Comfortable and effective in reducing volume.
These ear plugs seem to work well at muffling the sound level at noisy concerts. Previously I had used only an old pair of ear plugs from the 1970's and so was out of touch with what is now available. These Alpine ear plugs are a soft, clear, silicone material, with two 'skirts' to give a snug fit in the ear canal. They come with three pairs of filters: white, silver and gold (for low, medium and high noise level situations) and so you pick a pair of filters and push them into the ear plugs. They are a bit fiddly, (like the coloured pegs from an old game of travel Mastermind) and would be easy to drop and lose, especially in a dark concert and so it is sensible to fit them into the ear plugs before a gig, not during. They can be inserted in the ear and removed easily. To reduce the risk of losing one, a cord is included with clips at each end, which can be worn on the neck, but this is a very fine thread that you would not notice when wearing. The pack contained three ear plugs (a pair plus one spare) and three pairs of filters. So far I have attended one concert wearing the silver filters and another in the gold. Both were effective. I did not feel that I was missing out on any details of the music. I was pleased not to have noisy ringing in my ears after the shows. The set also includes a small bottle of a cleaning fluid and a handy zip case. The ear plugs can be washed in warm soapy water, but being transparent, could be easily lost when emptying the wash basin! I removed the filters before washing the ear plugs, but do not know whether this is actually necessary. (It is with another type of earplugs). The plugs can be reused many times, but I think they may be vulnerable to tearing eventually, whilst fitting and removing the filters. It doesn't seem very practical to try changing filters while at a gig, for risk of dropping one, so you need to guess the likely noise level in advance. I may buy a second set, simply to then be able to have three pairs of ear plugs made up, with white, silver and gold filters already inserted.

Fantastic product
Absolutely fantastic as a person with autism I have to be very particular with my needs particularly when it comes to night time routine and in past have had experience of different earplugs including both reusable and foam and have to say these are mind blowing I decided to start with the middle of line filters and was amazed with how these worked as for me softened music whilst totally blocking out all other sounds and with my autism is perfect for me as to be able to get any sleep I need to be able to listen to my Spotify binaural sounds albums and I think this is due to the design as in comparison to other ear plugs that complete block ear canal fully these actually comfortably sit in the actual hole in the ear canal itself which I find provide ls for a perfect and comfortable fit and the incuded clips and cord which simply snap on to the metal filters aid in ease of removal with a firm but gentle design meaning ease of removal is easy there use Iโd recommend for people with autism/sound sensitivity and anyone who wants a quieter environment kudos to whoever designed these I will absolutely buy more for spares going forward and itโs definitely the case with these that good things come in small packages inc the carry case the fixing string and clips plus the spare tip 3 different attenuated filter types plus a useful cleaning spray make for a good kit and given my experience think the price is very reasonable for such a good product

Perfect for my need.
I regularly use earplugs for motorbiking so have a massive box of the cylindrical yellow ones (E-A-R Classic, Aearo Ltd). They are excellent btw, if any motorcyclists reading this - block out loads of noise, and easy to get in and out (unlike pointy ones). However, those 'biking'/DIY type earplugs are too blocking for being at loud gigs or playing in an enclosed rehearsal room with a band. So I got a pair of these to try - to take the edge off whilst watching bands (excellent for that), and to put in if I'm going to be giving it some oomph (on drums) in a rehearsal room with a band. They take out enough noise but are better than the E-A-R type ones when having a conversation. They're not magic - but they leave more ability to be able to hear a conversation. And, if the earplug needs to come out, they're on a string, so one can be taken out and put above the ear without risk of it falling off and getting lost on a beer soaked mosh pit. They did initially feel just a tad too small for my earholes (I'm guessing mine are perhaps slightly larger than average) but with experience they're just right because that means I can set how far in or out they are, depending on how noisy the environment is. Fully in, they block it plenty. They come in a case - which is vital for a stringy thingy, otherwise it'll get caught in bag zips or whatever. It comes with the three 'inserts' which are said to give different levels of noise reduction. I don't know how I could compare that; I stuck in the gold ('max') ones and haven't changed. And it has a spare earpiece part too - handy just in case one does somehow get loose and lost. I liked them enough after use, that I bought a second pair (avoid having to keep moving them between main gig bag, and a rehearsal room bag).

Great earbuds
Great comfy earplugs that sound way better than cheap ones. Pretty big difference in sound drop between the inserts

Great!
Are my ears getting more sensitive as I get older, or am I getting more grumpy?... I think I just appreciate how well my hearing still works and how I'd like it to stay that way. The adjustable level of noise reduction is most welcome. The white inserts just take things down a notch. You barely know they're in, but it's just a little more safe and comfortable. I used these for a lively performance at The Barbican. The silver inserts are to prevent hearing damage in a more rowdy environment like pubs and clubs. I can still hear the full range of music even up to Prodigy and Chemical Brothers live performance levels but they protect my ears from ringing afterwards. The gold inserts are for the loudest heavy metal gigs. I think they do take the edge off the audio clarity, but they do the job of protecting your hearing. The inclusion of a spare earpiece is most welcome. Should you lose one mid gig, you can still wear a (mismatched) pair to tide you over. Then I'd buy another set of these and have a spare insert.

Work well.
3 levels of noise reduction to choose from. Connecting cord protects against accidental loss. Unobtrusive.

Very satisfied with these earplugs
I'm using these for band practice and gigs. We play really loud but with the earplugs all the noise is "cut out" and I can only hear music. Just what I needed! Very light and comfortable to wear, easy to remove and I'd say the fit most ears. Top quality!

Poor fit adjustment, small tip makes it easy to push in too far and difficult to remove.
Didn't work for me. Only one size ear plug and I think they were slightly too small. Very little reduction in sound level and very easy to push too far into your ear - had to use tweezers to get one out. Slim tip makes removal difficult. Found etymotics much better with different tip sizes that fitted better.
