very useful
If you're looking at this accessory, you already know what Black + Decker's Matrix system is. This air pump has become one of my favorite and most used accessories in the system. The convenience, portability and ability have made this my pump of choice. The other compressors I have, haven't even been used since I got this pump accessory. Not only does it attach to the cordless tool body, but the corded drill body as well. That makes it excellent for in shop jobs. This is a pump for pressure, not volume. So, If you're looking to fill inflatables, this won't be the pump you'll want. It would do the job but much too slowly. My neighbors have learned that I have this and I am now the guy they seek when they need their car tires inflated. I myself own several bicycles. With inflation pressures from 65 to 110 psi this pump can handle them all. This also has onboard storage for the presta adaptor and sports inflation needle. I think so much of this pump, that I've purchased a second, just incase the one I'm using now, fails.

Great for those few tires that always leak! (Hose gets hot fair warning)
WOW! On x1 1.5 amp battery that i had been using it pumped all 4 four of my tires! 2 tires were at 28 psi and went up to 32 psi. two other tires that are slow leaking on me were at 18 and 20 psi. It took 3-5 minutes to pump the ones that were really low but I ended up pumping them all to 35 PSI (according to the gauge) because other reviewers have said it reads 1-2 psi too high. But wow Im impressed! I am gonna buy a whole second matrix and 2 amp battery just to keep in my car just for this attachment! (charger and power inverter too of course) CON: The only thing I've found that could be an issue is how hot the air tube gets and the metal fittings and gauge. Could be dangerous but I'm in detroit so its so cold. I make lemonade and call it a free hand warmer :D Tip: Would make for a good car kit to have a spare matrix 20v in the trunk, the impact driver attachment with a socket adapter and the socket size for your lug nuts! (plus the battery, charger and a small 1 amp power inverter incase the 20v battery dies on ya) That way if you get a flat, and your spare is low on air, you can pump the spare in your trunk, then remove the lugs with the impact driver, also you can know they are tightened good from the impact driver and feel safer riding down the road on a non professionally installed tire. For sure what I'm doing. (Plus its always nice to be prepared in case a pretty lady is stuck with a flat and you have a mobile tire shop)

Best B&D accessory ever
Best B&D accessory ever!* I have had small AC compressors, many emergency jumper batteries that include compressors. This tool is a quantum leap above all that came before. I bought a Matrix drill, because you cannot have too many cordless drills. I bought this accessory because my emergency battery was ruined. So, why does this rock. 1. Fast, did I say FAST. The compressors I have used before start to crawl around 28 PSI. This morning I went from 28 to 35 PSI in well under a minute. I recently sold my other car & left my pressure gauge in it so I cannot verify how accurate the gauge is. New pressure gauge on the way, I will amend this review if there is a problem. 2. Quiet for what it is. About 50% less loud than my last jumper battery. 3. Lightweight 4. Extremely ergonomic. You can connect it & position it so the gauge is easy to read. The hose could be a smidge longer for when the stem is at the very bottom of the tire. 5. Great design on the storage of the ball needle. One downside, be careful, the compressor will get so hot it could definitely burn a misplaced hand on the compressor or the hose. *If you have need to fill tires, balls, etc

Good for smaller applications
I've tried this out on a couple different things. First, I used this on some totally flat golf cart size tires on a commercial mower for a bigger tractor. It took a few minutes to do 2 tires but it worked. The one part of the hose got very hot. The next time I used this was on my bike tires which were flat pretty much as well. This didn't take hardly any time at all. It worked great with no complaints. The last time I tried using this on a car that had minor differences in pressures from what the manufacturer rates. I was unsuccessful. It was taking awhile and I didn't really see results. I used a seperare gauge. I don't know if the gauge works or not, I haven't been paying attention to it too much because I went for feel on the other tires. It was night time when I tried this on the car and used an illuminated digital gauge. I think this works pretty good for smaller tires. Probably would work good for inflating basketballs and such too. In a pinch this will work for a car, but not overly impressed.

Another great addition to the B&D Matrix system
I've been using the B&D line of Matrix-based tool heads for several years now, drill, mini-saw, saber saw, sander, you name it. While they are not suitable for jobs involving heavy duty or extended work, they are incredibly well designed for addressing typical homeowner needs. I even have their mini hedge trimmer, which I've found to be great for touch ups. This is another cleverly designed tool in the arsenal of ones that will fit on the Matrix power handle (mine is the 20V model). It is a bit noisy, and does get hot in extended use, but the convenience is unreal. I have a serious compressor I used to resort to when needing to pump up a bicycle tire after changing a tube or for topping off tires on my cars and it's a royal pain to set it up for such minor tasks. This makes that exercise trivial. I find it just as easy an insert on my Matrix power handle as any of my other matrix tool heads. It is no more difficult to attach to a tire valve than the tire gauge I have for my large compressor. If you use the Matrix tool system I can recommend this as a worthy addition to your collection of heads.

Another great attachment from the matrix line

This attachment is extremely convenient, it allows me to top up the tires on my car quickly and easily. I have a compressor I keep in the car as well as one built into a jumper box in the garage. However, this is much easier to use than either, as this is lighter and more compact. It took about 90 seconds to top up a 225 x 55 x 18 tire 8 psi. When I topped up all 4 tires 8 psi, the metal fittings around the tire gauge and especially the one coming out of the compressor portion were extremely hot, so one must be careful when handling it after extended use. The pressure gauge is fairly accurate but the size of it makes it hard to read accurately so it is best to have a separate pressure gauge to verify pressures. After the extended use I found there was oil in the coupling area - picture of the residue i cleaned up with a tissue.below - I suspect came from the compressor portion. I am a little concerned but I will not be using this daily but will monitor. There is also a compartment on the head that contains a needle adapter and plastic adapter to inflate balls and air mattresses which is very handy. Overall I think this is a useful attachment to top up tires and inflate balls but probably not for extended and frequent use. I find it great to use in tight spaces given its compactness and light weight and minimal fuss with cords. The version I have is different than the one shown, as the pressure gauge has its own adapter that I can use without having to attach the hose - in picture below.
