My 47lb pit has a 19" neck. DO I do medium or large or find another collar all together?

My lab's neck is also 19". I bought the large. I had to adjust it but it is a much sturdier collar than the medium size I bought for my terrier. They are very well made and with the bonus ID tag well worth the money.

how is this collar in the water?

It has been fine in the small amount of rain we have gotten. Have always taken my dog's collar off before he swam in the pool.
