I had no trouble with the lids. I love the glass... I'm a little suspicious of plastics of all types, and prefer food storage in glass. The stand works well. This stand is perfect for airing the sprouts. For years I have been propping my jars up and wishing I had the time to build a rack. I love the lids too. No more long sessions of digging the hulls out. The holes in the lids let the hulls just float out as you rinse the sprouts. I bought an extra kit to give as a gift.
