I have assembled several ROKR wooden puzzles and all of them have been extremely well designed. This one is no different. However, I do caution potential buyers that due to its size (very small) the parts to this particular puzzle are quite fragile. So, I encourage people to go ahead and buy this, just be aware that you will need to be very careful with the tiny, thin parts. It is easy to press a little too hard while assembling a small part and break either the part or an adjoining part. But if you take your time and work carefully it will be fine!

Easy to do. Looks great when done

Though it has many tiny parts that are easily breakable - I personally only had 3 that needed to be fixed. The kit had extras for two of them, and the other I was able to use a small amount of tacky glue. Instructions were easy to follow (just read ahead and check pictures). Definitely a lot of detail, fun to put together, and mine functions as intended. Overall, it looks wonderful and I can’t wait to give it as a gift. Excited to buy another ROKR kit in the future.

I previously created one of these wood 3D puzzles that was a Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel provided extras of the parts that are frequently broken. This model unfortunately did not. There are a few parts that require certain movement or bending. I found that it was easy to break some of the smaller pieces, even when using care, and then you would not have a back up piece to be able to fix it. Just wish they had taken that into consideration. Otherwise, was really great and fun to put together!

Great set for my 13 y/o son. He enjoyed assembling this and has displayed it proudly.

Beware this puzzle is 1:80 scale (common scale for model cars is 1:25). The locomotive is only about 7-inches long when completed. There are many tiny and fragile pieces that are difficult to handle and easily broken. The precision for the fit is very poor. The wheels would not stay on the axles without glue. There are many instances where the same assembly is repeated on the right and then the left side. The joints on one side would push right together while the other would truly test one's patience. There was no wax included with this puzzle ... using wax helped with several difficult assemblies. There are several places where following the directrions would make the assembly more difficult than it would be if you are creative. This is NOT one of the better puzzles from ROKR.

A couple pieces broke cause it seems a bit fragile, but with good wood glue, it turned out better; thank ya.

Loved it. It's just a little small but it added to the challenge.

This was a good build In spite of all the TINY parts that could only be handled with tweezers. There were many that coudnt be installed. Consequently, there was a lot of parts that called for Gorrila Glue. Also, a few parts were broken pushing them out of the motherboard. Very delicate.

Amazing kit for the money. I got it on sale. All parts are VERY precisely made. A fun challenging way to spend some time. I'm only about a quarter of the way through but am thoroughly impressed. Instructions are really good as well. I'll be buying more of these for myself and for presents. Highly recommended.

My experience with ROKR models is the smaller they are the more challenging due to delicate parts and complexity. This loco is one of the more challenging, and I would not recommend to the novice builder. For me though, the end result is impressive and satisfying. Thankfully, ROKR includes spares of the most easily broken components.

Aware that the instructions say 14+ but this was a gift for my 8 year old who has been very into building toys for years. It was a challenge for him for sure! There were a couple parts in the instructions where even I struggled a bit to understand them. He broke a few pieces, but we just used some wood glue to stick them back together and it worked out fine in the end. Highly recommended for patient builders!
