Lindy pickups - YES! Get them!
I replaced the factory pickups in my MIM Jbass with these. I pretty much GUTTED my bass as I just wanted a project. I think I played every_single_YouTube video I could find comparing pickups. I knew I wanted passive, and something about Lindy's just struck me as "my tone." Since I replaced, Bridge, nut, pots, pickups, shielded the cavity all at the same time. . . . this might not be completely fair. But. .my bass sounds SOOOOO much more alive now. I guess the analogy I would give is that factory sounds like a person talking to you with their head tucked inside their winter coat. With the Lindy's . . . it like a face to face conversation with no background noise. I am running Ernie Ball Nickel round-wound and they are bright(for my taste.) Yes, I would recommend these to people wanting precise, clean sound.

My third set of Fralins
I installed these on my MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. The original PUPs were good, these are simply better; clear, well-articulated, with booming lows and crispy highs. Well worth the money! I also had a set on my MIJ Precision bass; I got the WIlbur Bascomb tone I was looking for. And I just installed a set on my American Professional Jazz bass; the stock pups were wimpy. The Fralins made that bass come alive.

Great sounding pickups
Great sounding pickups. Installed them on a parts bass and it's just a beautiful sound- balanced and focused with plenty of good growl, and with great touch sensitivity. A huge improvement over regular pickups.

The only Bass Player in the world that doesn't prefer Fralins
After months of research, and reading review after review, I finally decided on the Lindy Fralin Jazz Pick-ups for my MIM Deluxe Jazz Fender bass. They are a very popular Bass player's choice for Jazz replacement pick-ups. My MIM bass came with Fender Noiseless pick-ups, which sound really good (despite all the negative comments you see online). I had hoped the Fralin pick-ups would make the bass sound even better. But to my surprise, I like the original Fender Noiseless more. Not that the Fralins sound bad, in fact not at all. They sound much warner, and a tad darker, and definitely have a vintage sound. But in my opinion, and to my ears, the Fender Noiseless pick-ups sound brighter, have way more growl and more punch (everything I was expecting from the Fralins). I changed out the pick-ups twice just to make sure. I still gave them a 4 star review, because they are good sounding pick-ups. I'm just really surprised that I prefer the sound of the original Fender Noiseless pick-ups. Many Bass Players rave about the Fralin pick-ups, and how they bring their basses to life. They just didn't do that for me.
