Perfect, Simple Easy Install
I purchased this to replace an inline filter installed by my plumber two years ago. In order to replace the filter he had installed I would have to go down into the crawl space under my condo which is a long trip through three fire doors which starts in a full basement and ends under my place which is a dark crawl space about five feet high where the shut off is. Then I would have to go back upstairs dissassemble the filter, unscrew the compression fittings and then go back down under to turn the water on and hope nothing was leaking when I went back upstairs. Needless to say I didn't change the filter until it clogged and the icemaker stopped working. This gem took less than 10 minutes to install start to finish, including mounting, and I never have to make that trip again to change a filter. I have copper tubing that comes up about 10 inches out of the floor and from there plastic tubing is joined which ran about two feet to the existing filter and then there was about three feet of plastic tubing running from the filter to the fridge. I took a chance and did not turn off the water. Using my garbage can to catch any water I cut the fridge side of the tubing from the existing filter and a bit of water drained out. I inserted this cut end into fridge side of the new filter housing. I then (holding it over the garbage can) cut the water source side of the tubing from the existing filter and quickly inserted the tubing into the new filter casing. The cut wasn't clean, water sprayed out and the tube was not secure, so I removed it made a clean cut and reinserted - perfect. About a gallon of water ended up in the garbage can between cuts. I mounted the casing with two self drilling drywall anchors and secured the tubing into a foot diameter circular return with a twisty tie. It's working perfectly, no leaks, and the icemaker is once again making ice. I'm thinking of replacing my undersink filter with one of these when I use up my filters, it's a good filter but the housing has to be cleaned with bleach and it takes about a half hour to clean the houseing and change the filters and this is just so much easier, just unscrew the filter and swap it out. For the price this is terrific!

Cost effective; straight forward intallation
I chose this filter because it has been connected to the refrigerator at work for over two years and we have never had any issues with it. A couple notes: 1. It takes up a lot of space behind the refrigerator, so I mounted it in a cabinet next to the fridge. This resulted in several advantages including easy access to the filters (don't have to pull out the fridge to change the filter), and an easy way to watch for leaks (so far, there aren't any). The attached photos show my installation. 2. I opted for the expensive LDR 509 5175 Pex 25-Foot Ice Maker Connector tubing. The tubing is flanged on both ends, so the connections are secure and leak free. The tubing can be cut in the middle since the straight ends fit into the filter. Inserting the tubing into the filter required a significant push, but resulted in a very secure connection. I didn't need 25' but the extra cost was worth the worry free installation. 3. The water in our town is quite good, but has a strong chlorine taste and smell. This filter did an excellent job removing the chlorine, significantly improving the taste. 4. The instructions recommend securing the filter to the wall using a block of wood (see attached picture). This worked out very well since I was able to secure the block to a stud and then mount the filter to the block; however, attaching the filter using mollies would probably be just as secure.

Nice and simple.
I bought this because I needed to replace a 20+ year old mount that had started leaking. We've always been happy with the Culligan system, but we always use the EZ-4 filter. This EZ-1 only lasted 5 months, the EZ-4 can last up to a year. These are very easy to change.

Easy installation / High value
I use this filter inline to the icemaker in my fridge. Installation was easy and leak-free, since I followed the directions. It provides ice that tastes fine, with no chemical or metallic aftertaste. The value for the dollar seems quite high, although I gave 4 stars (instead of 5) because I haven't used it long enough to determine its long-term durability. I know from experience that one gallon makes enough ice for 3 days of use for me (I live alone). A 3,000 gallon filter should make 9,000 days worth of ice. 9,000 days is over 24 years, and I won't live that long, so I shouldn't have to ever change the filter cartridge. Barring any flaws in that logic or in the performance of the filter over time, this item should receive 5 stars.

Drinking water filter
We bought this to go along with the flush valve kit also by culligan. Our fridge is a ice only dispenser, so the flush valve was a huge plus in allowing us to flush the filter and not having to throw out ice for weeks. The fitler itself is very easy to install and changing the filter is a breeze. You just turn the filter about 1/4 of a turn and it pops out as well as automatically shutting off the water, so no leakage! We live in the city, and with this filter we have not had any issues with our ice adding that "swimming pool" taste to our drinks. I can't say on how well it filters, but it filters well enough for us. Another note is the flow rate on this filter. I've had some fridges where the water comes out at such a slow trickle due to the filter that it takes a long time to fill a glass. With this filter we got quite a stead flow of water through the flush valve that we were able to fill a 5 gallon bucket in about 5 minutes, so this should not impair your fridges water flow at all.

Unbelievable price.
I purchased this model specifically for these three reasons: 1. Price for the housing and cartridge for 3000 gallons or one year is considerably less than many cartridges alone for 600 gallons or six months. 2. This particular model doesn't come with a faucet, so I can use my own high quality separate faucet. 3. This model is permanently connected to line pressure, 30-100 psi OK, so I don't need a fancy three hose faucet to disconnect pressure when the filter isn't in use. Since our water is pretty good already, and we really just wanted to get rid of the chlorine, this filter was an excellent choice, far far FAR less expensive, both initially and on an annual basis, compared to filters which take out all manner of sub micron particles and chemicals. This unit was a snap to hook up, just needed to purchase about $12 of fittings and hose at Home Depot. The hose just plugs right into the head/housing with no tools. The cartridge couldn't be easier to change, just rotate 90 degrees and it automatically shuts water off and pops out. Tap water tastes much better after going through this. I've seen the argument that tap water in the USA is already good enough and it's a waste of money/time to use any water filter. Even if that were true, at $15 for the first year plus $12 a year after that, I don't see how that argument really has a leg to stand on! $1 a month for chlorine free water is great!!

Stop wasting money on pitcher filters and buy this!!!
Installation was easy. I ended up putting it in a cabinet next to the fridge because it stuck out too much to put behind it. I drilled two holes and ran the water line through the cabinet and popped the lines in the filter, mounted it with the supplied screws and good to go. I already had a water line running to fridge but no filter, which made it a little easier. We used to use the pitcher style water filters... Replacement filters for these were about 8 or 9 dollars and they only filter 40 gallons. This filter was around $15 and filters 3,000 gallons... You do the math on the savings!! My wife, who enjoys a fine delicious glass of refreshing, cool water and nothing less, even enjoys it!! No leaks and after flushing for a few minutes the water looks, smells and tastes great! Well worth the money!

Easy to Install, Ice Tastes 100% Better
This was easy to install, as easy as crawling around under your kitchen sink can be. It's advantageous to mount a small piece of wood to the inside of your cabinet walls first with plastic anchors so that when you mount this, it doesn't pull through the thin cabinet walls. I used a 6" x 6" x 3/4" piece of pine, a scrap from mounting my sink water filter. The push-to-connect fittings were easy to use (make sure you cut your tubing as square as possible). Mark your holes first and pre-drill since you're going to be uncomfortable trying to tighten the screws under your sink. The filters are cheap (though I had to wait on it to arrive from Canada). It does come with a filter, but I like to keep one on hand.

Great price point
Using this as an inline water filter for my plumbed in coffee maker to maintain NSF and warranty requirements. This version (of 4 types), allows for up to 3000 gallons and meets NSF requirements as per the warranty.

Super easy installation
Super easy installation. I was a bit skeptical about the push in connection for the 1/4 inch in and out lines but it has proved so far to be very secure. I used 1/4 inch Pex tubing. The water tastes and looks equally as good as my Brita filtered pitcher. The water pressure out is also very good.

Great product and much cheaper replacement costs than what I ...
Great product and much cheaper replacement costs than what I had before, by a third! If you need better filtration than this there are other Culligan filters that you can fit to this housing. For me it was for an icemaker and does an ace job.

Good at getting rid of the chlorine taste.
The water quality from the city is pretty good but the nasty chlorine taste makes it undrinkable when you're used to a purified water distributor. I've installed this filter for my ice maker and I'm impressed at how good it is to remove the taste.
