SL-M820 Saint Shifter

Works great! And includes all the parts to mount it up!

I have a Salsa Timberjack that came with a Deore shifter/rear derailleur. The shifter has always been reliable, though a bit chunky requiring quite a bit of throw between shifts. Also, and yes this is superficial, but I don't like shifter indicator gauges. I’m perfectly happy with 10-speed for what I ride and I have Saint flat pedals which have proven to be indestructible, so I figured the Saint shifter would offer similar quality. I’m blown away! This is a huge upgrade over my Deore shifter. Shifts are very precise and clean, and I love being able to downshift four gears at a time, or upshift two. If you are looking for the best quality 10-speed shifter in the Shimano family then I imagine it’s hard to do much better than this!

Yup. 10 speeds, crisp shifts with positive engagement. This is my fifth one I think, and none were on downhill bikes. It just suits me better than any other shifter I've tried. It's like an XT that requires a little more effort for a very positive shift. Also does the double upshift like the XT.

I like the Shimano Zee shifter more and it is considerably cheaper than the Saint.

Arrived on time, undamaged, and as described at a reasonable price. Works as expected.

I've got this on my all mountain bike that sees DH, all mountain and XC. Paired with the shimano Zee freeride shortcage rear derailleur, shimano XT 10speed cassette and raceface narrow wide front chain ring. The shifting is fantastic with its long throw running through 4 gears with one push on the down shift and 2 gears on the upshift. Doesn't come with a gear indicator but I find those are usually the first to break on my past shimano shifters anyways. I am very happy with the way it looks and performs.

I have Saint 9sp gear on my All Mountain rig and got spoiled by he precision and instant shifts. This new 10 speed model is even better, as it will upshift 2 gears at a time if you push on the lever or one if you pull. It can downshift like 4-5 gears in one push if you run it full stroke. Very high quality gear.

Habe mein Rad con 3x8 auf 1x10 umgebaut und der Schalthebel funktioniert sehr gut Runter kann man bis zu 3 Gänge auf einmal schalten, sehr praktisch vor steilen Anstiegen. Hoch ist mir erstens der Widerstand beim Schalten zu viel und es macht ein richtig lautes Knackgeräusch, was ich nicht mag. Die Ergonomie ist gut aber nicht perfekt für meine Finger, aber das kann natürlich an meinen Händen liegen.
