HP USB-C Dock G5, 5TW10AA#ABB

Purchased through Amazon Warehouse to save some cash as these things are expensive brand new. Solid piece of kit, plenty of connectivity options and works really well with my current home office setup - dual screens plus laptop, camera, headset and wireless keyboard and mouse.

Beware this is a G5 Dock NOT the dock shown in the photos. The front image for this is of a G2 dock not a G5. Very similar capabilities (look at HP website for more details). The G5 dock does not have DisplayLink (don't confuse with DisplayPort connectors - two different things). The G2 does have DisplayLink capability. I bought this to use with my MacBook Pro M1, which has to use DisplayLink to be able to work with two external displays and my HP work laptop. Returning this on as it was not as displayed. That said the dock itself is good quality and does what it does well. However, a little pricy.

Does what it should, plug and play and I didn't realise that it works as a powerpack for the Laptop too

This product does not have a UK plug so don't buy it for UK-based work.

Bought this "renewed" HP USB-C G5 docking station and it works great. Although it says renewed, I don't think anyone has ever used this item - I could not find any sign of use (tiny scrattch, dust on port connections etc.) -so I am very happy with this purchase and use it with my HP Pavilion 14 laptop.

This HP USB type C dock G5 was advertised as a brand new item and is dispatched from US. Which for me was fine as I wasn't in a hurry to get it and it was a good price as compared to UK prices. Anyway, it arrived in a week or so by Royal Mail and upon unpacking it, I find it with scratches all over the unit and to be this looked to be a refurbished or used dock. It certainly didn't look like a new unit As it looked only cosmetic and the fact that I would have had to lose £15 to return it. Proceeded to set up and use it Buyers need to be aware that the dock comes with a US style plug and not a UK one. Luckily I had a spare UK plug for this type of connector so could test the unit straight away. So beware of this if you're expecting an UK plug. Other reviewers also called this out but some said it came with an EU style power lead. So I guess it depends on which region the dock was shipped from. Functionally, it did the job and I could power all my three monitors; 1 x 2k, 1 x ultrawide and a third FHD display without any issues via the two display ports and single HDMI. The two USB A female connections on the back and the extra two USB type A oh the side of the dock were also needed and all worked as expected. Can't comment on the long term operational reliability but for now it works as expected. I have docked 2 star off as this was mis-sold as 'new' but as it's a docking I can live with it due to the lower asking price. Will update if I encounter any issues during usage as I'll be using it daily.

Happy with the product, had been using more of a temporary solution but this is an upgraded permanent solution in my home office. Easy to setup and compact design means it doesn't make up too much desk space

Premetto che desideravo una dock Thunderbolt ma quelle prodotte da HP stranamente non hanno porte hdmi bensì dp..ho dovuto quindi ripiegare su una dock usb-c. Il mio giudizio è temporaneo, l'ho ricevuta pochi giorni fa e non ho provato tutto. Collegata ad un HP Zbook G7, configurata con i suoi drivers. Porta hdmi funziona regolarmente, porta fuori 4k hdr come voluto, tramite scheda video Nvidia del notebook. Porte usb testate con due dischi, un hdd e un ssd (via adattatore sata-usb). Tasto luminoso della dock mette in sospensione il pc collegato, può essere comodo. Alimentatore da 120w è ben dimensionato e carica il notebook se necessario. Ritengo che, in offerta, può essere un ottimo acquisto (il prezzo di Amazon è stato ottimo). Al prezzo proposto da HP avrei dei dubbi.
