KA-BAR US Army, 7 in, Leather Handle, ComboEdge, Nylon Sheath

All the claims are true. This is one well made, and VERY sharp knife. Blade came RAZOR sharp from the factory. Grip material, while leather?, is VERY hard. There is no "squish" or "softness" in the grip material. Grooves around the grip really help you to hold onto the knife handle. Thinking sweat will also flow away much better. The serrated portion of the blade is only grooved/cut into one side of the blade. The back side of the serration is smooth. I would think this might make it easier to sharpen the serrated part, as you only have to do one side. The sheath seems to be well made. It is very rigid/hard plastic. There is nice "snap in" feeling as you push the knife in that last inch to the sheath. Also, the sheath allows the knife to be inserted in either direction (for wearing it on the left or right side). Sheath also has slots on the sides so you can add straps to keep it against your thigh/or maybe even calf. The large plastic buckle at the top of the sheath doesn't seem to have an obvious purpose to me, and would get in the way if you want to wear it on a belt. Perhaps there is an application to military equipment that I don't know about.

Stacked leather grip and serrated edge is the way to go. The serrated edge makes it so much more useful. Can easily cut anything 100 times easier then with a plain blade. The knife is made in the US, the holster is not. But it works perfectly with it. Locks in place and has several mounting options. Great price for a classic with a modern sheath. Perfect survival, defense knife. Too large to carry though for me. But will last forever.

Ka-Bar makes amazing knives. They're tougher than any knife I'ver ever had and stay sharp long due to the good metal used to make them and their girth. I highly recomend getting a partially serrated edge so cutting rope is easier. Also the sheath is nice and durable. The leather sheath just looks a little old fashioned for me though I have no problem with it. I got the ARMY engraved one because I'm in the Army and I don't think it'd go over too well if I carried one that said U.S.M.C.

As always K bar makes great product and comes sharp. Sheath is meh but can always get a custom one made. Looks good and not heavy to carry. Price is a little high but it’s a good knife.

Wow, what a knife. Well made, sturdy, and sharp out of the box. I used to have one when I was in the Army and got a lot of good use out of it. This one will be going with me for hiking, camping, and canoe trips. I was amazed at how sharp the blade was when I took it out of the box. It was sharp enough to shave the hair of the back of my arm and hand. Wouldn't mind getting several other knives the company has to offer.

I’m very pleased with the quality of this Jabar knife . I had one almost identical issued to me when I was in the military, the only difference with the new blade is the serration on the blade and mine had a leather sheath. Also very pleased with the prompt delivery!

I struck a hard surface with the tip and it bent a little. Other than that the rest of the knife held up perfectly. It's quite a strong knife.

Love this tool just didn’t come with the leather sheaf.
