Highly recommend!
This Fiskars 28" Chopping Axe is an outstanding tool! The ultra-sharp blade makes quick and effortless work of kindling and smaller logs – it truly slices through wood with ease. I'm especially impressed with how well-balanced it feels, making each swing efficient and less tiring. It's the perfect size and weight (3.5 pounds) for general garden and outdoor tasks. A must-have for anyone needing a reliable and effective chopping axe!

Better than the Gerber Bushcraft Axe!!!
excellent design, fits the storage unit I plan to keep it in, perfect weight, incredible durability and versatility. this is an excellent camp/travel axe for the money and the warranty. I just wish I could get a different axe head cover to put it on a backpack with.

I also have the Fiskars X25 splitting axe and while I've read that the longer handle is best for taller folks I gotta say that the X25 feels more less comfortable and like it would be easier to short swing. Of the two I prefer the longer handle and I am 5'10". I love both of my Fiskers axes. Just bought the X7 hatchet and it is excellent as well. Updated: I've now been using the X27 for almost 5 years. Like some other guys under 6' 3", I prefer using the longer handled X27 to the X25 - I get more leverage and I think that it is safer - I stand farther away from the round so a miss or glancing blow will not go into my foot or leg but into the ground (that said I still wear steel toed boots when splitting wood). This axe has just been a solid performer for me for splitting wood. Maintenance is easy - a good file works fine an is pretty quick, the edge stays sharp a good while. The handle provides a very good griping surface even when wet. This axe design and materials have given me a far better ratio of swings to splits than axes I have used in the past decades. About a year ago I added the Fiskars 8 lb 36" handle maul to my inventory and am very glad that I did. Yeah it isn't cheap - but what really excellent tool is - you get what you pay for when it comes to tools - doesn't take many handle replacements to make up the price difference. Yes, the X27 axe is great on a lot of wood rounds but come on, use the proper tool for the proper use and you'll find it worthwhile. Bottom line is that I go with Fiskars and not just because I am an Alaskan Finn. Finns won't abide shoddy tools. I hope that Fiskars keep a close eye on quality assurance and control and maintain the high quality of their tools .

Solid choice for splitting
Fiskars continues to sell quality products! I have many splitting axes this one is at the top of the list though. I split ash, cherry, and solid chunks of beech, all unseasoned. This axe does a really good job at absorbing most of the shock and doesn't sting my hands when you bite into a solid piece of wood. Very sharp! Excellent value for the money and I know it is built to last!

Best axe iv seen on Amazon
Good quality id say for its price, not much better on Amazon, it is plenty long. The blade seems to hold up well. Stays sharp from my testing, looks cool like the axe from the game "the forest" Like I said its long so not the best in terms of portability, but the lightest axe i held, so it isn't too bad. It has a plastic thing to protect the blade in transport, seems to be made to last, don't see it going anytime soon. Still this is a sharp axe that will stay sharp, best sold on Amazon iv seen and cheaper then the ones at hardware stores that get dull fast

My favorite axe!
Great product. I'm not a professional axe user, but this does the trick for the occasional tree that had reached end-of-life (also using a chainsaw and other tools.) This is a chopping axe, and does that quite well. It is not a splitting axe, and kind of sucks at that (as expected.). The right tool for the right job,
