Samsonite Compression Packing Bags, Clear, 12-Piece Kit (2-Pouch/4-Carry-On/4-Large/2-X-Large

I am very happy with these bags. I'm using the two smaller sizes to compress my clothes to fit into my carry-on. I had previously rolled all my clothes and my carry-on was full. After compression with these bags, my carry-on was half-filled. I was a bit skeptical before buying because I read some of the negative reviews, but the performance and price on these is perfect. The only thing that could be improved is giving the option to buy the various sizes individually.... I don't see myself ever using the jumbo sized bags, or even the suitcase sized ones. The carry-on size and pouch size are exactly what I needed. Followup: I also bought a pair of very similar Eagle Creek compression bags. The Eagle Creek bags leaked air in after a couple of days, while the Samsonite did not. So, with Eagle Creek I got 1 carry-on size and 1 full-size luggage bag for $10. With Samsonite, I got 12 bags at for $20. So Samsonite all the way here. I'll followup again after my trip to report on durability. But I'll be very happy if they make it on 1 long international roundtrip.

This is the second time I buy this product. Can't recommend it enough. When you are traveling, they solve your packing problems. Once you are home, they are great to keep your clothes and maximize the space available in your wardrobe. They are useful all year long.

For thick winter clothes, these are a miracle. Flying to visit some friends in a much colder climate in the middle of winter, I was worried how I could possibly pack enough warm clothes in reasonable size luggage. Piled my big thick fleece robe and pajamas, sweaters and such, remove the air and it's amazing how little space they take. Unpacking my one duffle bag was a bit like watching all the clown come tumbling out of the car at the circus! For more solid, less fluffy items such as denim they don't do much, pretty much just makes those items stiff and harder to pack. Of course the bags that seal with a vacuum cleaner are far more impressive than the roll up bags, but pretty much only useful if you're staying at the home of friends and family, or if you get very friendly with the hotel cleaning staff. The sliders do come off easily, you may want to remove one and keep in a zippered section of your bag to find easily. You only need one to seal all your bags. Nice selection of sizes, I'm overall pleased with this purchase.

We had to pack for a 6 week trip through 3 countries, and wanted to travel with the smallest luggage possible. So we thought we'd give these compression bags a try, but I didn't expect them to make much of a difference. I was so very pleased with how effective they were! It was amazing how much more we could pack into our luggage, and it truly was a game changer. With some clothes, such compression will inevitably produce wrinkles, but that was a non-issue for us. I'd say we had to steam/iron a few items maybe 2-3 times over those 6 weeks...Not a lot, but not zero. As for using them, we found a lot of luck with rolling the bags to get them as compressed as possible.

….the large was just too large, the small was just too small, but the medium was just right. My plan was to have a separate pouch for each day of our upcoming European vacation. I wanted to be able to have each day’s clothes in a separate bag, so there was no need to unpack the whole suitcase at each different hotel. If all of the pouches had been the mediums, my plan would have worked perfectly. It’s rather hard to get all the air out for compression packing, especially when using the large, but it was manageable. They seem durable enough as they are made with heavy plastic, but only time will tell. Overall, I maybe rated them a 3 when I could have given them a 4, especially since each pack of 3 was only $7, but I can’t get over my issue with the various sizes.

This product arrived the afternoon prior to taking off for 3 week trip with small luggage. It worked unbelievably well. We were going from temps in the 20s to 70s. The product does work the best on puffy things such as polar fleece, down and wool but even t-shirts, socks and underwear benefited from using these compression bags. This is the new way to travel for me. I would totally recommend using these and you will get the hang and tricks from using them. The one weak point is the plastic zip thing so don't lose it. We didn't as we were very careful. and if you do lose one, you can use the zip from any of the other bags, even those in use. This is one great packing invention that helped make our trip a success. Honestly.

Fraudulent item. These are advertised as "Samsonite Compression ... 12-Piece Kit" but it's actually only TWO compression bags and 10 useless bags. This bait and switch item should instead notify buyers in one of the first descriptions of the product that only two of 12 bags can be compressed. Also, the seal does not feel strong or premium. It is average or below average. There's no reason to buy this product. You can get 2 compression bags for much less than $16 that I paid. I want a refund but cannot get one because I bought this too soon prior to my travel and the refund window is now closed and now I have only 2 compression bags instead of 12 to use.

I bought two sets of these bags for our (two people) long stay abroad and we're packing for multiple climates. When I opened the package I thought they were too flimsy to last but that was wrong. They're actually quite sturdy. The included clips work well to close them even when stuffed. Once you get the hang of it you'll be unpacking and repacking during a long trip with ease. Each bag holds an amazing amount of clothing for its size and heft. In fact you'll have to be careful about airline weight limits. Just because your clothes take up less space, doesn't mean they weigh any less. You'll pack more stuff than you thought possible, but use a scale to check the weight of your luggage before leaving for the airport.

Made packing for a 6 week overseas holiday a dream. Needed both summer and winter clothes, these made it so much easier to pack everything in! Very easy to compress on the go too as not all the bags require a vacuum.

These are fabulous. Our family of three (two adults and one teenager) were able to pack for a week long cruise using one suitcase and these bags. I’m mostly writing this review because one person mentioned sending their bags back due to lack of vents. Only the largest bags have a vent in the side. The smaller bags have a channel vent at the bottom. We fill and seal the bags and then slowly sit or lie on them to remove the air. I was worried the air would creep back in the channel, but that hasn’t happened. They are a bit thin, but it’s not been a problem and I think you’d need something has to to rip or puncture these. The largest bags are quite big. I think we’ll only use those when moving our oldest kid back and forth from university.
