If you're a picky person, this product may not be for you. This product isn't by any means high end but it serves its purpose very well. The product is reasonably priced. The product is well packed. One of the boxes arrived damaged but no damage to the product. The product is easy to assemble if the instructions are followed. It took me about 20 minutes to read the instructions and assemble one unit. The trick in assembling this product is to get all the dowels in all the way and make sure the upper and lower cams are tight before the back is installed. The back of this product may appear flimsy but does an excellent job of keeping the product from racking. The product looks good, each cube is 13.5" high x 13.5" wide x 13.5" deep. There product provides plenty of storage space. Since the product is made of laminated particle board, this product is for interior use only. If you want to make this product super sturdy, add a bit of carpenter's glue to each dowel when assembling.I would recommend this product to a friend.

This looks great tight to the wall with stored items in place. Nice finish. Great color. Pretty sturdy overall. I do like it. It uses the screw and cam connectors to assemble it and was very easy to put together.Now the negatives. I questioned the design of the shelves and dividers but it all worked out because I used a high-quality wood glue along each seam. This made it very sturdy. Also, of the ten packages with home furnishing products that I received that week, this one was the only one to arrive with damage. The package inspection showed no apparent damage to its surface, but once opened it became apparent that someone had mishandled the package somewhere during its lifetime resulting in numerous pieces having crushed corners on one end. The biggest reason i see fo this was the lack of packaging material at the ends of the boxes. Other undamaged items came with special corner protectors of hard plastic with much thicker styro foam end pieces which protected everything in the box extremely well. Also, the bottom panel was cracked from a forceful blunt blow but still usable since it was against the floor where this would be when put together. Lastly, the backing is just a thin crappy type of cardboard.So, for just a bit more money the 9 cube unit could have been one to rave about. The savings on the lack of packaging are so small it makes no sense to me why the items inside are mot better protected during shipping. I kept it cause it's impossible to return something like that without a giant hassle.

For the price this is actually quite a nice item, as the finished appearance would fool you into thinking that it cost more. It is relatively easy to put together - took maybe a half hour. Even for an individual I managed without much effort. It did feel quite flimsy until the backing was nailed on properly, but after that it was plenty sturdy. However, it really needed a few extra similar nails for the interior to give it maximum stability. All my 12-inch LPs fit nicely and neatly, so it is just what I needed.

The two main reasons this got 4 stars instead of 5 are these:1. It was NOT "easy" for one person to assemble this being that every time you had a dowel or two in place to secure each section, the whole thing would shimmy apart again. Very frustrating. A second person helping to hold it together while the other person pushes the pieces together is ideal.2. There IS a backing that matches the wood pattern of the piece BUT.... it's only for show and made of flimsy cardboard. Just blowing on it, now assembled, makes the backing wobble. Our concern is if it bulges or warps, it could cause it to bulge so far away from the main piece that it will look cheesy. We would have much rather preferred a thin piece of particle board to adhere more securely to the back of it. We're probably going to secure the cardboard - with great care - to the horizontal pieces of the organizer in hopes that it will be better secured and less likely to bulge. Cardboard al most never keeps its original shape unless pressed against a glass frame etc. This has nothing to press against except on each far side.*The color is as shown - very pretty aesthetically. We like the weathered gray look.*It stands up well either vertically or horizontally. We chose the horizontal position for safety reasons and how it fits in with our décor.*It's holding a good number of books in 4 of the 6 cubicles - some books are heavy - I corned the books in the cubicles so the whole piece was well balanced though.* It arrived quickly and in good shape.All in all, we like it for the price.

Like others said, this is particle board--however, the price is GREAT for what it accomplishes. I had horrid wire cube storage in my laundry room and decided to swap it out for these. The look is so much cleaner. I am horrible at assembling things and usually have to wait until my husband agrees to assemble things. I purchased two of these. The first one, I followed the instructions closely and it was like 25 minutes (only because I had distractions!). SUPER easy! The second one I got cocky and winged it--made mistakes and it collapsed and I ended up crushing two of the dowels and also damaging a shelf--this was on me. Had I followed the instructions and the order they use it would not have happened. That said, it wouldn't cost them much to throw in a couple of extra dowels they are delicate--why I lopped a star of for sturdiness. Anyway, so I assembled and put on top of the long wire shelf in my laundry room. The size of these cubes is perfect for storage>. I have detergent in one, towels in another and cleaners in others, small appliances and hurricane lanterns in others (I have 16 cubes altogether from three different units of these). Everything looks neat and organized. I spent under $200 and completely transformed my laundry room! I did the same with a smaller sized unit of theirs for my pantry. I used to have things either stacked on top of each other or in those horrid wire cubes. Now everything looks organized and clean. Planning to do closets next. Again, this is inexpensive particle board so be careful during assembly--but it looks clean and fantastic in the end.

I am recommending you don't purchase this cubby cabinet for anything that is going to have to hold some weight. This unit was installed on January 28th, and today, it collapsed on the floor. Fortunately, I have carpet, and the POS wasn't facing anything breakable, so no major damage, except to this POS itself. Here are the facts:My brother, who is a life-long cabinet maker by trade (ret.), assembled and hung this rig up on my bedroom wall. He used glue during construction as recommended by many other reviewers here, and for the bedroom installation, he used four bolts into two studs, and also utilized two L brackets to shore up the bottom, as well as two brackets at the top.The next day (Jan. 29th), I filled up this cabinet with LPs (it was about 85% full when i finished) that I've had laying around in boxes for years. Initially, I was very happy, the cabinet looked decent enough, and I started playing vinyl again almost daily, now that I didn't have to look for anything in a box.Alas, my joy was not to last. The cabinet collapsed on Feb. 9th in the early afternoon. So there are a lot of questions as to how this happened; maybe some of you will presume that my brother screwed up; you would be wrong. Examination of the broken strut pieces clearly shows that the cheap cardboard particle board (the filler they use in the center looks like grass and twigs; see accompanying image) is the culprit; it simply collapsed from the inside out.Now the question is: will Amazon refund my money? They say they are going to after they get the return, but when they see the pile of junk I'm about to send through the mail, will they follow through? They should, as under ordinary circumstances, I would be filing a pro se lawsuit against the manufacturer, as they do not provide any guidance as to what this POS can reasonably accommodate weight-wise. I was not negligent in either the construction or the installation, and I deserve far more than a replacement (which is what amazon informed me they offered as recompense; why would I do that and just have it fall apart again?)I will update this review to let you know one way of another; but for now, you should forget about buying this disaster-waiting-to-happen. DO NOT BUY THIS CABINET IT IS DANGEROUS.UPDATE, Feb. 11: I haggled with the amazon rep on the phone for a bit, and we agreed on a 50% refund; I could probably get more if I bothered to send the trash through UPS, but I've got more important things to do with my time. BTW, the young woman I chatted with had a similar experience with this product, so she was fortunately sympathetic; I originally asked for 70% refund, but her superior refused that.

I absolute love this cubby unit! It is lightweight and super simple to put together! I’m an 80 year old woman and put it together myself. I just followed the pictures. I was short one dowel, so had to make a trip to Lowe’s which slowed down the assembly time! The hardest part was lining up all the dowels and long screws, when putting on the top and bottom. I used a rubber mallet along the way. Beware, the top and bottom have some hollow areas making it lightweight. (Which is a good thing!) The unit is sturdy, but when I was deciding which world be the top and which would be the bottom, I realized my rubber mallet had slightly damaged a hollow area. No biggie, as I quickly designated that one to be the bottom. I then stuck on some soft felt feet, uprighted it and slid it into the bedroom. Easy peasy! The 13” cube bins fit perfectly into this Closetmaid cube organizer! Definitely recommend!

Put together in one hour. We have a whole walk in closet of closet Maid. It's sturdy, it cost effective. I love the color options. This by the way is the record shelves you need. 13.5 it awesome. I was worried the package had a broken corner on the top side. I'll add Pictures of this later as it's on a different phone. But thankfully , it was not busted or damaged in any way , I understand it's heavy, A good products are heavy. If you know how to put ikea stuff together , you know how to put this one together , I would say , this was even easier. You won't go wrong and if you get a product that's damaged in any way.Just send it back.Amazon is wonderful.

All parts were included, labelled and instructions were easy to follow. It took my son roughly a half hour to assemble. Quite sturdy and holds about 75% of my albums. I will be ordering another one. Even though it is a great product, I think it is a bit pricey for the size.
