Compact and Clear Magnifier for Close-Up Work
The Carson LumiLoupe 10X Stand Magnifier is a fantastic little tool for anyone who needs a closer look at fine details. Its 10X magnification is incredibly clear, allowing me to see even the tiniest features on coins, stamps, or intricate crafts. The 1.0-inch lens is the perfect size for portability while still providing a wide enough view for comfortable use. The clear base design lets ambient light in, ensuring excellent visibility without the need for additional lighting. It’s lightweight and sturdy, making it easy to hold steady over your subject. This magnifier has been a game-changer for my hobbies and small repair work, and the price is unbeatable for the quality. Whether you’re into collecting, crafting, or just need help with small print, this is a reliable and practical tool to have on hand. Highly recommend!

Excellent tool for photography and artifact examination.
This little loupe is great for analyzing photographic contact sheets and full sized photographs for details. I also use it on occasion for looking closely at books. I collect rare books and look for damage, gutter marks and other artifacts. I have other tools for this, including headgear lenses, but the loupe is less bulky and i keep it on my desk as opposed to having to dig out a big piece of headgear. It's stored in a little box, which I keep it in to prevent or at least deter dust. It does not have a light, but the clear design on the bottom lets ambient light in. I've never had a problem with it. I wear reading glasses for close items, but it doesn't seem to matter when I use this loupe. 10X is powerful enough for me to see detail in fine grain leather or blemishes in paper. A very inexpensive tool which should last a very long time. Not much to say in the "Cons" area. I bought this loupe for a purpose and it works.

Small field of clarity, but inexpensive and can be handy.
Much the same as what others have said - the central cone of "clarity" (aka not blurry) is pretty limited. I bought it for looking more closely at maps, but I have to have it right directly over the area and that scope of clarity is very small. I tried flipping the lower lens to no avail. For the price, and for the right application (10X magnifying small areas such as a coin or stamp maybe?) it works great. But for the price, it's not worth sending it back.

Does a good job replacing the vintage Agfa 8X Lupe
The Archive uses a number of loupes spread around the facility. Our loupes seem to have legs as they are always wandering off and getting lost. So we are in need of a constant supply of high quality budget priced loupes. Clean vintage Agfa 8X Lupes are getting very hard to find, so we were in search of a replacement loupe to adopt. The vintage Agfa 8X Lupe was probably the best budget priced loupe ever made. (Note: Agfa spells loupe as lupe) The vintage Agfa 8X Lupe was the standard for loupe excellence in the graphic arts industry in the 1970's - 1980's and beyond. And note, the modern day Agfa Lupe is not the same optical quality as the vintage model. Many of the competition's loupes need to be screw focused or raised off the subject to focus them. Some of the loupes work better if you use them upside down. Others won't yield a sharp image no matter what position they are in. There is a wide range of budget priced loupes out there and they are all different as to sharpness and field of view. The vintage Agfa 8X Lupe image is sharp when you put it flat on an object and focus is perfect as-is. An issue with some of these adjustable loupes is; even if you adjust the focus it wont stay put. The focus is loose as a goose. Also important is the Agfa's wide field of view which makes it easy to use, which is especially important for cine' film work in the Small Gauge Film Archive. When using a loupe in the wet darkroom for process camera work you needed a loupe that was fast to focus, didn't need adjustments and could be gripped with a wet hand. The vintage Agfa Lupe fit the bill perfectly. The Carson LumiLoupe 10X Stand Magnifier #LL-10 is a suitable budget priced replacement for the vintage Agfa 8x Lupe. It has very good sharpness and wide field of view. I'd judge it about 90% or more as good as a vintage Agfa 8X Lupe. Before we adopted them in the Archive I purchased 3 of the Carson LL-10's to test...all 3 were the same high quality view when it came to sharpness. Although the ergonomics are not as good as the Agfa 8X Lupe, the Carson has an indentation that allows for some grip control. But if you don't hit the indentation it can slip out of your hands due to its slope design. Before settling on the Carson LL-10 we tried 14 other budget priced loupes and magnifiers. None could compare to the Carson LL-10 for all the qualities we needed in a loupe. Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival Collection

Solid product!
If this were twice the price, I wouldn't give it five stars. Maybe 4. But for the price charged, it's s very good value and quality! I noticed in the reviews that a couple of people said they used it in the field to identify insects, and that was what sold me. For the past 8-9 months my yard has been going through a plague, and how these critters are managing to get indoors is something I just haven't figured out. I have found what I think might be biting midges just everywhere! And they like to chow on me, which is getting old. I've managed to kill them pretty regularly with DE applications, but they are just too small. Even with my glasses on, I haven't been able to confirm what they are. I finally wised up and got this product, and now I can see them so much better. I still don't know what they are, but I'm one step closer. Note that it works best on a flat surface under a bright light. My desk lamp is perfect. In a different spot with crappy lighting, I can't see them well at all.

Good magnification.
This loupe seems to be well made. I found the image somewhat distorted around the edges, but the center is clear. My coworker is very pleased with the clarity and ease of use. For those comfortable with loupes, this product works quite well. If you are less comfortable with them, the distorted edges make this particular loupe harder to use than a model with less magnification.

Great loupes!
Back in the 1980’s there were photography stores in every town and cities. You could buy magnifying loupes in every shop, but some did not work that well as the pre-focus was off. I bought a Carson loupe and immediately recognized its superiority to other loupes with my first use. I returned to the vendor and bought several more. Over the years I gave two Carson loupes away to impressed friends. On a whim I thought I would buy a loupe recently and was quite delighted that Carson Loupes were being sold by Amazon. I purchased two and compared them with Carson loupes I purchased forty years ago. They are the same quality product! When a company is still manufacturing the same product for forty plus years and there isn’t a detectable difference, it has got to be good, because consumers keep buying it!

Simple et utile
Très simple d'utilisation, le grossissement annoncé semble au rendez-vous, la vision est nette. La collerette transparente laisse bien entrer la lumière pour faciliter l'observation. Excellent rapport qualité/prix!

Pretty neat!
Can't complain about this little thing, pretty cool and helpful for taking up-close photos of things. I have the 10x one and I've attached a photo of a wristband, LCD screen, and a watch that were taken through the loupe with my phone camera. Pretty neat and can't wait to use it to take some photos of nature things like bugs and whatnot. Things look even better with your eye and not with the camera too!
