A Bit Eccentric (But) Appears To Be Fully Functional!
I purchased and installed a dimmer switch from TOPGREENER in a similar application (ASIN: B07DTX28ZJ) previously and while those do work splendidly, I was a little miffed when it came to the price tag as well as the added necessity there to replace both my 3-way rocker switches. Since I found myself on the hunt once again for a smart dimmer switch that worked in 3-way circuit, this Feit brand switch with its unabashedly low price tag caught my eye, and I thought for sure I would give it a shot. I’ve looked into smart switches for multi-location applications before and my question has recently been one of: “Do I really need to replace ALL the existing switches in such a circuit?” Enter the Feit 3-Way Smart Dimmer Switch which manages to address this problem quite adroitly — and quite articulately as well, thanks to the superb wiring instructions that are included in the product. As an added bonus, the price is merely half that of competing switches for use in similar applications (I purchased this product when it went on a small promotion for a little under $15), owing to the fact that you only need to replace ONE of your existing 3-way switches. What a great deal, and one that should undoubtedly appeal to anyone financially-minded or those on a shoestring budget. INSTALLATION: I used this in a 3-way application and was able to keep my existing mechanical rocker switch albeit with a slight alteration in the wiring. My existing 3-way switch on the LINE side is part of a 2-Gang with another switch that I was replacing with a “smart” version, so I needed to pull both switches out at this location in order to retrieve the neutral wires bundled at the back of the box. This switch was expected to arrive at the same time, but it got delayed by 1-2 days and though I searched this product page and saw an instructional video on YouTube for the Feit switch, I saw nothing that mentioned I would need to change the wiring for the 3-way switch on the LINE side so unfortunately I sealed it up and installed a screw-less wall plate. By the time the Feit switch arrived and I realized after reading the instructions that came with the product that I would need to change the wiring on the LINE side after all, it was kinda too late and I ultimately ended up taking the wall plate apart and pulling the switch out for the 2nd time. I considered knocking off a star for this minor inconvenience and also since I couldn’t find any instructions that applied to this product online, which would have saved me some time effort and peace of mind truth be told, however I have decided against it as I think such an action would perhaps be petulant. Besides, the common-sense logic of the instructions kind of made me feel embarrassed that I hadn’t figured it out yet. I’ll still go ahead and briefly explain this in a sentence or two below, just so others are aware and aren’t as misinformed as I was: On the LINE side, you simply need to wire-nut the black cable that comes from your LINE/HOT with the black traveler wire and a jumper wire, and then connect the other end of the jumper wire to the LINE terminal (black screw where the LINE wire was previously connected) on your existing mechanical switch. The logic for this is impeccable: the installation location for the dimmer switch is the LOAD side, so that needs to have a constant line to the power via the black traveler wire, regardless of the ON/OFF position of the mechanical switch on the LINE side. If you wire it up this way, your Feit switch will behave essentially as a single-pole switch and won’t be reliant on the other 3-way switch (in fact I believe the opposite could be said to be true). How to differentiate between the LINE and LOAD side is relatively easy: first, pull the switch out of the box and turn the power on in the breaker, being sure to stand clear. Next, confirm that the light (load) that the switches control is OFF. Then, carefully take a non-contact voltage tester and check the wires connected to the existing switch. If you have 2 wires conducting current regardless of the position on your switch, that is your LINE side; the LOAD side will have only a single black wire capable of conducting current when the light is off, and if you follow this wire closely it should come from the same bundle as the other traveler wire (usually a RED wire to convey the load connection), this is how you can identify that it’s the right location to install your new Feit dimmer switch. The other black wire not bundled with your traveler wires — or, put another way, the black wire coming from the same bundle as your copper ground wire — is your LOAD wire. From here simply follow the instructions that came with the product and it should be very easy to wire the switch up and test that it’s working correctly. APPEARANCE: This is where the note about the “eccentric” quality comes into play. The design on the switch is certainly novel, and I’ve yet to see other smart switches designed quite like it. You can take a gander at the pictures that I’ve included below, and the only strange aspect of it that you’ll notice is that it’s shaped kind of like a thunderbolt, with a bevel on the bottom half of the switch arching out. I certainly don’t find it unappealing, hence me calling the design “eccentric” as I haven’t yet figured out what to make of it. It’s certainly a unique design, I think that definitely goes without saying. The switch has an "always on" circular indicator led that is perhaps a touch too bright, and which glows a constant white at all times of the day. On the top are a row of green led's that light up whenever the light is turned ON (via the app, voice control, or either of the 3-way switches that control the fixture), which indicate the current brightness level that the dimmer is set to. In other typical smart switches that I've purchased, I have noticed that the indicator lights on the switch generally fade away when the switch is turned ON. One of the things I would have liked to see is that the circular indicator led in this case would not be visible if the light (load) were on. The only other thing I would note is sometimes the green led's are a bit too bright, so being able to dim them or change them to a softer "blue" color for example could have perhaps been a nice addition. OPERATION: Pressing down on the switch gives a deep but satisfying “click” sound that I liked better than other brand smart switches that I have purchased, such as Kasa and TreatLife. This one certainly is unique in more ways than one, and the deep but pronounced “click” sound is certainly one of them. The lights turn on blazingly fast when I press down on the switch, and the dimming capability is smooth and results in no flickering (using these with non-Feit brand bulbs currently). There is also an option under the app where you can fine-tune the minimum brightness level (low-end trim) to allow for personal preference or to help solve any "flickering" issue on bulbs which could possibly happen when the brightness is turned all the way down. When using the Feit Electric companion app, the light turn on incredibly fast as soon as my finger presses down on the button — I would estimate any delay to be mostly negligible, and on the scale of tens or hundreds of milliseconds which was not easily noticeable to me. In contrast, other companion apps for dimmer switches (such as TOPGREENER and KASA) usually had a delay of about 1 second before the lights would fully fade in to ON. Perhaps it could be the brand or type of bulbs that I paired with the Feit dimmer switch, but either way I noticed that they responded nearly instantaneously when they were switched ON/OFF both manually and via the app. FINAL NOTE: I have just installed these switches earlier today, and so far they are working perfectly fine. Only time will tell if they are reliable or not, but in any case I will be sure to update this review if anything stops functioning or doesn’t behave as expected. The integration with Alexa was flawless, but had some issues initially with setting it up in the app. I would urge others to dismiss some of the poorer reviews for this product, and while you ought not to ignore them completely, just be mindful that most brand switches have their fair share of 1-star reviews that seem to show up occasionally. I’m not sure exactly what their experience was, as I have never received a single defective switch product so far — I might just be one of the lucky ones I suppose, but then again maybe not. My advice would be to take it slow and wire it correctly; when it comes to the push-in terminals, make sure your wires are the correct length and you don't have any bare copper protruding from the switch (make sure about an inch or so are exposed at the ends), use pliers to twist and straighten wires — especially the neutral wires that are typically wire-nutted together, and be sure to push them into the terminals properly and tighten the clamping screws hard to make sure they don’t fall out. Do this and hopefully you won’t experience any issues with faulty wiring or general functionality with your new Feit smart dimmer switch. Thank you and hope this switch ends up works reliably and well for myself and for others, for many years to come.

These are the BEST smart switches; I tried them all
I tried just about ever smart switch I could find on Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes, and these are very best. First I'll address a couple of the initial concerns I (and others) had with these, and how I easily fixed them. Then I'll list some basic pros and cons. (1) I initially thought the indicator light had to be always on or always off. Some smart switches, by default, have the indicator light on when the lights are off (to help find the switch in the dark), and off when the lights were on. You can achieve this with a super simple automation in the Feit app to turn the indicator light off when the lights turn on, and another automation to turn the indicator light on when the lights turn off. Good to go :) I'll attach a picture so you can see what one of the automations looks like. (2) The green brightness indicator lights at the top of the switch are always on when the lights are on, and you can't choose to turn them off, sadly. This was the only dealbreaker for me for this switch because of the annoying green color. If they were a white light, I think it wouldn't matter. However, I'm very happy with the solution I found for this. Before installing each switch, I simply unscrewed the few screws on the back of the switch so that I could access the green lights inside. Then I just put a single, thin piece of black duct tape over the green lights (or maybe a couple strips to be safe), and screwed the back of the switch back on. So yes, this is a pretty permanent solution, but we don't need those green indicator lights to know how dim our lights are (we just look around the room to see how bright it is). In the picture I attached, two of the switches are on, and the switch on the right is off. Pros: -Voice-enabled control. (We use Google, not Alexa.) -Programmable timing. I have automation so that if we turn the lights on at night, they are at 1% brightness, and when we turn them on in the morning, they are already at 100% again. -Mood lighting, and integration with other smart devices. We have a lot of lamps plugged into smart outlets, and our TVs are smart too; these can all work together with the google home app (and Alexa, too). I have an automation where if I turn off the kitchen lights between 9 pm and 1 am, or if I tell google "It's bedtime," allll the lights, lamps, TVs, etc. in our house turn off. -Remote monitor and control. It's nice to use my phone to control things if I don't want to use my voice assistant or walk to a physical switch. Cons: -The lowest brightness could be lower. I've tried other switches that could get my lights dimmer at the lowest setting. The dimmest these switches will let my lights be is about 10% brightness for some other switches. They are still really dim at the lowest setting, so this was not a deal breaker. If getting ultra-low dimness is your priority, maybe don't buy these. -Like I mentioned before, the annoying green indicator lights are always on when the lights are on, but my solution to this works perfect for us, so this isn't really a con for me anymore.

Good value, flexible installation
After reading many reviews I am pleased to report that some deficiencies have been addressed: a. The white power/pairing light is fully controllable in software. In the Feit app, select the device, select settings. On the "minimum brightness adjustment page (which looks like you can't scroll) scroll up past the big Save button and there will be a setting for the power indicator light. (Off, Low, High). To change it, 1st click on the padlock further down to unlock it, then click on the desired setting, and finally click on the Save button (above). The dimmer should react immediately to the change. b. The power indicator light can also be dynamically controlled as part of an Automation Scene as well. So you can build scenes that only enable the indicator when the lights are off, or turn the indicator light off at a certain time of day (useful in a bedroom at night). c. While the instructions and the included wiring diagrams are correct, some explanation regarding the behavior of the remote switch in a multi-switch environment might be helpful: 1. The dimmer itself needs power & neutral to operate. It really doesn't matter whether the line power comes from the remote box (via a traveler) or is already present in the box the dimmer is installed into. 2. The traveler (marked yellow on the installation diagrams) is simply a control input to the dimmer that toggles between 0v (disconnected/open) and line voltage. The switch doesn't actually power the lights directly anymore, rather the dimmer decides how to control the lights exclusively. Therefore as long as the remote switch can switch line voltage to the yellow wire from any nearby source, you're good to go. 3. Unlike a traditional 3-way manual switch pair, the remote switch can be just a normal on-off switch. It doesn't have to be a 3-way. The installation instructions state this in a note. d. Some installers try to wedge the wires underneath the screws on the dimmer. That is incorrect. Loosen each screw on the dimmer, insert the wire in the hole on the back of the dimmer adjacent to the screw, and then tighten the screw. If the wire comes back out it means either the screw wasn't loosened enough prior to the wire being inserted, or the wire isn't long enough. When the screws are loosened, internally two metal plates are being separated. When the screws are tightened those internal plates clamp down on the wire in-between them. e. On our dimmer, the default behavior when operated "manually" with the wall switches is to energize at the last selected brightness level. Not sure why others report an uncommanded return to 100%? f. The feit app works okay, but I find the default device view (called "grid") annoying in that pressing the device toggles its on/off state rather than allowing brightness adjustment. The solution is easy, switch the view to "list" view. From "My home" in Feit app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right. A dropdown will show a number of management options, the 1st will be the alternate view selection. In "list" view the device will be shown in a rectangle with a clearly marked power button on the right and the descriptive text on the left. Tap the text to get into the dimmer control. Both Google and Alexa integrations are working well. I will update this review if I encounter any issues using the dimmer.

Junk! Doesn't Work, Poor Build, Decrepit Design All in 1
I try to find at least some positive feature to mention in a review, but this product has none. AVOID 1. It does not work in combination with a 3-way switch when elements are connected according to the instructions. "Work" means it does not power a standard LED light/bulb or turnkey LED dimmable product. All that happens is that the silly led's on the switch turn on, confirming that the switch itself is properly powered. 2. The design is a mess. The wire-connecting screws on the side are tight and do not screw out enough to connect standard #14 wire (as in Romex). If one attempts to unscrew the screws beyond where unscewing becomes tight, they fall out and let loose internal harware that rattles around inside. Once that happens, they cannot be screwed back in (without taking the switch apart which presumably would void any warranty- although using the term warranty for this junk seems like a bad joke). 3. Just to get this part clear- I am a licensed radio amateur, a licensed professional engineer, and have an engineering Ph.D. from MIT. So this review does not arise out of being clumsy or ignorance regarding electrical wiring etc. I have decades of experience with this type of product. This one is JUNK.

Great smart lights, but they break after three years
I purchased 11 of these switches about three years ago and installed them throughout my home. Up until recently, they’ve performed extremely well. No glitches, smooth installation, and excellent compatibility with the app and integrations. I’ve been very happy with how they function day to day. Over the past couple of weeks, though, five of the 11 units suddenly went offline and appear to have completely failed. I considered switching to a more expensive alternative, but since these worked so well overall, I decided to replace them with the same model. Still a solid product in terms of performance, but the longevity is something to keep in mind.

These can work in a 4 way configuration
These can work in a 4 way configuration because they use the traveler wire as a communication wire. You have really have as many of these chained together because the communication wire just makes the other switches "dummies" and the final switch in the group carries the load. They all need the hot wire daisy chained coming in and out of each switch. Basically all switches are live and just listen for a communication signal. This was a very cheap and effective solution for a 4 way setup.

WARNING - Watch for defective units!!!
This unit is the PERFECT solution for 3-way switches where you want an Alexa enabled dimmer on ONE switch, not both, and still want a simple "ON/OFF" flip switch at the other location when you're just NOT in the mood to talk to Alexa or anyone else!! (Like before morning coffee.) Love it, but one VERY important warning, some of these units are defective!!! I am an engineer and problem-solver by trade (albeit not an electrical engineer), and love learning new things and figuring things out. I can do basic electrical repairs but had to Google 3-way switches to understand the wiring concept, then went about installing this switch. The instructions in my opinion are very well-written, but the option to wire it the way I wanted as above is a little more complicated but explained in the instructions provided. When finished, the dimmer functioned perfectly, but the simple switch did not. After several days of off & on personal torture and emotional turmoil trying to figure out what I did wrong and not being able to figure it out, I saw another review saying that the first switch they received was defective. I ordered another switch as a last resort and... BINGO! That was the problem, my simple "ON/OFF" switch now worked correctly. Feit, you DUM-DUMs!!! And by the way, their tech support SUCKS!!! They say "24 hour"... B.S. That just means you can send them an email 24/7 - lame! But... I love the product, app, and the end result. Just pray you don't get a defective one. I'll pray you don't, either! :D Feit - Get your house in order and fix your manufacturing defects, or, if you already have step it up and ensure the defective units are purged from all existing stock.

Excellent Smart WiFi Dimmer Switch
The Feit Electric Smart WiFi Dimmer Switch is an excellent value. The switch is relatively easy to install as a single pole switch. The app is very intuitive and has multiple settings for various configurations. The switch uses the 2.4 GHz band which is basically the 1-O-1 of every router. I have six, yes six of these switches controlling LED lighting in almost every room including one for outside LED floodlights. My switches are basically used for remote lighting checking our home while on vacation. We have cameras which turn on after we leave. It’s great checking our home while away. You can do scheduling with these switches, which we haven’t done. I have read problems using this switch in a 3-way combination. This is true, not because of the switch, but because a 3-way switch combination can have up to 8 different wiring configurations. Figuring out the traveller lead, power line and load can take considerable time leading to frustration. Depending on the room configuration, you could easily turn a 3-way configuration into a single pole configuration, that is on / off from one location. I’ve lost power to our home numerous times over a 3 year period and the Feit Electric Smart WiFi Dimmer Switch reconnected every time but once to our router. And it was easy to do a reset on that one switch. In fact, we lost power 3 times in a 36 hour period recently. So, 3 periods times 6 switches means the switches reconnected 18 times without a glitch. In summary, these Feit Electric Smart WiFi Dimmer Switches are an excellent buy. You can’t beat the pricing, quality, and app. They are easy to install in a single pole configuration. There are lots of bells and whistles to configurations if you desire, but simplicity is important as our homes turn into IoT. Remember, you need a neutral wire to make these switches operational which is normally the white wire. I just received my 7th and 8th switch. I am sold on these remote wifi switches.

Very nice wifi dimmer
Took me 10 minutes to install and to pair with app.I didnt need the instructions since I wired light switches before.3 way was simple.Only complaint is the wire had to be stripped quite long since the light clamping screws was very deep. The tactile feel is good when using the switch.Pairing will app took 2 minutes and worked great.Over all a really nice wi fi dimmer thats worked perfectly. No flickering,no buzzing.

Excelente producto

Do not buy warehouse deal for this switch.
I have already returned the same switch before, because it was damaged and didn’t work . I clearly wrote the return reason, so would get pulled out from stock; Only to receive the same switch a couple weeks later when I bought a “ new one “ Neutral port on dimmer switch is damaged and the toggle to turn on and off doesn’t manually work, rendering the switch useless. Someone should read the return message, since they ask you why are you returning the item. It’s Amazon inspected, but definitely not tested.
