It's an add a fuse. It works. I've used them before and they're reliable. Four stars only because fuse looks and feels very cheap. Overall. The add a fuse itself is solid.

There are multiple fuse boxes in my van, but the primary one is under the dash. The fuse receptacle is recessed between two plastic ridges that I initially thought wouldn't allow me to use the tap, but after some trial and error it fits, at least in the locations I need to use it for. I need it to support a current draw of 12 amps, but that exceeds the fuse that is in the slot that I need to tap into, so I'll have to use that circuit to control a relay that will switch a higher draw circuit from a second tap in an empty slot. Not a big deal, but less straightforward. The taps are unusable in the fuse box at the rear of the van, as the sockets are recessed too far. Does anyone know if someone makes a fuse/socket extension for situations like that? I've found some that plug in to a mini socket but then have a standard fuse receptacle. I'd like to find one that has a mini plug with a mini socket.

Assists me with hard-wiring my new dash cam while eliminating the cigarette lighter option. More than enough wires to make the installation a breeze. Make sure you connect the right fuses for constant power and always on power. Also, each fuse in your fuse box has a hot side and the dormant side. I didn't know this before but it greatly enhances your connections.

I used these to "hack" the DCM fuse in my outback, a known problem for battery drain. These worked great, easy to use and solve my problem If I had to give them any con, the fuse slots are really tight, this may be a good thing in the long run, but getting the fuses in required some careful rocking of the fuse to get it fully seated. .

I'm taking the blame up front for not making sure this would fit my car. These DO NOT fit a 2015 Mazda CX-5. I did some mods to make it fit, but DO NOT recommend that! Do your research before ordering to confirm it fits your vehicle. Otherwise these are well made and have every evidence of performing well in the correct fuse box.
