Upgrade of OEM shocks on Slash 2wd VXL - amazing!!
I've been racing my 2WD VXL slash on 2S for a while at an indoor dirt/clay track. The stock required I change shock oil to about a 50wt. That helped but ride height was tricky and racing on a track was hard. I upgraded to some oversize Amazon shocks - much stiffer with heavier springs. I used 50/40 wt shock oil and that was better but did not have any movement of the shocks except huge jumps. It would chatter in high speed bumps on a corner as the suspension wasn't dialed in right. I didn't need sway bars as the shocks and springs were so hard. These are like the bears and oatmeal. First too soft, second too hard, these - just right! It is a dual spring per shock (think dual rate). The small black spring is very soft and once it compresses fully, the white spring compression starts. This makes the chatter bumps almost a non-issue as the shock oil weight is 45/40, the compression is better. I am looking at other spring rates and oils to really dial it in, at least I found a shock I feel I can do that with. Granted - not cheap, but you are getting what you pay for. BTW - these come empty so you have to add your own shock oil.

Great
Love them just wish for the price that they came with mounting hardware and the other springs to fine tune them...other than that they work amazing

Not worth the money! Warning please read
These do not come with the top pivot balls, then they want you to spend another 16$ to buy the install hardware lol I'm serious. Just go with the hot racing big bore shocks they always have the install hardware. However I'm not saying don't support a local seller it's not the fault of someone else it's proline they should know better then to not include the install hardware. Just so they can charge a extra 16$ plus shipping.

Give them a chance!
So when I first filled them and installed them I almost wrote a review that they were too stiff. I decided to run a few battery’s before writing the review and I’m glad I did. When you fill them and break them in you will fall in love. The rebound and dampening is awesome, and they really help with stability. I used losi 50wt and they’re perfect. My biggest complaint with Traxxas suspension is it works good for a few hours than they get soft, you won’t have that with these. 10/10 would recommend

Fantastic build quality
Great upgrade for the front of the Axial RR10 Bomber. On the springs that came installed on the shocks I have the preload dialed all the way out (top of the shock) and currently have 25 weight oil in them. Might need to go lighter on the front for crawling but it works pretty well for general all terrain driving. Build quality on these shocks is so nice I want to eventually replace the stock GTR shocks on my Slash. The top small springs work great over small imperfections and minor bumps. The longer springs handle the rest. I have the XL length on the rear of the Bomber.

Best shocks ever made
Absolute best shocks on the market I don’t care what anyone says I will use these until I die, great price, value, and durability. I have taken these to a skatepark and jumped a 12 ft bowl and the shafts still haven’t bent!

***BROKEN ROD END ON 2ND SMALLER SIZED JUMP
With the price and reviews on these I assumed they would be better/ stronger than traxxas gtr shocks. I was at the track with my slash ultimate, did one warm up (roller) lap then was going on the clock. On the2nd medium sized jump the rod end on one of the rear shocks snapped right off. Wasn't a hard landing at all!! I just ordered some rod ends but will just stick with gtr if it breaks again. I've jumped/landed all crazy like with traxxas gtr and they get 5 star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I will update after I'm actually able to really use the shocks! Hopefully it was just a fluke. Good luck y'all ✌🏻

Love hate relationship
So first of all watching old pro-line reviews and older reviews on here leaking shocks seemed to be due to an older oring syle called an xring(great theory but just doesn't work ive dealt with xrings in other applications) the ones I got have regular rings and do not leak. The most annoying part about this shock set it how much extra you have to buy to get them to work. I noticed people saying that these shocks didn't require changing the spring rate and for most people putting these on 2wd cars that is probably true. However i put these on a 4x4 rustler and a slash would require the heavier springs as well so for 20$ front and then rear that is an additional 40$ for the set PLUS you need a mounting kit luckily you just need one mounting kit for front an back but that is an insane amount for these shocks all said and done at 140$I have to give these at least 4 stars because the performance is outstanding after tuning. The local park is pretty bumpy terrain with dips and ruts however you can watch the suspension work like a trophy truck with the body just staying level and maintaining control even at 50 plus mph weight transfer is smooth and really effortless on the rustler vxl 4x4 with pro-line trenchers. Front: red lower/secondary ,spring yellow top/primary 40 weight oil Rear: yellow primary and secondary spring 45w oil. They setup takes a lot of things into account when you watch drag cars you watch the transfer shift weight to the back tires this setup does that while keeps car from doing a wheelie but only to extend the primary springs you can still wheelie but only when you want to. Like i said couldnt be happier with performance although you can get that from traxxas gtr shocks for much cheaper maybe not as tunable which in the end was a lot of fun doing but may not be for everyone. The price is just insane for that price they should have charts and graphs showing what springs to order "on the shocks" for certain vehicles and intents of use. Instead of ok these should work but when they dont you have to pay an extra 50$ to tune anything oh and dont forget your mounting kit they dont work without that!
