Bought as a present but looks really good for the money.Several different attachments and comes in a sturdy case.Sure it will be very useful

Fantastic torch and soldering iron. Mine developed a fault and would not refill after a few uses. Contacted the email address on Amazon. Got a reply straight away. After a few emails the product has been replaced. Item works very well and does so for a good hour on low power. No need to use on full power as will overheats the soldering tips. This bad boy gets hot. It’s more than you need and consumables are available on Amazon. Case is nice and compact and holds everything as needed. Would like to see bigger tips but on low power it’s great.

Excellent blowtorch, nicely put together, quality packaging. I bought this to replace my ageing Portasol Pro, to use as a high power portable soldering iron to carry out repairs to vehicle wiring, which was a big mistake. Don’t get me wrong, as a blowtorch it’s brilliant, with enough power to carry out light plumbing work. But as a soldering iron, although effective, is a pain in the a**e to use. Firstly, due to the design of the carrying case, the torch must be pretty much dismantled and the tips stowed correctly before you can pack it away, and of course you have to wait til it cools down before you can do so. This of course means that it has to be assembled before use, which is fine if you’re going to be using it for a while on a long job, but for a run and gun repair, when you factor in assembly (involving the use of tiny spanners to attach your soldering tip to the catalyst) cooling period, and disassembly (again using the fiddly spanners) it turns into an involved operation. Also, when soldering vehicle wiring in barely accessible places, for effective heat transfer, you need to be able to rotate the body of the iron to present the flat side of the tip to the work, this is difficult to do when the main body is at 90 degrees to the tip. Again, I must stress that as a blowtorch, it’s as good or better than everything else out there. A lot of my disaffection stems from my own choice, but as a soldering iron, with the caveat that if used as a bench soldering iron permanently assembled for the task is pretty good. For the most part, feels like an afterthought. I will be keeping this, because, well, who doesn’t want a decent micro blowtorch. But I will be investing in the bigger brother Portasol 125watt, and not, unfortunately the soldering iron brother to this product, which also won’t allow you to stow the iron hot, which Portasol does. Click Off, pop the (heatproof) thermoplastic cap on, pop it into the case, close the lid, done, seconds flat.

Produkt bspełnia swoje zadanie ale jeśli ma tak być co 3 miesiące to na to sie nie godzę. W kwietniu zakupiłem cały palnik z końcówkami. W lipcu końcóka katalityczna przestała działać a siatka będąca w środku rozsypałą się. Musiałem niestety kupić nową końcówkę ale uważam, że to nie w porządku co 3 miesiace płacić 50 zł. Obecnie nie mam zamiaru zakupywać nową końcówkę, gdyż koszt roczxnego użytkowania równa się cenie kompletnego palnika.

I increased my rating to five stars from one cuz of great customer service. After I emailed the manufacturer explaining my problem, they got back to me the next day. After answering a few questions and sending a photo of the serial number, they sent a whole new unit to me and a prepaid label to return the old one. The new one works as it's supposed to, so I upped my rating to five stars. The LX-770 is a really nice torch and soldering iron for a great price. It heats up quickly and burns for a long time on a charge. The kit includes a number of useful soldering and other tips too. One thing you should know that isn't on this Amazon page: the company says only 3X-refined and higher butane should be used, not just "premium" or "high quality" gas. (You can find up to 14X butane out there; I never knew there were different kinds.) But the impurities in regular butane will cause it to not work well and will damage the torch, the company warns, so buy the 3X or higher stuff. It's a bit more expensive, but not much. My original review: This torch had so many good reviews, I really expected to love it. And I did, for the first two days. I planned to use it mostly as a soldering iron, and for two small projects I tried it on, it was great. But then today I was using it to solder some resistors and wires to LEDs. And when I was using it, or when I set it down, it just would stay lit for a short time, and then go out. I could still hear the gas flowing, but there was no flame and it got cold. It would relight, but then the same thing. This happened over and over again, so it was not a fluke. I tried pushing the lock button as far as possible. But the only way I could use it was to keep and hold the safety lever down with my thumb. Which I am not going to do long term. (I am using high-quality 5X butane.) My only choice is to return it. Although I like the design, I am reluctant to buy another Lexivon because of this experience and will probably try another brand. So disappointing!

Gekocht op Amazon als gebruikt 'als nieuw'. Eerste keer was defect apparaat, teruggestuurd en tweede brander in top conditie en inderdaad 'als nieuw'.. Prima brander, vervangende hulpstukken zijn wel extreem duur, maar goede kwaliteit.

Does not fit Dremel versatip without some work on the lath. I have a lath so I could make it fit and now it works flawless.
