DSX-B700 Media Receiver with Bluetooth Technology

Got this for my wife's birthday, and installed it in her Genesis. Fit well, and sounds pretty decent, with several adjustments possible, in the way of equalizer, crossover, etc. She loves the different color options for the display. The only downside to this unit, comparing it to a Pioneer 501BT, is that the volume level isn't as sensitive. My Pioneer, when the volume level is on 10, sounds more than twice as lout as her Sony. To get a comparable sound level, we are turning hers up to nearly 30 on the dial. Doesn't have as many adjustments that can be made, also compared to my Pioneer. Other than that, it's a nice little unit.

I purchased a Boss or (crap) and had to send it back and when I installed this in my sons Malibu he was VERY PLEASED and so was I!!! Great great sound and not to easy to use but it has power and punch!! It has an amazing microphone that has great voice quality and it come with the radio!! Sony is a very Good Brand!!!!

Great sound and great value. My only complaint is that the area above the 6 preset buttons is not backlit. At night you cannot see the secondary function of those preset buttons - play, pause, >>, << etc. That is my only complaint. Otherwise very happy with power, sound quality, connections, Bluetooth, USB, tuner all are excellent. Would recommend.

I like this Sony radio so much that I have 2 of them. One in my truck and one in our Honda. Good price for a solid double din. I only 7se bluetooth so all I needed was something simple. It automatically connects to my phone when I get in the vehicle. Has enough power for me. Volume is good but I am old so there's that. I have been installing stereos since I was a teen so this was no challenge to install. Microphone for calls works great. Simple ram the wire under dash and came up behind the trim on the pillar and out to the Visor where it is attached. Separate volume can be set for calls than the volume the music is playing at. Overall a great unit at a great price

It looks cool in the dash. Being able to change colors is nice. What would be great is if there were separate high pass filters for front and rear channels. And I didn't get enough voltage from the subwoofer outputs to run my sub amp. I had to use the high level signal coming from my amp, but that wasn't a big deal. The screen is a little hard to read during the day with sunglasses on. Sounds good I guess, no complaints. I like it.

Installed this in a 2006 Tahoe. Stereo is great, works exactly as I hoped. The bluetooth functionality works just like my newer vehicle that has built in bluetooth, which was a feature I was looking for. Phone auto connects via bluetooth as soon as the car is turned on to easily play music/audio from my phone, and to also take hands-free calls.

My 2 favorite features of this unit are not well advertised. Sound sync. I selected for my units lights to stay red. When music is playing with sound sync on, the red lighting dims in and out to the beat of the music. Auto-dim. You can set the time of the day the unit dims and a separate time when it undims, so if you like a blinding brightness level during the day, it will automatically dim for you around nighttime. To anyone with brightness concerns, forget that. Just make sure the first thing you do is adjust the settings, as it does not initially default to a max brightness level. Lastly, I know better about that mic that comes in the box. Forget that thing. It is not some magical superior sony mic. Order alongside it another one on Amazon that has the little foam piece. This one doesn't have it. It helps your caller on the other end hear you better. Call clarity is top quality on both ends.

I swapped out for an older Sony stereo in my 09 Tacoma. Simple job - even the Sony harness was the same, so no actual wiring was involved. Works well and sounds good. Unfortunately, the display is not bright enough when driving in daylight hours. Turned dimmer off and brightness to 10 and it makes no difference. Also, radio receiver not as sensitive as previous unit - some stations come in very weak now. So a mixed bag. Will live with it for now.
