Caldwell Brass Catcher with Heat Resistent Mesh, Collapsible, Mountable, for Range, Shooting, and Outdoors

I haven’t tried this because there is 3’ of snow on the ground currently but it looks like it will keep me from being on my hands and knees looking though the grass to find my brass. It came in the original packaging and it was all tore up from the post office delivering it but that’s not the seller’s fault, I was just happy it was all there. Very sturdy construction. Hopefully it works as well as I think it will. Update: I tried this product out when I went shooting in July and had mixed results. It works pretty good to pick up bigger casings like 9mm and up but not so well with .22’s in the grass. Hard surfaces are no problem but it’s the grass that has the issue. Otherwise I think it’s a decent product and will keep using it.

This works really well on hard flat surfaces but not as well on dirt. Great quality but operation is affectex by surface. For me, it was worth buying.

I read several reviews and was worried about purchasing this product. I had the opportunity to try it out today. I used it in loose but densely packed soil as well as in grassy areas. The key seems to be the angle you hit the brass at and whether it is somehow held in place. The only force used to pull the brass into the cage is the spring tension of the basket itself. Applying excess force to the handle will not help. I picked up 3 pounds of mixed brass at my gun club today. I'll use it tomorrow in an area with a different soil and vegetation mix tomorrow. I expect similarly solid results. A tip from my experiences today. Use a couple of .45 shell slid to either end of a wire section to easily empty the brass into a container.

A little flimsy when fully extended, but when it’s not fully extended, it is quite stout. A very good contraption that works well. Picks up the brass and leaves the rocks behind.

It's works well for picking up the brass. It is kind of a pain in the but to use the piece that helps the brass come out. Half of the time I just use my hands to open up the basket. I do think it is worth the money if you reload. Good to pick up a lot of brass in a short amount of time. Never had any problems with the pole or cage being weak or unstable, quality material.

Collecting range brass and my own spent casings has never been easier!!!

Wanted one for years. When I got it box looked like it had been through a war. No paperwork inside for instructions or warranty. Took it to the range. It will pick up on concrete but only if case is parallel to roller. Try to pickup pistol cases in grass or dirt and you end up with as many spitting out onto ground as you pick up. Looks good but work’s terrible. I sent it back the next day. Very disappointed. I have other Caldwell items that work great.

It picks up handgun brass easily. For rifle brass, especially large caliber, I have to turn so that the casing is lined up with the wire openings. In any case, it saves my back a lot of strain and pain.

Worth it if you do any really shooting. This thing picks up everything from 22 to 12 ga brass I've only used it on grass and it still works great. You definitely need to use a bit of pressure. But it sure beats bending over to pick up the brass.

Long lasting works great

Pics higher caliber rounds (9mm, .45, .223, 10mm) on a gravel but not .22. Sometimes you'll be able to grab .22 but the brass is so small it just falls out again.
