The Pout-Pout Fish

These are great stories, little ones love them and enjoy them thoroughly. With the littles, the younger they are the fewer words should be on the pages for them. Board books are ideal because they don't tear easily. Good stories engage them and help them learn to love reading, and even at 1 or 2 they can begin to recognize certain words on pages in books that they see frequently. This book fits the bill and talks about emotions, which littles also are learning to process. It's worth the Money.

this book is a wonderful story with colorful illustrations and a fun message that keeps my daughter interested from beginning to end it has become my daughters favorite book and she asks me to read it again and again the pages are sturdy and the story is enjoyable for both kids and parents i would definitely buy it again

This is my one-year-old daughters and my favorite book! It is super cute and an easy read. It has a nice story and cute pictures. Its a board book which makes it nice and durable. I have to read this to her at least 5 times a day and it doesn't get old. She ends up kissing the last few pages because the fish kisses the other fish. Its super cute.

I remember reading this book to a little girl I babysat when she was about 6 months. It was in soft-cover if I recall. I bought this book in the board-book style for her little sister. It is so cute with its adorable illustrations. Little kids like the repetition of certain phrases. I would say the message is that a little bit of kindness and attention can go a long way. It is educational as well for little ones. The board book is very sturdy and will be able to take some chewing.

A book that every parent should have my toddler absolutely loves this book it’s also a really fun book for me to read and a perfect length. I actually started buying this book too for baby showers.

My 1.5 yo daughter loved it the first time I read it and keeps asking me to read the book, saying "pout pout." Such cute book where pout pout grouchy fish becomes a happy fish at the end :D

Fun story with an important message, great illustrations, a good one for parents who like to do all the voices! The pout pout fish has become a synonym in our house for being grumpy!

I just adore this book! It's so fun to read and it quickly became one of my young toddlers favourites. It's a fun book to do silly voices with, and the pictures are bright, colourful, and expose your child to underwater creatures they might not typically see. I'm quite picky about the books I buy my son because he loves being read to; so after you've read him the book the first time, you have to immediately read it 10 more times after that, and then numerous times every other day! - so I try to find something that remains engaging for me as well. This book is well written with a great rhythm. I haven't looked into buying any of the other pout-pout books, but I would do so in a heartbeat if they are as well done as this one.

I bought this book on a whim as it appears in a lot of recommended reading lists for young children. It’s an excellent read, so much fun and always brings a smile to my 1 year olds face when I shower him with kisses at the end. Lots of opportunities for the reader to put on their best pouty voice and get involved in the story! I have read some negative feedback regarding this encouraging lack of consent behaviour on a different forum. (All a bit OTT if you ask me) No I’m sorry I just don’t get that perspective at all. Highly recommend!
