Will this unit work in southwest Florida where the humidity is high?

No!! These are completely dependent on humidity differentials. I've read tons of reviews and background. They'll work to some degree as long as the relative humidity is less than 100%, but you're probably better off with a non-evaporative cooler in Florida. They work like crazy in desert areas, but even then, they can only do a max of about 20'F difference from outside temp. They might work okay in concert with a traditional central air system, since that actually de-humidifies the inside air. But I don't know.

How far does the air flow

I have ours on low and it cools from the garage door to the home door on the opposite side of the room. Very amazing

would this work in garage in AZ? no window. won't keep door open due to snakes. suggestions for best model?

If you can, create some inlet and outlet. If everything is closed, you'll evaporate some, however, it will recycle the moist air, since it does not have any way to dry. Ideally, create an opening, perhaps with some bug screen to keep snakes out and place the cooler in front. You'll also have to have a way to exhaust the moist air, the hot dry air will eventually be converted into some laundry room condition. That's why there should be an exhaust fan of some kind to expel the moist air. I am running the MC37M for almost five years in northern Arizona. Whilst the cooler is simple, it has some design flaws. We have water that has very high calcium contents. The moisture / calcium can cause built ups on the electrical connector and puff, cause problems. This type of water can also cause higher maintenance costs, ergo every year new pads, possibly new pump. Lots of calcium layer inside the tank and on outside casing etc. In your case you might be better off with a window AC, but it always boils down to fresh air circulation.

can I use regular tap water for this product? How many hours does it work if I fill up the tank?

Yes, tap water is fine. I take a one gallon jug and place in the fridge and when ready to use the cooler I empty it in the reservoir. I refill and place back into the fridge for next time. Immediate very cool air that last a while. I would say that about 3-4 hours on a tank before the pump starts sucking air.
