A girlfriend told me I needed to try this coffee. It does not disappoint. We usually drink a dark roast, but I wanted to try something different. I was honestly really surprised how much I liked it being that it was a light roast. Very smooth and no bitterness. We also made this in a plain old drip coffee pot. We do not have an espresso machine and it was still delicious! We will definitely rebuy.

The beans have that signature Lavazza consistency, roasting evenly and grinding without excess oil or dust. In the cup, it leans bright and silky, with subtle honey and floral notes that make it an easy daily drinker. If you want a light roast that tastes refined without being weak or acidic, this blend delivers a reliably high‑quality experience from start to finish.

My review isn't so much about how good this espresso bean is because it's just fantastic. However, I've found very little about the difference between this and the "Super Crema" version of the same Lavazza espresso bean. I started about a year ago buying Super Crema and love it. It is a fantastic bean. However, being the price had seemed to come down a bit on the Gold Selection I figured I'd give it a try after a year of Super Crema. The Gold Selection is absolutely fantastic. I love both, but now prefer the Gold a bit more. Crema: Not sure what makes "Super Crema" any different than Gold Selection. Both have a great deal of crema and it holds very well. I noticed really no difference and if anything, Gold Selection may have a bit more crema. Roast: The Super Crema is a lighter bean. It's much smoother, with less aromatics. The Gold Selection is a darker roast and the aroma hits you upon grinding. Both are absolutely FANTASTIC. Here's how I'd suggest using. If you like to drink your espresso straight with no milk, maybe try the Super Crema as it's a bit smoother and more mellow. If you like to make lattes, go with the Gold Selection. I think the milk drowns out the mild flavor of the Super Crema a bit more than Gold Selection. I like to still taste the coffee. Sure you can use less milk to get the same result but this gives you a better overall drink JUST IN MY OPINION.

I got a new super-automatic machine after my old one died and decided to try some new coffees. I have been using Starbucks espresso beans for years; primarily because of where I live in a rural area, it is about the only thing available locally. I looked at a lot of reviews here, and almost everyone likes the Lavazza brand. I figured I would try this one first as it is near the top of Lavazza's price range and it sounded good from the reviews. There were a lot of comments about Starbucks burned taste of their espresso, and how smooth this one is in comparison. I would have to agree that it is a lot smoother. I spent a month in Italy a few years ago (the reason I bought an espresso machine when I got back) and, I have to say, the coffee made with these beans is very very close to what I learned to love over there. The taste is much more complex than the Starbucks. Rather than just having a very strong, intense flavor and taste, you can taste more complexity in the flavors of the Lavazza Gold. While it is more expensive than the Starbucks, I feel that it is worth it. I may try one or two of the other Lavazza beans just to see, but I am very happy with this one after about a month of using it for a couple of espressos or cappuccinos a day.

Really like this coffee. Makes a very good latte. The beans are a good quality and grind down to a flour like consistency and the aroma when you open the bag is coffee.
