Absolutely awesome!
UPDATE #2: I continue to be simply blown away by the Customer Service of this company. After a recent update, our lock has started to misbehave a little bit. It started locking and unlocking itself, until I would remove the batteries and reinstall. After the second time it did this, I reached out to the company and they have been incredibly responsive! I can honestly say that I have never had such good customer service from any company I’ve ever bought anything from. Seriously!! Our lock is a couple of years old so I do wonder if it’s time to replace it but the company is doing troubleshooting with me to see if we can resolve it without going that route. If I do decide to go ahead and replace the lock, I will absolutely buy another one of these locks from this company. The Customer Service alone is worth the price of admission. I’ve recommended this lock to everybody that I know because of its sturdiness, the aesthetics and ease of use. You will not be disappointed if you buy this lock! UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: wow…just wow….the customer service for this company is outstanding. After posting my review, they reached out to me to try to help resolve the issues I was having. After a couple of troubleshooting exercises, they ended up sending me a replacement part and that seems to have done the trick. It’s awesome to walk up to the door & have it automatically unlock. And the issues we were having with the fingerprint reader are now no longer an issue. What do I love about this lock? The automatic lock feature. I no longer have to worry that the lock is unlocked when I leave or go to bed. I love that the app provides a log of comings & goings, the fingerprint reader is so convenient & I love that it can be set to unlock upon approach. This lock is awesome! wish all companies had the attentive customer service U-TEC does. I highly recommend this lock now! ——————— My original review: Do we’ve been using this lock for about 6 weeks now and there are things we love and things we don’t. When the lock arrived, I installed it & set it up before my hubby got home. It wasn’t difficult to do or to pair up with the ‘bridge’ that allows it to connect to WiFi. Make sure you have a solid WiFi connection if you buy this lock. The lock feels very sturdy, is made of metal & looks really nice. Pro’s: we love the app that can be used to control the lock, the auto lock / Unlock feature and the log to see who has come & gone. So often my kids forget to lock the door behind them so the auto lock is wonderful. Cons: the fingerprint reader is less than reliable & only works part of the time. More often than not we end up entering the door code to unlock the door. A feature of the lock & the app is that when you enter the ‘boundaries’ set by the system, the door is supposed to automatically unlock as you approach the door. That feature is about as reliable as the fingerprint feature. We will keep the lock? Yes because I’m too lazy to research & try something else. lol. This lock is ‘fine.’ I’d love to say it’s fantastic but I’d be lying. It’s fine. I don’t dislike it enough to go through the hassle of changing it. Living in the humid south, I know I’ll be replacing it in the next couple of years anyway. Would I recommend it? I guess so. Maybe our experiences are more ‘operator error’ so perhaps someone else won’t have our same challenges. I’d give the lock a 5 on a scale of 1-10.

Just buying it, I love it.
So like some other people mentioned already its not perfect. But I think whatever negatives there are definitely out weigh the positives. So with that being said I will tell you how it is after 3 months of using it. I have a wife and a 18 year old son who also use the front door. I installed the door and had no issues with installation. I read about the bolts being too tight, so I checked the lock manually to verify its smooth as I went along, no issues. Once installation done I downloaded the app and started programming all of us into the app. I'm the tech guy in the house so I'm the administrator user. Adding everyone in is easy. I got a bit confused when you add a user email for the app. It should send an email to that user for the app. It didn't for some reason. No biggie, when my wife and son downloaded the app just make sure they sign up using the email address you have listed for them. They can use the app to unlock the door through Bluetooth but I'm the only user to unlock with wifi and program other users. That works for us. So I hooked up the bridge last which is why I think the email for my users didn't send. I probably should've hooked up the bridge first then program my users. Oh well it worked out in the long run. I did have some trouble hooking up to wifi but again I'm the techy guy so I figured it out. Must have 2.4 ghz wifi. Not sure if you can get your deadbolt changed to match your current house locks, I didn't try because I didn't buy this to use the key. We bought it for the ease of access it will give us. So as the keys they gave us work we never use them, its awesome. I like the fact that when we're not home I can check the log to see if my son is home or if he came home. It logs who came in if they use pin code or finger print. If you use key or unlock from the inside then it logs it as manual. No way to tell who it is. That's expected. Great feature. You can easily set up a temporary user with pin code to use at specific time or times. How many times they get to use that pin. I like it for my parents. I send them a code and they can walk right in. Now it doesn't know if the door is open or closed but my son left the house and didn't make sure the door was all the way closed. It notified me saying the lock is jammed. So with the door not closed all the way it was hitting the frame. I don't have my log notifying me with anything but it did notify for this which was good. So now I have lock the door when he leaves. To manually lock the door when you leave just press the big button on the bottom as you leave. This ensures him that the door is closed. Overall I think this is a great product and would recommend it to anyone. Very happy with this purchase. It takes time to set everything up but in the end it worked out great for my family. Oh I didn't hook it up to my Alexa. That was my choice, so I can't comment on that. I do have it hooked to wifi which I can control from anywhere. That was my preference I guess. Stop debating, just get it.

Works well. Very convenient. Great customer service. Recommend
I waited some time to write this review so I could give it time after installing and using. I installed this about 6 months ago now. My experience at this time is very positive and I would recommend. **Initial install** Installing was very straight forward; more or less your standard steps installing any door knob/lock with some subtle differences due to the wire. The directions were easy to follow. However I did note that the lock seemed tight to turn from the inside. I loosened the backplate and it got easier but it seemed like this wasn't right. *More on this later (see: "customer service" section in my review below) **Configuration/Setup** Setup was not very difficult (although I work in tech so maybe that adds some bias). Downloaded app from Android Play store (Google Pixel 2 XL). Connected the Bluetooth and managed to get the master account with initial fingerprints added for myself and my wife rather quickly. Next I added the "wifi bridge adapter". This is the optional add-on component I got which plugs into a nearby outlet to the lock and bridges the lock to your WiFi network so you can control the device remotely. Initially this worked fine, however ... **Issues/Customer Service** After about one month I noted there was a firmware update which I activated. Within a few days I noticed the batteries were dead. This is where it was very important to have kept a physical key provided with the device available outside the house, in your car, etc. I changed the batteries (4 AA, high quality Energizer). About 3 days later they were dead again. Rinse and repeat. After about 3 weeks and 4 sets of batteries this was becoming expensive. I contacted technical support, explained the issue and they were very responsive. They sent me a new backplate device (the core section of the lock with the batteries and embedded controller), and they followed up. EXCELLENT JOB. I swapped the backplate and noted this one fit snuggly and didn't cause the lock to be too tight which the initial one had. I reconfigured and set everything up. Worked great. Added the bridge again, then performed the firmware update. Immediately the lock seemed dead (as if batteries were dead). I performed a master reset (using paperclip to hard reset the device physically and also removed the app from my phone and reinstalled, while the bridge Device was unplugged). I redid the entire setup again. **IMPORTANT NOTE** - it seemed that the possible key here was to configure the lock, perform the firmware update BEFORE adding the wifi bridge. I waited about 3 months without the bridge connected and had no issues. I recently added back the wifi bridge and have had no issues since. My guess is the firmware upgrade had a bug while the bridge was already actively connected beforehand. **Final Impressions** The lock works great. If carrying groceries or something it's easy to just talk your finger against the fingerprint reader and open the door without fumbling for keys or putting everything down. I can remotely open the door if we are out and need someone to go let the dogs out or feed them. The auto-lock feature means there's no more worrying "did I remember to lock the door?" and there's also no worry if my wife locks the door while I'm outside doing yard work or something. I have read mixed things regarding the security auditing of the device by white-hats. Alas, my opinion there is that someone with the tools, knowledge and skillset would also need to be specifically targeting me and be physically nearby for this to be a concerning factor.

they work great until they don't
I bought this to put on my garage which is attached to my house. All my tools are in the garage and I wanted something that I didn't have to rekey every time someone left and I added someone new who needed access. This door is opened and locked many times each day. Plus I don't carry my phone around when I am working. Tried that twice needed a new phone after two days both times. Lock installed easily and programmed easily the first time. then the electronics went. After multiple emails the company sent me a new part. Installed the new part and reprogramed it. No issues - do it at night the lights are hard to see if the lock is in direct sunlight. When the batteries died the problems started. It would not reprogram. So against my better judgement i installed the app. Surprise the app programmed it easily. Then it went wonky again. Brand new batteries dead; though the app says they are fine. Can't reprogram from the app. it opens and closes the lock from the inside but not the outside. It's Saturday at 5 so I had a beer and gave up. Day two - i delete the app and reinstall on two different phones. Then things get really weird and I discover all the glitches in the app. Plus i'm on my computer just shaking my head. I have every part and the extra key in the house next to the door inside. It's 90+F, it's south FL and it is June so this makes sense, and the door is in full sun. Guess i should have taped the key to my forehead. Wind blows the door shut and the door locks, while I'm outside trying to read the directions on my phone in the shade. App tells me that i have to remove the battery cover because the finger print feature isn't set. I had that set to off. I hate apps. I liked this lock because you didn't need an app and a mobile phone to use it. The only two tools available to me were a big crowbar, a sawzall and I used a 10 lb barbell as a hammer to remove the door frame. So when it works it works great. When it doesn't make sure you have everything outside, someone inside or all the other doors in your house open. Oh beware of auto iPhone updates. I may not be able to blame every problem with the app on Ulog. That's why i deleted and redownloaded the app. The company has the best customer service I have ever encountered. They replace the lock without question even though I was a month past the warrenty.

Best Smart Deadbolt, Hands Down
I purchased this lock in 2021 from another merchant. It has lasted so far though a bitter winter and a miserably hot and muggy summer. I am not disappointed at all in this product. I only have one, but I find myself trying to justify putting these on all my entry doors. Before I removed the unit from the packaging, I was somewhat concerned about the security of the construction. How could a mostly plastic smart device be tough to break? I learned during install this lock has solid metal where it counts. The construction is quite solid. I found the physical installation to be very easy, once I took the time to read the instructions (I'm a guy, so that was a big step for me). The lock easily adjusted to fit my door. I didn't need to use a drill at all. I downloaded the app and set up profiles for myself and my family. This entire process was no-brainer simple. Call me geeky, but I found myself enjoying it. My kids were excited to participate. Everything went very smoothly. My second big concern after build quality was what do I do if the battery runs out? It comes with a keyed entry option! There are in fact FOUR ways to open the lock. I have fingerprints set. If for some reason the fingerprint reader is being stubborn, I have numeric codes set. I have my family set up with the app on their smart phones, so any of us can remotely open the lock using the app if need be - very handy if I need to let someone I trust into my house when I'm not there. If all of those methods fail, there is a simple (and quite secure) method to pop open the lock and use a physical key. A very handy feature about this lock is how to lock it. You close the door and press one button on the lock. Done! I've been able to lock my door even with hands completely full. Try that with a traditional keyed deadbolt! There's no good reason not to be secure. In a year of using the lock, what annoyances have I found? The only annoying thing so far is, yes, the fingerprint reader has bad days. Usually it's just a matter of using the right pressure. I would say I have slight trouble on every tenth try or so. Never has it outright refused to work. I just have to try a couple more times is all. It's not a huge deal, though, because there are still three other ways to open the lock. I have also been a goofball a few times and tried to unlock the unit with a fingerprint, to be met with frustration and failure, only to find it was never locked in the first place. I had to take back the things I said in frustration. There is no difference that I can tell in a failed fingerprint read vs an unnecessary fingerprint read. I guess just try to open the door and that will solve it. The manufacturer does not spam me with email. The software gets updates every few months. I don't have to have a subscription to anything in order to use the lock. I honestly can't think of a compelling downside. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely no doubt about it, YES.

Unreliable Locks, Broken Web Software, and Terrible Customer Support: Avoid Ultraloq
I strongly advise against purchasing the Ultraloq U-Bolt SE or relying on the Ultraloq Air platform. What initially seemed like a promising smart lock ecosystem for property management and home access has turned into a constant technical nightmare, compounded by broken software updates and non-existent customer service. Key Issues & Disappointments 1. Ultraloq Air Software Broken (Owner-Only Web Visibility) Ultraloq pushed updates to the Ultraloq Air web portal that completely broke multi-user and property management workflows. Suddenly, only the primary account owner can see the locks on the web dashboard. Secondary admins, co-hosts, and staff members have been completely stripped of visibility on the web portal without notice. If you manage multiple properties or rely on a team to oversee access control, this single software flaw makes the entire system completely useless. 2. U-Bolt SE Hardware Unreliability The U-Bolt SE hardware itself fails at basic smart lock duties: Connectivity Failures: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections drop constantly, leaving the locks offline right when guests or team members need access. Inconsistent Authentication: Keypad entries and biometric/app unlocks frequently time out or lag, forcing manual key overrides. Severe Battery Drain: Batteries drain far faster than advertised, largely due to the locks endlessly struggling to maintain a unstable network connection. 3. Abysmal Customer Support When these issues occur, Ultraloq support is practically non-existent: Responses are canned, automated templates that do not address the specific technical problems raised. Tickets remain open or get closed without resolution. Rather than fixing known platform bugs on Ultraloq Air, support deflects responsibility or offers useless troubleshooting steps that do not resolve backend permissions issues. Final Verdict The Ultraloq U-Bolt SE hardware is fickle, and Ultraloq Air software updates actively remove core functionality that users rely on. Until Ultraloq restores full web dashboard access for non-owner admins and fixes its persistent connectivity issues, do not waste your money on this ecosystem.

Great smart lock
Works well with HomeKit. Finger print scanner is fast and battery life is good with daily use. Feels sold and was easy to install and set up. I had other brands and this is my favorite. And it’s more affordable.

Perfect smartlock with a plethora of features to suit most needs
To start off, this is my 5th smartlock. From cheap to expensive, so I have extensive use knowledge, comparisons against competitors, and integration experience (smart integrated house). This lock is replacing a Kwikset Kevo and it's hands down a better lock. It's cheaper and the version I bought included the bridge (with the Kevo the bridge was an additional cost of around $100). I would say, with what I wanted, it's a perfect lock. This lock is for the garage interior door (standard sized door including the deadbolt cutout) and the objective behind a smart lock here is to assist with opening the door when hands are full and/or without a key/app in hand or opened. We solely use this door for entry/exit and it's behind garage doors for decreased accessibility to the public. The Kevo worked perfectly for this at first but as phones upgraded and security increased, the reliability of the blue tooth connectivity became less and less reliable and forced us to open the app to unlock the door at almost every use, defeating the purpose of a "hands-free" lock. Other locks performed nearly identical in regards to blue tooth connectivity as the Kevo, likely due to infrequent updates and wide ranges of phone models. This lock has great features, much more in comparison, and has 3 methods of preference. Biometrics, PIN, and geo-based auto-unlock. Biometrics seem to work flawlessly provided you set it up properly. I've used them about 40 times at the time of writing this review without one issue. PIN code works exactly as it should and does not require comment on this tried and true method (other than the PIN hide feature if you're paranoid someone is watching). Finally, the Auto-Unlock geofencing. This has worked perfectly so far. I put the target in the middle of my house, even though the actual lock is near the house edge. I did this to ensure that my house and backyard is covered in the radius so if I'm in either, it would keep the mode to back and not unlock if I leave the radius in my yard and re-enter causing the lock to unlock. It works like this, once you've entered the radius, it will unlock and set your mode to "Back". Once you leave the radius, it changes your mode to "Away", and the next time you re-enter the radius it will switch to back and unlock. This ensures it's not unlocking once you're in your house and are within the radius. This is intelligently designed and I'm confident that it's working as intended. You can also set to receive notifications once the auto-unlock feature is triggered so you'd know if your distance from the lock is triggering an unlock. I had someone assist in testing the range and it's pretty accurate. The lowest setting is 300m but will go up to 600m and 1000m. I do not use the auto-lock setup, but plan to once all the users of the door have PINs and fingerprints added, as it's time based but it is a good option as long as you have a PIN and/or fingerprint setup (so you wouldn't get locked out if you forgot your phone inside). The included bridge runs on the 2.4ghz band (pretty standard for smart home appliances due to its range and compatibility) and should be within 10-15ft of the lock. Mine has a full signal at about 12ft with a couch blocking the line of sight. I do not use Alexa or other smarthome companions for home security devices so I cannot describe it's integration features/skills but I imagine it's like the other security devices and only allows you to lock and not unlock. The only improvement I'd suggest is the nob on the interior mechanism. It's black on black and you can't easily see if it's unlocked or not. I plan to resolve this by dremeling a notch and painting the groove white to see its position. All-in-all, I'm very happy with this lock and if ever phone security is interfering with the auto-unlock feature, the biometrics and/or PIN can be used for an easier access method. I would recommend this every time someone wants to use a smartlock. SUPPLEMENTAL REVIEW - 7 Oct 2021 Everything is still working perfectly. Batteries were swapped 1 time over the year, so that's excellent. In comparison, my other locks required multiple changes over the year. No issues with it doing/not doing what was expected. Due to COVID, I did turn off the geo-fencing since we work from home now. The auto-lock is set to 10 minutes but we all have PIN and bio settings, no locked out people. Issuing codes to others is easy and it works without issue. Still 5 stars

No compren YALE.

Very good lock
It is a good lock and it has a good app to manage it remotely. I am very happy with it overall, however the battery does have some issues.

Best Smart Lock Ever
When I first bought a smart lock years ago I really wanted a fingerprint reader but the few that existed had horrible reviews so I got one with a code instead. But now that every kid in the neighborhood knows our code I figured it was time for an upgrade. The fingerprint reader works so well that I never use a code other then when I first set it up. Never replaced the batteries yet, and have never needed to use he key. I've set it up so it auto-locks so I never need to worry about it being left unlocked. Install: Installing was a real pain. My door frame had a strike plate but my door did not but the lock requires it. I used a dremel to cut out room for the strike plate to get it to fit. But then the lock was slightly too long and the it would rub the latch when locking just enough that it didn't work. So after many micro adjustments, cutting, dremeling it all worked. You might get lucky and not require any adjustments or you might end up needing to hire someone to install it. Just depends on your door. Thankfully I only need to install it once. I got the wifi kit. I rarely use it. It connects well enough. I plugged it in to an outlet near the door. I have a google mesh which is both 2.4/5Ghz and didn't have any issues. It's nice to let someone in when you aren't at home and you can see a history of people who unlocked the door (assuming they use a fingerprint or have a unique code). And you can check to see if you forgot to unlock the door. Alexa. I've only tested this out to lock the door or check the status. But since it's set to auto lock I don't use it very much. Other than the install I'm really happy with the lock and would buy it again. It's pricey but you get what you pay for.

Lock and Support both are fantastic
The support team were fantastic and sent me a new device since the original was not connecting over Matter. The new lock works perfectly, I have been able to add to HomeKit and Home Assistant and can now create automations. Very happy with the product and very happy with the support provided.
