Five Minute Devotions For Children

This devotional has been a wonderful addition to our bedtime routine. My daughters love the colorful illustrations and enjoy hearing about the different animals. My 4 year old has taken to the one particular devotion about ants and requests that one frequently. I feel like the devotion does take longer than 5 minutes but that is mostly due to the kids asking questions. My only con to this mostly pro purchase is the fast there are only a months worth of devotions in this book. I wish it had more like a years worth. The lessons are on point and relevant, it's quick so my 2 and 4 year olds will sit for it and they are beautifully illustrated. Great buy!

I bought this book to use as a bedtime devotional with our grandsons--ages 6 and 8--when we visited. They loved the stories about animals and liked answering the questions that go with each short devotion. The book is well-written and a good quality hardback book with lovely illustrations. An easy way to get in a short devotion before bed.

My kids are young but growing up so quickly and I know that one day soon their minds won't be as open to "mom's" idea of fun so I'm trying to use this time wisely. I want them to build a foundation with daily devotions but finding time is hard; this book has really helped. It is just the right length for a morning devo before everyone heads out the door. The stories are awesome simply because my kids listen and discuss.

I ordered this devotional for my kindergarten class and they loved it. The pictures are well done, interesting, and helpful. The devotional is not too long, but long enough and it is full of interesting facts about animals that relate very well to God's word. My only complaint is that I had to explain A LOT of the words in order for it to make any sense. I would suggest this for children who are 6-7 instead of 3-5 as many other reviewers suggested.

These short devotions are not only well written, but the art is beautiful as well. The words have been chosen for young hearts and minds and the concepts are easy enough for five and six year olds to practice their reading skills. I know no better way to ground a child in the love of Jesus than this little book.

I gave this book as a gift to a new mom who has twins. She (the mom) really liked it. I gave it a cursory view and it seemed an excellent book to read to very young children. If I hadn't liked it, I would not have given it as a gift.

I purchased this book for the Toddler Room in our church and upon reading it cover to cover I'm now ordering copies for my grandchildren as Christmas gifts. I also plan to order the other two devotional books written by the same author. The stories are factual, delightful and just the right length to hold the attention of a preschooler. Very nice illustrations, questions to ask and a Bible verse to accompany each story. This would make a wonderful gift.

My daughter is 5 years old and she has enjoyed listening to the stories and looking at the illustrations. The few stories in the devotional are short and informative. Each story gives you "glimpses" into different animals' behaviors(mostly undesirable) and how sometimes we may exhibit that same behavior. Each story also includes the desirable behavior that God wants from us and a Bible verse that goes along with that theme.My two complaints are:1. Does not include a prayer to "tie it all together" at the end of each devotion.2. Even with only doing one story a night at bedtime, we have already gone through the entire book and it has been less than a month.To make it more cost effective, for our next devotional, I'll try to find a childrens' devotional that will take us through the whole year.

I bought the 2 books. If you are looking for lessons that will teach your child values, these are great. They will also learn all sorts of interesting facts regarding animals. They are great for kids 3-7.
