Looks great and functions better.
This is a great knife. For a knife that is all steel, it is surprisingly lightweight. The handle is a nice smooth steel finish that some may feel doesn't provide the best grip, but I think it looks really good and I don't think a knife of this size really needs any type of substantial grip. The profile is very slim and slips into a pocket securely and doesn't bulge at all. The pocket clip seems strong and is stiff enough that it won't slip on even a thin fabric. The pocket clip is also reversible so the blade can be stored point up or down (the manual that comes with the knife actually recommends how to safely store in each of 4 typical pant pockets). The knife manual also provides some other useful information including what type of screws the clip is fastened with. I believe they are T5 or T6 torx screws. The actual blade is very sharp and has a great edge. As mentioned by some other reviewers, the blade tapers to a very small point. If you plan to use the blade as a screwdriver or to pry something, it may damage the tip, but I have not tested it. Probably my favorite thing about the knife is the SpeedSafe opening mechanism. This thing opens very quickly and smooth with one hand which is a great feature. No "wrist action" is needed, just a press of the index finger and you're ready to go. I have a Leatherman knife that I love, but the "blade launcher" requires a lot of wrist flick to actually get it to open fully. The safety slider is simply operated and good to have on a blade that opens with such velocity, especially if you plan to keep it in your pocket. When the blade is opened, the locking mechanism is actually the frame/grip of the knife. This helps keep the blade very slim. The lock is very sturdy, but it doesn't seem to engage 100% unless you manually press it in. I don't think it is a performance problem at all, but it's worth noting. Perhaps it will once I use it often enough. This is the first Kershaw knife that I have purchased. Its packaged with the manual in a small black and red Kershaw box which looks nice and clearly states "Made in the USA". Not some plain white box with a big made in china sticker. I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone looking for a nice looking and reliable knife. It would also make a great gift. It looks, feels, and performs well.

It is a great little knife!
I have been carrying this knife pretty much daily for a decade. Yup....ten years! Perfect size and weight for front pocket carry. You forget it is there until you need it. Solid clip with great hold but not too tight. Blade comes out lightning fast and is sturdy when locked out. I like the sharp tip on the blade and the serrations make it so much more useful with popping off zip ties and whatever you need to dig into. The perfect knife for me obviously. Only down side to this knife if I have to be picky is the blade lock mechanism. It would lock sometimes by accident when putting in or out of pocket. I just removed it all together soon after I started carrying it and it never deploys accidentally so I don't think it is really necessary. Just my preference. Every two or three years I will take it apart/clean/lube as needed. You will notice it getting slower to open from pocket lint and usual little bits of crud working into the mechanism area. I recommend the all silver version instead of the black option. The black seems to get beat up and show use where the black starts chipping off (from pics I have seen). Mine still looks as good as when I bought it with just wear on the edge of the blade. Hope this review helps you!

17 years and going strong
Great EDC. Slim, light and razor sharp. I have it in my regular rotation of pocket knives when I want something smaller than my Kershaw Blur. Purchased mine here 17 years ago and itโs like the day it arrived.

Perfect carry knife.
As a 30+ year military veteran, I have relied heavily on carry knives as tools for most of my life. This is my 5th Leek knife in 8 years. (TSA owns my first 4. DOH!). So itโs not a quality issue. The stainless steel is softer than you may want for prying things, but I bent one once and easily straightened it in a vice. Comes very sharp in the box. After a few uses just a couple swipes on a fine diamond stone bring it back to factory sharpness. It will get light surface rust if you put it away wet, but the rust scrapes right off with a little thumbnail pressure. Weight, size, and slender design make it comfortable and out of the way when in any pocket. (Verified by TSA agents always noticing it before I do.) This being my 5th Leek, sometimes they arrive very hard to open or a little loose. A couple seconds with a torque driver will get the tightness action exactly as you want it. One tightening usually lasts a year or so. I found the safety catch a little tedious for one-handed use, so I just tightened it in the permanently unlocked position. Havenโt had an unintentional opening so far. I have large hands and they have never felt as though they were slipping on the handle. Itโs my go-to sailboat knife. If you need a sharp, versatile, light, comfortable, and low maintenance knife for daily use youโll be happy with this. If you need to cut down a forest, pry open paint cans, or store it in the ocean floor, you wonโt be happy.

Great Quality!
We had to purchase this knife after my husband accidentally brought his other pocketknife in his carry-on luggage at the airport and had to discard it. This Kershaw Leek has been a fantastic replacement! The assisted opening and dual lock system make it easy and safe to use, and the Sandvik steel blade holds up really well. Itโs become his new everyday carry knife, and weโre both very happy with it!

Perfect pocket knife
This purchase was a gift for my father. However i have owned the same knife for some time now. It is the perfect little pocket knife, fitting perfectly into my pocket i hardly ever notice its there. Nothing to fancy about it with the exception to the quick release of the blade. The blade has stayed sharp on mine for awhile now even after cutting aluminum cans in half. I have broken the tip off mine a few times prying stuff open with my knife. Kershaw has replaced my knife after mailing it in every time free of charge (minus the charge of shipping the knife to them) despite saying on there website they will not replace knives with broken tips. In all the knife can take a pretty good beating and still perform as expected. I would recommend this kinfe to my friends and i have bought it for my family members. ***Update to original Review*** It has been almost a year since my original review. I am still impressed with this knife, it still functions and has held up fine. It has dulled out a bit since i have originally purchased it. I can no longer shave the hair off my arms with it. I have used this knife in the ocean to cut lines on my boat and it does rust rather quickly and the speed safe does start to slow down after awhile. I have cleaned it a few times and oiled it and it will begin to work again fine. I am still impressed with this knife especially with the 100 percent lifetime warranty kershaw offers. I have seen this knife retail in stores for twice the price listed on Amazon and would not recommend, at that price there are better knifes. However for 30 dollars this is a very good knife.

Great knife, poor tool
I'll keep it short and sweet. I got the ken onion leek and right out of the box it was so sharp I could (and did) shave with it. The serration is not a staggered pattern but more of a rolling speed bump pattern...although very effective. The opening assitance is very fast and easy to actuate, but not overly easy as to open unexpectedly. My only issues with this knife is the thickness of the blade. The blade is very thin and with a little bit of abuse it might break, The blade on my SOG flash II is significantly heavier. The point of the blade is very "pointy" and needle like at the tip. The last qualm is the finish...its a very low profile knife with sleek ergonomics, but theres not much as far as "grip" or traction goes. The body of the knife is smooth stainless steel. This knife rides a little high in the pocket for my tastes, because you can see a portion of the knife....they could have done a better job here making the knife ride lower in the pocket....My SOG is invisible other than the clip. I give this a 4 out of 5 for value, features, and usefulness....very sharp and fast, great for the home and light recreation, but if you need a tool you can abuse, Id look else where. God bless -Shred

Best letter opener evar!
Yes, that is what I use this for mainly, I have a Benchmade Mini Barrage that is my workhorse pocket knife, but I wouldn't be sad if I only had this one. In fact I carry this on me if I'm wearing a suit because it's much thinner/low profile. The assisted open mechanism is great, I've fidgeted with it many times and it works just as good as when I first got it. The locking mechanism is very good. I switched the clip for the left because I am sinister. The knife comes razor sharp. It has opened many letters, sliced off hanging threads. I honestly would be worried about the point of the knife under heavy use, but for rope cutting, bark stripping, fish gutting and tinder shavings this knife will get er done.

Perfektes EDC!
Spring auf wie der Blitz und schneidet wie ein Laserstrahl. Top Verarbeitung, da gibt es aber auch *gar* *nix* zu meckern. Klein, aber handlich. Immer dabei!
