Does the material of the handle come undone after awhile?

If handled improperly it will. I usually remove it anyway and create a wrap of my own using good paracord or something similar. However these have stayed on a lot better then most do.

Actually yea. I would say that these knives are pretty good for a beginner. You have to throw them with little to no spin though. I throw them so they only turn 180 degrees to impact (blade in hand). They're gonna take a bit of a beating, smacking on eachother and impacting on the wood, but it takes a while before you have to resharpen the point.
