Fresh Patch Mini Real Grass Patch for Dogs, Cats, and Small Pets Under 8 Pounds – Disposable Pet Grass Pee Pads – Indoor and Outdoor Potty Training Mat (12 Inches x 16 Inches)

We are on our 2nd purchase now. I wanted to give it a thorough trial before leaving feedback. I have a 5 pound Chihuahua and a 6.5 pound Papillon who are getting older and having a harder time going longer periods of time waiting to go outside. After seeing all the reviews and trying other "fake grass" options (never worked), I was not totally convinced this would work for us. The dogs stay in a large crate when no one is home to let/take them out and the small size fits perfect in the crate still leaving room for their beds and blankets. There was a full month between deliveries and the grass does get dead and brown, but so does the late summer grass outside and didn't seem to affect my dogs using it. I did notice as it gets drier, it takes longer to absorb the odors and smells a little more when it's wet so I may switch over to 3 week deliveries to prevent that. I've read that female dogs have stronger urine so that may not be an issue for people with male dogs.My dogs would rather go outside when someone is home to let them out, but that may change as the weather gets colder. The Chihuahua really hates cold weather and the last two winters were really bad which was one of the main reasons for exploring other options. I was actually considering building a wooden box in the garage and growing grass in it for the winter months, but then I happened to see this product on Shark Tank. The deciding factor for me was seeing how, as the dogs are getting older, they were having a harder time when no one is home during the day and they were having problems waiting to go out. Rather than risking health problems and pricey vet bills and having to wash their bedding more due to accidents, I decided to try Fresh Patch and we have had no more problems.Since I like the product, in spite of the price, I signed up for the automatic order on the vendors website, which saves 5%. I also had a promo code which saved another 5%. I'm not sure yet if that promo code only worked on the initial order or if it will apply to future orders. You can easily change the number of weeks between deliveries (1-4 weeks), which I may need to do over the winter if they use it more to avoid having to bundle up to go outside. However, I can lengthen that time in the summer when they need it less.I saw some posts mentioning problems with bugs. I have not had any problem like that with either order and both orders showed up nice and green. I do agree with other posts that mention that Fed Ex doesn't pay attention to the box label or the red sticker indicating box should be "this side up" (the top of the box - basically, grass side up). Both times the box was left short side up so I had to straighten the grass patch, but it wasn't a huge deal. I also saw some posts where purchasers were concerned about leakage. I do have small dogs so that may help, but what I do is when I take the lid off I slide the bottom of the box into the lid and essentially have two layers underneath the grass, which may help. I have had absolutely no problems with leaks. I have also had no problems with the box or grass being chewed or dug apart, but my dogs don't tend to be diggers or chewers so that also is not a concern for me.Overall, I highly recommend the product. I have read they are trying to open a location on the East Coast and hopefully as they expand and increase their business, they will be able to lower their costs a little.Update: October 2016We are still happy customers of fresh patch. They now offer different sizes in addition to this one, the "XL" which is advertised for dogs over 25 pounds, and the "mini" which we have tried. It is exactly half the size of their original one in a smaller cardboard tray. The XL does not come with a cardboard tray, but they do offer a custom tray for it on their website.I also wanted to mention that their customer service is fantastic! I realized my last order was placed when I looked at their website and saw they now offer different sizes. I contacted the company on their website requesting to switch to the mini to try that size. I mentioned in my message to them it may not be able to be taken care of since the current order on my monthly subscription had already been placed. Since the order had not yet been shipped, they refunded me the difference and switched my order from the original size to the mini. I have also had to contact the company on a couple other occasions and they are very quick in their response and, in my experience, have always been willing to keep me happy as a customer. I wish all companies were this easy to deal with :)

Amazing customer service!!! The first patch we received the box was damaged and the grass was falling out of the box. It made a huge mess in my home. I was super disappointed with the delivery. I complained to Amazon and the seller sent another patch of grass at no cost which was delivered within a day. The shipping time is extremely fast. I purchased the large patch of grass for my two cats. Unfortunately, my indoor cats are afraid of the grass because they've never seen grass before and don't like the texture. They do enjoy snacking on it and haven't thrown up from it but they also don't eat a lot. The grass is REAL. It has soil and is moist! It's very lush! The website says it can last 1-6 weeks. I think cat owners will get the longest use out of this since cats just lay on it and don't pee or poop on it. I recommend keeping the grass in the box it came in. The lid can also be placed under the box for added padding and protection because the soil is moist. I think the value for this patch is great because it lasts so long. We are going on the third week of the grass and it still looks very green! My in-laws have an indoor/outdoor cat who LOVES his patch of grass. He is ALWAYS lounging on it when he's not outside. It's given him so much peace and comfort. I so badly want my cats to like the grass but they just don't unfortunately. But I definitely think my in laws will be purchasing more patches regularly for their cat. Super happy with this product and that it even exists! Although my cats don't care for it I am so happy they were able to see and experience grass in their life. I am grateful for that. Wonderful product! I initially was going to purchase the patch directly from their website but seeing that they're on Amazon made the process 100x easier for purchasing. Pictured is my in-laws cat on the grass. Update: grass is still going strong and we are on weak 4 however I noticed it is dry. So I think it would be worth lightly spraying or misting some water on the grass to keep it lush and moist. The grass has gotten flat because the cats sit or walk on it so that's normal. But it's still green!

I love fresh patch. I can’t believe how well it works. There is zero smell, ever. Urine doesn’t leak through grass onto cardboard. Easy clean up. Let’s my 4mo puppy learn to potty on grass right on my apartment balcony. It’s so much cleaner than I thought it would be. I order a new one every 2 weeks or so. When it’s time to change I put the lid back on it that was saved underneath and into the recycle it goes. No dirt, no mess, heaven. I started out with the smallest box, since my pup was only 4 pounds, but since have upgraded to the medium size. It gives her more room to circle and sniff. I may go one size bigger this summer so she has some room to lay in the grass too. Highly recommend this option if you want easy cleanup, live in an apartment with patio or balcony.Right now I’m rotating the old one to outside, and the new one inside by the balcony door. This is working great, not gross, no smell. I tried this because my pup was chewing up the potty pads so I tossed them. She uses the inside grass at night or when we’re not home and the outside grass when we are home. Of course she does still have accidents. I hope this helps someone out there!

This is a fantastic solution for our Kab puppy! It was shipped and received within one day and completely fresh. It is beautiful thick quality real grass on a hard damp compressed peat like material. My lab took to it immediately after I sprayed a little potty here stuff. It's a lifesaver at 3 am as we no longer have to walk him all over the back yard! It is on day seven and still looks as fresh as day one. I do shower it every other day and have it in a plastic tray. Great product I'm hoping it will last a month. I'll be doing the subscription as soon as I know how often to order.
