CERAKOTE® Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit, 10 Wipe Kit

Holy cow!!! This kit is the best kit I have ever tried.. and ive tried just about all of them over the years!! I got so discouraged that I would just purchase aftermarket headlights.. I rececently purchased a used Mercedes and of course the headlights were yellowed and had very little light output at night. After looking up the price for new headlights I found myself on the search for a restoration kit that would actually work and last!! The kit is very simple and has clear instructions. Everything you need besides maybe some masking tape comes in the box. I didnt need masking tape as I already had the headlights removed for a different repair. It does take some elbow grease and as the instructions state.. the more effort on your part then the better the results! Do every step thouroughly and im sure you will have the great results as I have. I am just THRILLED with the results! Way beyond my expectations! We will see how long it lasts but it says Lifetime Guarantee!! Well worth the price if it does last. My Mercedes looks like new!

My only problem is how to rate this 10 stars - 5 for the product, and 5 for Cerakote customer support. I finished the prep wipes in Step 1, and the sanding as directed in Step 2. One of the "Step 3" packages was swollen when I received the box. I didn't know if it was still good or not. I contacted Cerakote and told them everything else was great except that one package. They sent me a new "Step 3" set of wipes, new sandpaper pads, and gloves via FedEx. They said since it would be a couple days between steps, that I should repeat the final sanding step. After sanding with the 3000 grit paper, and washing it off, to be honest, I thought that the headlights would turn out the same or worse than before I started. Then I used the wipes as directed in Step 3. (Yeah - follow directions!) The lens went from cloudy to crystal clear immediately. No streaks, no spots, just clear as new lenses. I don't know what magic potion is in those little envelopes, but it's amazing. The results were far better than I had expected. The headlights look like the day I originally installed them. I included before and after pictures. Any dull spots on the "after" picture are due to dew condensing on the lens, not on the headlight itself. The headlights are perfect!

I do have before and after pictures, but I'm too lazy to upload them. Trust me when I say that the difference is DRAMATIC. It's as if I have brand new headlights! I took them from foggy/clouded to crystal clear, without even that much effort. And with the ceramic coating, I expect they will stay that way. Here are some tips from what I learned about using the kit. 1. If you are careful, and you're not doing the lights on a big truck, and the fogging isn't terrible, you can split the supplies in half and have enough left over to do another car! 2. It's not a bad idea to tape off the headlights through steps 1 and 2 (initial chemical cleaning, and especially, sanding). Even though I did this, I still managed to sand off a thin line of paint right next to one of the headlights. That was entirely my fault. 3. You can't really sand too much. I actually did it twice. Instead of going by the clock (they say 3 minutes per pad), I just told myself I would use the applicator twice on each piece of sandpaper, and then take off the sandpaper to sand by hand a third time. In other words, three passes with each grit, for a total of six passes per light. That worked out well, and it wasn't too hard, either. Just be careful you don't sand the paint on your car! 4. Bring a roll of paper towels with you before you start. I spent a lot of time running back and forth to the house. You won't need the whole roll. I used about ten towels, total. So bring a roll, and save yourself some time. 5. Make sure you set aside an hour to do the job, and another hour to let it cure. That's about how long it took me, and I'd never done it before. I believe I can do it again in under 45 minutes, easily. But you'll still need an hour for the final coating to cure. If it's raining, you won't be able to do this work. Also, you should work in the shade. I don't think it would come out very well if you do it in direct sunlight. 6. You will definitely need a spray bottle, filled with water. A 16 oz bottle would be about right. I used a little tiny 2 oz bottle, and had to refill it numerous times. 7. When they say to keep the surface of the headlight WET while you sand, they mean it! Your work will come out much smoother, and go faster, if you do that. If not, you end up with a gunky mess that you will have to clean off anyway, and probably have to sand some more - so why not spray while you go? 8. Be sure to use those paper towels to clean things around the lights very well between each step. It just makes the job easier when you don't have to worry about ruining your paint with the chemicals, and you get all the sanding glop out of the way, so you can see if you are sanding your paint, and not your headlights! 9. Be sure to REMOVE THE TAPE before you begin step 3 (ceramic coating). Then, use a hair dryer to THOROUGHLY dry out the surfaces around the lights (and the lights themselves) before you start coating the headlights. This last step 3 is crucial to performance, and is why this kit is so special. It takes no time at all to do the work, like rubbing alcohol once on the headlight surface. But the chemical isn't alcohol, and it's very strong, so prepare well - you don't want to have to stop in the middle of the application. Dry out those lights and surfaces first (because the chemical coating does not play well with water, at all)! Then know that putting on that coating only takes about 15 seconds per light. You just coat it once, with 50% overlap, wipe off any of the chemical that's dribbled onto your paint, and then DON'T TOUCH THOSE HEADLIGHTS FOR ONE HOUR! Let them cure, and they will be like-new! Again, this kit is marvelous. If I had known the end result would be so amazing, I would have taken it out of the box much sooner. I am going to do my wife's car next. It really is the best thing I've seen to do this job. Somebody put a lot of thought into this product, and you can tell. Not too much work for an absolutely fantastic end result!

I'm so surprised that this CeraKote headlight lens restorer kit (contains everything in one little box) actually lives up to all of the hypes I've read and researched. This product is so simply great, that my yellow, cloudy oxidized lens totally look like brand new out of the showroom clean and crystal clear. And, sooo easy, took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish - a bona fide breeze. Stop hunting around and just get it. ...So happy I did!!

I’m genuinely impressed with how well this kit worked. My headlight was extremely cloudy and foggy beforehand, and after using the Cerakote restoration kit, it looks significantly clearer, cleaner, and much closer to new. I was recently in a car accident and the headlight on the opposite side of my vehicle had to be replaced, so I actually have a brand-new headlight to compare this one to. After the restoration, the difference between the two is much smaller than I expected. The restored headlight still has a slight yellow undertone compared with the brand-new one, which is the main reason I wouldn’t give it a full 5 stars. That said, it removed almost all of the cloudy, hazy appearance and made a very noticeable difference. For a kit that doesn’t require power tools, I’m really happy with the result. I included before-and-after photos because I think they show the improvement better than I could describe it. Definitely worth trying before spending the money to replace an entire headlight assembly.

I was honestly impressed with how well this headlight restoration kit worked! I watched the instructional video all the way through first so I knew exactly what to expect. When I was ready to start, I played the video again in the background and followed along step by step. The process was easy to follow, and the results were amazing. My headlights look so much better, and the difference between the before and after is incredible. I adding a few after pictures because they really show how well this product worked. For reference my car is a 2012. If your headlights are cloudy, oxidized or looking a little rough and you’re considering restoring them yourself, I highly recommend this kit. Watch the video, follow the steps, take your time, and you’ll be amazed at the difference! Definitely worth it and a solid 5 stars from me!

This product worked incredibly well! I actually can’t believe how good my very old- very foggy lights look now. It took me about 20 minutes to do. The instructions were clear (like the lights!) and it was an easy process. I would highly recommend this product. I don’t typically leave reviews but am overly impressed with this. I’m disappointed I didn’t take a “before” picture, though the instructions tell you to do that.

First of all I don't have a before photo because I did not expect it to be good enough to want to write a review, I used a few others before and the results were good but nothing to write home about, so I just went ahead and tried this one when I was finished I was amazed, first my car is almost 8 years old I go to the car wash once or twice a week and my car is parked on the street so the headlights go through a lot. My headlights were not yellow but were a little hazed due to oxidation but not that bad as I restored it 3 times before with other products over the years. The Cerakote was easy to use just follow the instructional video. The results was nothing short of amazing my headlights looks like I just purchased them, a guy was walking by just as I finished he stopped and asked what I used as the headlights looked so clear and actually took a photo of the Cerakote box to purchase one. I dont know how long it will stay this clear but I am very impressed with the results so far. I will update in a few months as to how it lasts, my car is outdoors all the time and go through a lot of washes so will see.

Je l’ai fait avec la fille de 9ans, chacune un phare, et le rendu est vraiment époustouflant ! Ça nous a prit une trentaine de minutes, vraiment c’est d’une simplicité !!! I used this headlight restoration kit and the results were exactly as mentioned in the product description. My car’s headlights were yellow and dull, but after following the steps in the kit, they became clear and bright again. The process was simple, and all the required materials were included. The final finish looks almost like new, and the light output has improved a lot.
