Big Bed for Giraffe (Hello Genius)

Adorable book and wonderful author who has created such great social stories that help teach children about what is the right thing to do as well as what to expect! Simple pictures and short phrases make toddlers and pre-kindergarteners the perfect audience for these books!

We love the Hello Genius series and this book was no exception. When my daughter looked like she was about to climb out of her crib we got this book to help with the transition to a big kid bed. As with other books in the series, the pictures and text are simple and relatable for toddlers. The page about Giraffe potentially getting hurt helped us reinforce that it was not safe to climb out of the crib. The book also helped get my daughter excited about the benefits of having a big kid bed. Even though she has been in a toddler bed for months now she still enjoys reading about Giraffe's search for the perfect big bed.

I was looking for some big bed transition books for my 2 year old son and ran across this one. He loves giraffes at the moment, so I thought, "Why not?" He LOVES this book! The colors are fun, the illustrations are very cute, and it seemed like my son was really able to relate to Giraffe, even with it being a fairly short story. This is the only book my son has wanted me to read it to him (over and over and over) for the past three days.

My 2 year old started asking to sleep in his twin size bed after reading this for 3-4 nights. Will definitely keep this around for the next kid as she transitions into her “big bed”. I could see how some kids might get sucked up into the idea of having a car bed after reading this though. The other thing we weren’t crazy about was that the giraffe has all of its toys and books in bed when it sleeps. Our son definitely thought he could do the same after reading!

Perfect for toddlers changing from the crib to the big bed. My toddler loves this book and asks to read it often in his “big bed”

Cute book, fun and easy read for kids

This was a great book to introduce the concept of a big boy bed to our 2 year old! We read it often and eventually he started associating the giraffe to himself in the story. We still read it often at nighttime before bed and he still enjoys it! Cute pictures in the book and short and simple story.

This book was a huge help in getting my toddler in the mindset of transitioning to a bed. We also used the Bye Bye Bottles book to help transition away from bottles. The books are short and simple, but make an impact in the process of accepting changes!

Very nice book

Have to change the word 'crib' for 'cot' as my toddlers were confused and the story is extremely basic, also beware your kids will ask for a racing car bed! But I think they get the point of it
