The label says corn oil but the description says canola oil. Which is it?

Canola oil is a vegetable oil derived from a variety of rapeseed that is low in erucic acid, as opposed to colza oil. There are both edible and industrial forms produced from the seed of any of several cultivars of the plant family Brassicaceae. Notice that the lable reads 100% Pure Mazola corn oil. Mazola corn oil is it's own product, not to be confused by corn oil. Sort of strains the truth in advertising thing. Hope this helps.

is mazola corn oil 18:2 rich?

Corn oil is exceedingly high in unstable Omega-6 fatty acids. DO NOT heat these oils, they are unstable, use these oils promptly because they go rancid quickly. The "serving" size of 14g was chosen so they can claim 0g trans fat. These "oils" are extracted from corn using heat and solvents (hexane)....... Do as you wish with your body, but I don't eat stuff like this anymore.

can this be use to pop popcorn

Yes, it can be used to make popcorn but the best oil I've found is peanut oil. Both are thicker oils with high flame intensity and work well. Enjoy.
