I'm experimenting with using these instead of plastic tarp clips that keep getting broken. I find if I slip a small washer over the end of the threaded part, I get a reasonably broad surface to squeeze against the flat side of the clip. This allows me to tighten the metal thumbscrew down much tighter than I can with the plastic clips, up to the point where the clamp metal starts to deflect. Hopefully, the washer will spread this greater clamping force across enough of a doubled tarp section that the material does not tear. I believe the result will be a tighter anchor, and these clamps should not break. So far, so good!

I have an outdoor lamp which separated apart and is extremely difficult to fuse back together. So instead, I was looking for a small, dark clamp that could hold the two pieces of the lamp together. There weren't many options on Amazon, so this was the closest I could find. The price is a bit high for just 5 clamps, but they work okay. They are a bit small for my purposes and don't grip that well, but that's because of the slanted shape of the lamp pieces I'm clamping together. In all, I'm happy with this purchase since I needed a working solution, although the price is a little high and the grippiness is less than desired.
