Quick question, I am new to this mustard and brand.. I received my mustard today, the jar/lid had no safety seal. Is this normal?

Yes all Loewensenf and most of the german mustards are sealed with a vacuum seal, you hear a "plop" when you open it, then you know its not tempered with.

One of the listed ingredients is spices, what are the "spices"?

The European law allows all items that are under a certain amount to be just named as "spices". This is in some cases to protect the manufacturer recipe. So we are not able to reveal that.

Product details list China as the country of origin is this true?

I haven't bought this product in a while but I could swear it was made in Germany. I don't recall anything on the label about China...
