DHS Zinc Shampoo – Dandruff Shampoo – for Flaky and Dry Scalp with 2% Zinc Pyrithione, 8 oz

I went into this knowing these products aren’t meant for daily use. My son, and I use it for our dermatitis, psoriasis (me), and eczema (him). His eczema cleared up very quickly, and mine took a bit longer. He said he only uses it once a week now, and I use it every few days. I haven’t noticed hair loss, I probably lose a few strands every shower, I’d say like three strands but that’s pretty normal for me. I don’t dye my hair or use products either but my hair seems to be the same texture. I think if used the way one would use tar shampoo (sparingly) it’s effective. I hope this helps :).

Pleasantly surprised!! This shampoo is exactly what I’ve been needing. The scent is a light powdery floral scent, and it isn’t overpowering or strong at all, just faint. It lathers easily and beautifully, and my hair felt so soft while massaging the lather. I was caught off guard by the opaque light orange color of the shampoo, but it’s not an issue, just wasn’t expecting it to look like that. I let it sit on my scalp for 5 minutes and after rinsing, my hair was squeaky clean and in need of conditioner. I don’t think the shampoo is color safe, I could see some bleeding, but perhaps that was the temperature of the water also? I washed my hair hours ago and I can already tell that my scalp is healing of the seborrheic dermatitis flakes because my scalp also feels very soothed. I’m going to use the shampoo again in a few days but I’m feeling very confident that this treatment has worked.

I started using this shampoo at my MIL's house and was blown away at how good and simple it was. I have a really sensitive scalp and this does wonders for me. The only downside is that I feel like I have to use a lot of it because it doesn't lather the best, even though I have thin hair. I will probably go through a 16oz bottle pretty fast washing every 3 days or so. My hair feels smooth and shiny afterwards. For conditioner I use shea moisture castor oil conditioner. It seems to be a good pairing for my thin wavy hair.

Apparently, your skin produces a natural yeast that for most people is no big deal. Unfortunately for people like me, the body goes overboard on this production and can lead to random rashes on the skin. I use this shampoo as a body wash once or twice a week and it works to keep this yeast under control. It works great, leaves my skin feeling soft and overall, I am happy. I don't love the smell when I pour it onto my scrubby, but it rinses away and the odor doesn't linger on the skin so overall it is fine.

I've been using this shampoo in my hair as well as a face scrub 3-4 times a week. It has dramatically improved my Seborrheic dermatitis to where I barely notice it even as a problem. I feel confident again! I first noticed how much Zinc helped it when I was using the Sunscreen brand "Freaks of Nature". Highly recommend it.

I searched carefully for a shampoo with 2% zinc pyrithione - the active ingredient. This shampoo caught my eye because if what is DOES NOT have - the preservatives that many manufacturers put in when the took the parabens out. Many people develop allergies to those, I may have that. Also it does not have an overwhelming fragrance, it is very soft and fresh. It does not smell like medicine. It also has no mint or menthol, which may be refreshing, but also may be irritating to some scalps. Washing my hair was an enjoyable experience. My scalp felt really clean. I recommend using a leave-in conditioner that you keep away from scalp and ears, focus on the ends of your hair, keeping scalp clean. I have only used it once, but I think it is a winner. I hope it does what it is supposed to do - fight flakes and itch. I have a tendency to get migraines from fragrance, so less is more for me. So far it seems great. I like the bigger bottle, some have only 7 or 8 oz.

I found this shampoo via a sample in my dermatologist's office. First one I've found that stops itching.

Just ok! Little on the watery side so you need to use more.

This is the only shampoo that relieves the itchy scalp that came along with menopause. I tried high-end shampoo brands like Eufora, regular Head and Shoulders, extra strength Delsum, everything I could think of. The key must be the zinc in this.

I bought this shampoo as I have Shingles with the rash all over the left side of my scalp. Using this shampoo calmed the rash and I had some relief for a while. Although my hair felt very dry when rinsing it it was fine when dried.

At first I thought this shampoo was too drying for my baby fine hair and dry scalp I realized when using shampoos for problem scalp I should concentrate the shampoo only on scalp and not on hair shaft Leave on few minutes and then rinse shampoo without massaging into hair shaft Apply conditioner if needed then style as usual I didn’t like this shampoo at first but now using this procedure I find this shampoo treats my scalp itch and irritation great! I use once or twice weekly while alternating with my regular shampoo Ja’Nell M Brenner
