NOT!!), saline, what will you. I have no problem with becoming older - hey, guys, even stars/planets live and die! I just want to age more gracefully and slowly. So...I started doing research on desertcart, and after much comparison and consideration of contents and reviews, decided to give Carole Maggio's system a try, purchasing both her Ultimate Facercise dvd set and her books (yes, both - I wanted to compare, plus, I'm a bibliophile). In all sincerity, I can give you my word that her books live on my bedside table and her dvd by my player. THEY WORK. End of story. BUT in this day of "time pressure", instant gratification, too much "boredom" because nothing keeps people's attention because they are not WILLING to GIVE IT TIME, you HAVE to be diligent and disciplined about this!! TWICE A DAY, approximately 15 minutes each time, for a couple of weeks, and then you can HALVE the time by going to her 8-minute sessions! Within THREE DAYS of doing the 16-minute routine TWICE a day, I saw differences, literally from my forehead down to my neck and everywhere in between. In 5 days, people who hadn't seen me for a couple of weeks were taken aback and asking me, what have you done?? You look FABULOUS! It's now been two weeks, my face and neck keep getting better (I am sticking to the 15-minute session - because I AM WORTH IT), and I am not slacking off, I am not missing a session. The dvd and book are wonderful complements to each other. The dvd is clear, straightforward, both written and verbal directions, plus excellent presentation of which muscles are being worked and improved with each exercise. The book goes into everything in more detail and is written with insight, understanding, knowledge, wisdom, and clarity. I love learning, so I can honestly say that I enjoy reading the book, highlighting, writing notes in columns or by the pictures. An added bonus is that Ms. Maggio is gracious and generous enough to be available to answer questions by e-mail and/or through her site. As well, the book has sections written wisely concerning diet, sleep patterns, state of mind, history of the exercises' development and evolvement, lots of before and after photos that are just wonderful testaments to the miracle of her system, as well as written testaments. Truly, there is no need to inject unnatural solutions into your body or to be cut up and risk a botched, but always obvious anyway, surgery, not to mention the expense, the healing, the "downtime", and the always artificial appearance when with a few minutes per day twice a day, this book can literally transform your life for a fraction of the expense and time and give you such peace of mind - not to mention the wonder of turning the clock back and "aging" with youthfulness, grace, and happiness. But it is up to you - PLEASE do NOT complain that it doesn't work if you can't give yourself the gift of 1/2 hour per day for two weeks and then 15 minutes per day. If you can't give yourself the present of those few precious and worthwhile minutes, I would re-examine your priorities, lifestyle, and sense of self-worth. But don't blame a lady who has given us an extraordinary means of looking and feeling fantastic! Ms. Maggio's system works, and if you can't afford the dvds at the moment, the book is a gem worth keeping and following! I am *cough* 49 years old and after performing the exercises in this book twice a day for a few months, I can see a difference. I cannot afford a face lift but I truly think this has been the next best thing for a) lifting my sagging jowly jaw, b) bringing my cheekbones back up and c) beginning to smooth those lines on my upper lip that betray all the cigarettes I smoked in my misspent youth. It does more than that but those other areas aren't my main concerns. The caveat? Just like bicep curls, it doesn't work if you don't do the work. And even though it's only a few minutes a day, it isn't a magic bullet. Buying the book won't change your appearance ... doing what the book teaches you, day after day after day, will change your appearance. For goodness sake, it's not going to make you look worse than you already do and what have you done in the past 90 days that has made any difference at all? Try it, do it full out and then judge. I do agree that some of the exercises take awhile do get the hang of but we're all grown ups here. You know when your muscles are working and when they're not. My cheeks and mouth and jaw ACHE when I am doing this correctly. In closing, this is an exercise program, not a bullet. Work it and it'll work. At least it did for me.

Comprehensive book
This book is a nice, complete guide to facial exercises. I do not have the videos, just the book, I am not an English speaker, and I understand how to make the exercises correctly just from reading the book alone. It take some practice to understand and feel the "energy" wich is implied in every one, but you will get it. I began to see a fresh looking in my skin, and improve some areas as well. There is only one exercise that I do differently, since it wrinkle a lot the area around my eyes (cheek builder) so I use my fingers to smooth wrinkles in this area while doing this particular exercise (I took this idea from a similar exercise in another face program and it has sense). I like specially some exercises like the jaw toner. Exercises seems to make a quick effect. But I only have 2 weeks using them. I recomend this book to somebody looking for learn some techniques to keep a fresh looking in his/her face. My own opinion about face exercises is that you should pick some ideas from more than one program, practice them, observe the results carefully, and then to choose which one is ok for you (maybe a combination of some of them). I have four differents programs in face building right now and I am seeing that all of them have some strengths and some weaknesses. So I will "customize" yhem to make my very own routine. I think that it is a combination of exercises for your own "problem" areas that will work best in the long term.

It works!
I got this book in December after a visit to a surgeon at the Moran Eye Institute. I'm still awaiting whether or not insurance will cover the surgery, but I think I will forgo having it, thanks to this book. Long story short, I was in a accident 20 years ago and had 5 surgeries to repair the left side of my face. Twenty years of gravity has made one eye much larger than the other, and the left side looks like it's melting off, as there are fewer nerves to help keep the muscles toned there. I just want to be symmetrical and look like me- the "right" me. I would like to avoid surgery, because you might not look like yourself afterward, and it only lasts several years. The Facercise program works. Just like the body needs toning, so does the face. I noticed results after a couple of days- the first thing I noticed was that the sockets under my eyes filled out. The other thing I noticed right off was the muscles in my nose really developed quickly. I like having a muscular nose. :) I got the DVD and loaded it on my iPhone. I only do the exercises once a day, and you're supposed to do them twice, but I'm really happy with the results I'm getting. My eyes are not the same size yet, but I don't notice the difference unless I look closely. I still have a slight jowel on the left side, but my right side looks five years younger than it did two months ago. My neck is totally toned, my eyes are larger and brighter, my cheeks are developing, etc. I look more awake and alive. When I don't do the program for a couple of days, I can see it in my face. I highly recommend this book, or just get the DVD and follow it daily. You'll like the results

OK, But Please Don't Try it in Your Car
This book is interesting. She gives exercises and as with all exercises, you actually have to do them to for them to work. I am trying to remember to do some of them each day to see what happens. Some of the instructions are not all that clear and easy to follow. She has a chapter on doing these exercises in your car. Why? I think that's a ir-responsible. I suggest that you do not do anything in your car while driving except driving , keep you mind and eyes on the road, not on your face an neck.

Facercise is great, but video better than book
The Facercise program is amazing. The book is very difficult to follow, unfortunately. I ended up buying the video for it that’s also available on Amazon, and once I *saw* the exercises performed, *then* the book made sense! If you were to buy only one (book or video, which cost $25), I’d say go for the video. For the first 5 days I did the exercises twice a day, and saw dramatic results. I continue to do them every evening before bed, for months now. That’s because whenever I stop for a couple of days, I see tiny reversals in the improvement I had made in my face. You really have to keep it up. But I’ve definitely noticed my jaw is tighter, my slight double chin is gone, my eyebrows are higher, and the “11’s” lines between my eyebrows are less indented. I will continue to do these face exercises because the difference is dramatic and only takes a few days to start seeing a difference (for better, when you do them, and for worse, when you don’t). The 5 Stars is for the Facercise program in general, but the book itself is nearly useless without the video, in my opinion.

Exercises Difficult to Follow - Lacking Detail and Images
The majority of this book drones on and on about the benefits of her program, rather than focusing on better descriptions and pictures for the 13 exercises it contains. There are 132 pages with approximately 100 of them being a lot of mambo jumbo chatter we could do without. Very disappointed that with all those pages only a couple photos are given per exercise that don't give a good visual of what you are supposed to be doing. I had expected more images to visually detail each phase of the exercise, but that is not how it is with this book. The written descriptions of the exercises are very complicated and difficult to grasp. Carole's explanations for us on how to perform these are not very well thought out, nor are the limited images provided . She should have more photos or supporting facial diagrams that point to each of the areas you need to touch, stretch, or rub across. I would much rather have paid for a short 35 or 40 page version of this book if it had more details, photos, and better descriptions of the exercises, instead of this lengthy novella that really doesn't focus on the reason I purchased it--how to do the exercises! Unfortunately, there is no way to return this book, otherwise I would!

Yes, it works.
Overall my results have been subtle, and more evident in some parts of my face than others, but I can see a noticeable improvement in my forehead, eyelids, upper lip, neck and jaw. Not so much in the lines from my lip corners to my nose, and my cheeks. It took a longtime to memorize them so I didn't have to keep checking the book. Rearranging them to start from my forehead down helps me remember (brows, eyes, eyelids, cheeks, etc.) If I was more rigorous in doing it at least twice a day, everyday, I know the results would be even better. I do believe the neck exercises have helped protect my neck when I fall (snowboarding). I just turned 60 and I am committed to keep doing them.
