Amazon Grocery, Crushed Red Pepper, 2 Oz

I was apprehensive about getting this product over the name brand, but was very pleasantly surprised by the quality. This is a high quality red pepper flake that packs a punch (as it should). I am interested in now trying other Amazon brand spices. The price was also very fair.

I grabbed the 2 oz Happy Belly crushed red pepper to keep on my spice rack, and it’s quickly become my go-to. The flakes have a nice spicy kick—warm and pungent without being overpowering—which is perfect for adding to pasta, soups, or pizza. The color is bright, almost a deep red-purple, which feels fresher than some other generic brands I’ve tried. It’s a great value: the jar is the right size for regular use, and the price is low enough that I don’t feel guilty sprinkling generously. I’ve used it on everything from barbecue sauces to scrambled eggs, and it always brings a noticeable punch. A couple of things to know: the heat level is mild-to-medium—not scorching. If you’re used to really fiery flakes, it might seem tame. Also, sometimes if the flakes settle unevenly, the first few dashes can be lighter, but shaking usually fixes that. Bottom line: Fresh-tasting, well-balanced spice at a great price. Ideal for everyday cooking if you’re looking to spice things up without going nuclear.

I use this for pizza and paste. Perfect spicy level for my preference. Great quality and quantity for the price.

This crushed red pepper is a fantastic pantry staple. It has a vibrant color and delivers a fresh, medium kick that enhances everything from pizza to pasta without being over-the-top. Great quality and a much better value than what I usually find in local grocery stores.
