great. So I guess the cartridge is good quality. So far listened to a dozen Very Old records and no skipping or other issues. BTW it has Bluetooth for the speakers, but I'm not using that so no clue if it works. Cons: The Instructions would be my only real complaint. The quick start is a mind boggling collection of illustrations by someone on LSD. Fortunately there's an actual manual as well. This is a bit better but still might be a bit confusing to some people who aren't mechanically inclined or already intimately familiar with turntable functions. In other words, if you're just not capable of putting together things that aren't simple then you're going to struggle. This is Not something you can just take out of the box, plug in, and start using. However keep in mind that if you do run into trouble there's the tech support line, though expect to wait for a call-back the next day (just being realistic).

This is what I was looking for!
EDIT: Three years (Sept 2025) after the purchase.... I'm still very pleased. Since buying this, my Vinyl collection has grown immensely, and I'm using this turntable nearly daily or a few times a week with ease. I've yet to experience any issue with it. In my original review below, I mentioned that I hadn't tried out the Bluetooth capabilities. Though, I have since and while it's a neat feature to have, but unfortunately you lose sound quality, versus hard wired. I prefer to listen through speakers wired to the turntable. It just sounds so much better. One annoyance is once I paired other speakers/devices through Bluetooth, it tends to connect automatically which is great if that's what you're going to use, but as mentioned, I prefer to listen through the speakers hard wired to the turntable. So sometimes turning off the Bluetooth speaker I paired tends to be difficult and if you leave it on, you hear a delay being Bluetooth delays the sound. If all fails, I just turn the Bluetooth speaker volume down to "0", if it connects beforehand. Otherwise, I'm happy with this and hope to have many more years of enjoyment out of it. I just love the simplistic of it all, and I feel I become more immersed with my music when playing vinyls. Read on for what I previously said of the turntable...... I know there are a lot of audiophiles who may be able to find fault with this turntable, but for me, this unit seems to do the job for me at a reasonable price. Previously, I had bought a Victrola (all in one Unit). While it's nice to look at and has everything one would need to play every format, the turntable was not something to be desired. Many of the records I played, would skip or skate across the record. Also, the turntable just didn't sound so great. You heard every crackle and static on the Victrola. On this turntable, there is no skipping, skating and the sound is clean. One of the main reason I bought this player is because I wanted to play all my records without skips and skating. I'm happy to report that doesn't happen with this turntable. The sound is really clean through my old AIWA Q-Sound speakers I bought 30 years ago. This turntable has Bluetooth capabilities which I haven't taken advantage of along with the possibility of recording my Vinyl to digital. Though, I bought this simply to play my records. I have access to all my music digitally, so that feature isn't a big deal for me. Though it's nice to know that I can possibly record future Vinyls I buy that I don't own digitally. It's also nice to know that I can sync headphones to this unit. I can't speak for the easiness of syncing to this turntable, but after reading multiple reviews of this turntable, most seem to have an overwhelming positive experience in syncing to their headphones. I gave this four stars based on my experience in setting this up. To me, it shouldn't be so difficult to setup. That said; I had some issues with the Anti-skate weight and the belt. First and most importantly, the belt gave me some trouble when setting up. It kept slipping off the pully. As you can guess, without the belt, the turntable is quite useless. I spent nearly an hour fighting with the belt while it kept slipping off. I almost gave up and was ready to return the unit. I tried to adjust the pully without much success. Somehow I was able to adjust the belt from slipping off the pully finally. I really have no idea what I did. It just finally stayed on without slipping. Still, it was quite stressful and for someone who prefers an out of the box, quick set up, my experience was not such. Furthermore, the fishing line for the Anti-Skate was a joke. My fingers aren't that huge, but the knot that was already tied, was too small. I couldn't adjust it. I tried to do my own tie but the fishing line was hard to tie around it, so I eventually gave up. It was disappointing because I bought the unit because, as stated earlier, that I had albums that my Victrola would skip and skate through. Fortunately, after playing a number of my Vinyls that skated and skipped on my Victrola, doesn't skip or skate on this unit. So I'm not sure if the Anti-Skate weight is really necessary? When setting it up, there is a counter weight you attach which I may have conveniently set up correctly that does the job in keeping the needle/arm from skating across any records. Again, I am not a Turntable expert, so I can't really speak for the weight's effectiveness. The other cons that can turn a person off is the fact that this doesn't have an automatic stop/start/return feature. For me, it's not a big deal, but I can understand why someone would prefer for it to stop once it got to the end of the record. For me, I usually play my vinyl, expecting to get up to turn the record over. Still, it would be nice for it to just stop spinning when the record is done. As some have expressed already, the wear and tear on the vinyl and the needle due to lacking this feature, could be a concern. Seems weird to me, in this day and age, this isn't something included on such a turntable. Even my "all in one" Victrola stops when the record is done. All in all, I'd say this is a worthy purchase. It's a great price and the sound it produces is awesome. I was avoiding paying hundreds of dollars for a decent Turntable. And as most know, you usually get what you pay for. I believe I found a turntable that will satisfy my vinyl listening needs. I'm happy with the way it sounds and happy that you can easily plug in and play it with headphones or RCA speaker with no additional pre-amp.

Funcional pero es díficil calibrarlo, las instrucciones para calibración no son precisas, y son confusas, ademas como que es importacion requiere pagos de impuestos de importación.
