desertcart.com: The Longevity Book: The Science of Aging, the Biology of Strength, and the Privilege of Time: 9781504696951: Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bark: Books Review: Must read book for all women - This is a superb book! It's sort of like the What to Expect when You're Expecting book but more like What to Expect With Aging. Cameron shares with us in depth information regarding the aging process on a cellular level and offers very good advice and info on the importance of good nutrition, good sleep and exercise and the benefits of meditating which I am now going to try doing. Every woman needs to read this book. I am the same age as Cameron so it was like listening to my very knowledgeable best friend as I read her book with great interest and respect. Highly recommend this book. In fact, I already have recommended it all over my personal facebook page. Thank you for an enlightening book! Cheers, Lesley Turner Hall Review: Love, Longevity! - This book is great. It has the personality of a truly beautiful person inside and out. Plus, it has the scientific facts for staying youthful too. An interesting historical fact it had listed was Cleopatra used crocodile poop as a facial mask to preserve her beauty. It's inspiring, educational, and entertaining.

GREAT read, but mostly for middle class women
Really accessible and well written popular science book. The topic is well researched, the narrative is interesting, and the authors back their findings with sound science. Plus, it's a great topic. Chapters include sex on a cellular level, the effects of stress of aging, youthful appearances vs internal health, etc. The biggest problem is that while the authors touch on race and class, this book is written with the assumption that like Diaz, you have access to things like Healthcare, nutritional food, etc. The authors don't ignore these problems and race/class dynamics don't need to exist in every chapter (say: understanding genetic differences between sex on a cellular level) but overall the book is written for white / middle class women. (For context, I'm a 26 and white business owner with no health insurance.) Still - great read and would recommend to friends.

100 stars for Miss Diaz!
Cameron Diaz does it again! I loved The Body Book, and this is really an extension of that. Although, I really think it is best for someone over the age of 30 or 40? I'm 24 and some of the things in here I can't relate to now, but now I will be in the future. But otherwise, such a fantastic book. Cameron Diaz is knowledgable, funny, smart, and just makes the perfect person to write a book like this. I love it!

Great reference booj
Love it. I loved the body book and love this. Even if you arenโt the biggest Cameron Diaz fan you canโt argue that she really takes care of herself. This book made me not fear aging it actually made me want to take all steps to make sure I take care of myself the best that I can

It is good ,a lot of science behind it
I bought this to see what this is about. I think she does a excellent job at doing her research and the science behind what she is telling. there is a lot of info and she did a great job. It just didn't interest me and thats why I gave it 3 stars.

Substantive and Uplifting
This book is heavy on the science behind aging (although discussed in an engaging and entertaining fashion) and why, although it is inevitable, we should not fear getting older the way we typically do. Cameron Diaz's career in the entertainment industry and experience of being a "hot girl" has given her some valuable insights into the absurd pressures on women to stay young (as if we could). She seems genuinely happy to embrace getting older and all that it brings. Her self confidence and self acceptance shines through the pages. Although I am personally not too troubled about getting older (and have also just entered my forties), I felt quite uplifted by this book and grateful for the years I have achieved and the ones to come. I also liked the fact that while Cameron's face is on the book, she is open about the fact throughout that the whole project it was actually a team effort between her and her co-author. Most celebrities don't give that much acknowledgment to their co-writers.

Strongly recommend!
I really appreciate this book, as well as the previous one. Very inspirational and charmingly written, as well as factually intersting. I love getting older (am 44 years old) so I didn't buy this book "to find ways of staying young looking", but more because I loved The Body Book so much and, again felt inspired. I work with my body all the time (teach yoga, core and spinning) plus have an otherwise active job(which I love) so my strive is always to balance my active time with some good old fashion sitting down time. Inspiration and great ideas came pop up at any given time and I think these two books are superbly presented and wriitten. Kudos to Diaz for keepiung things real and, my favourite expression, "back to basics". I really hope these two talented women write a third! I strongly recommend The Longevity Book, it's a must have! Arrived quickly and was well packaged. I did not know what this was going to be like. I have been impressed so far with Cameron's easy talk and common sense. During the lockdown it has been there for me to have someone ,like a friend, to hear and laugh along with. Menopause can be very lonely at any stage as every woman has it differently. So I am glad I bought this book and will read on, but it is also nice to know it is there unread. Would recommend this book and yes I do have real friends but sometimes you don't want the world to know everything. She is funny and embracing of change and age. I think she is grounded, intelligent and her own woman. I did not think of her in that light before. Would recommend
