Great. Maybe the best water shoes I've owned.
I have owned many pairs of water shoes, and these are the best. I wear water shoes on a regular basis for hiking in creeks. I also wear them periodically for padleboarding, or for walking on rocky areas near the ocean. I just got these and wore them for a creek hike. These are very light weight. I'm actually surprised that they seem to quality and yet are so light. They were comfortable, as far as water shoes go, the first time I put them on, straight out of the box. I wear orthotics in all my shoes, so I put my orthotics in them for wearing them to hike. They were super comfortable and stable, with my orthotics in them. The rubber on the bottom is as grippy as any water shoes I have ever had. I expect to slip on slimy rocks, which these did, but everything else they gripped well without slipping, above water and under water. There is a layer of rubber on top of the toes, which is fantastic. Hiking in the creek, my toes go underneath the edges of rocks often, which can jam and hurt your toes. Yesterday, on my creek hike, my foot went under the edges of many rocks, and it never hurt my toes. I was very pleased with this.My previous water shoes covered the whole foot (not sandals, no vent holes), like these, but the tops were loose enough that they let in little rocks. These tie up pretty snug, so they kept rocks out well. Sand is going to get in no matter what.I will buy another pair someday, if they still exist when it's time to get new ones. I expect that will be a while.

Merrell quality
I just tried these on and they fit perfectly. I noticed a really nice arch support so I know they will provide good comfort. I will take these out for a walk as soon as the snow melts but I know this was a good purchase. Thank you.

Best shoe in the world for running
This is the best running shoe in the world. Also for rock climbing and hiking and gym it's the best. The only better shoe was the trail glove 1, the original. I hope the company will not "tinker" with it more. The 6 and 7 are awful. They have a thick sole! Maybe merrell will bring this legend back by the time I need new ones 🙂. These are invincible, I have trusted them literally with my life scrambling, flying down hills from California to new England, and everywhere in between. Trail glove 1, 4, and 5 are the good ones. If you want true zero drop with extremely tough vibram to protect against rocks or other sharps. I'd pay three digits if they bring these back in the future.

Perfect minimalist shoe with slight arch support
I have worn these for 4 weeks now and busted in 16 miles during Ragnar team race. These shoes held up so well. I ran in the arizona desert the entire time running over jagged rocks and mud and dirt. I didn’t feel any pain from pointy rocks when running over them.My only gripe is where the bottom rubber tread meets the front of the shoe, it is separating. I would’ve imagined this happening at about 100 miles.Tie box is perfect. These shows run large so I had to order a half size smaller than my normal shoes for the right fit. If you have had Merrell trail gloves before stick with the size before. I wasn’t a fan of the arch but I was able to feel normal after a while.

Great shoes so far
Got these to replace a pair of hiking boots I had. I have had similar pairs in the past, just not the trail version. I wore them a handful of times to walk the dog, before using them for hikes in RMNP. I basically didn’t break them in and I had zero problems. I love that they are minimal, zero drop and have a wide toe box. They were true to size and very comfortable. I had no issues with feeling rocks or anything, through the sole. With my current pair of barefoot Inov8’s I workout in, that is a problem outside. Obviously this is a different application, but I wanted a similar fit and feel. I hope that they hold up well, because they’re exactly what I was hoping for

Great barefoot shoes
Love these shoes. Merrells have the barefoot technology down to a science. This is my 3rd pair and I wear them until there is no tread left and there is practically no thread left on the seams. I really love these shoes. They hold up so well.

I researched the best trail running shoe on the market before getting these
I wanted a trail running shoe with a roomy toe box and good arch support. I also wanted souls that would grip any surface from ice to mud without picking up debris. I wanted a shoe that I could be in and out of water and it would dry out on its own in time. The shoe can slip or be laced as tightly as anyone could want. I found it in an ultramarathon review of the best ultramarathon trail running shoes it was third. I wear a size 13 and it runs true to size as the 13 fit me perfectly. I wish these were available 40 years ago when I ran my first 100 miler. When I run they're so light and fit so well. I feel like I'm running and padded socks.

Great Shoe, Wrong Sizes
I'd like to start by saying that the moment I put the left shoe on I could tell i loved it. It felt perfect, the arch support was amazing. I know people in the comments have complained about the aggressive support, but as a person who is 6'6 wearing size 13 shoes I immediately liked the firm arch. the shoe was light, comfortable, plenty of room int he toe box. It was basically everything right with a barefoot trail shoe. Then I put on the right shoe, and thought my foot had shrunk. In the pictures you can see a clearly 1 inch gap between where my toe is with my foot to the back of the shoe. The arch support hit well in front of my arch. If I slid my foot forward to properly place the arch support you can see the 1 inch gap in the back of the shoe.I measured the shoes all over, I could not identify an additional inch, at most form to box to back was an extra half centimeter. I returned the shoes, didn't want to roll the dice on a new pair, it it's a month to get a pair of 12s.I'll have to go into a store and try these ones again.
